I have PCOS and had my VSG Sept. 2015, we were blessed to get pregnant in April 2016. Not a full year out but I had lost over 100 lbs and both baby and I are healthy. He is set to arrive Jan 18. Very soon. The only obstacle that I've had is trying to eat enough. I only gained 24 lbs and am being monitored with labs and all that jazz.
So it's very possible and you now have the best chance.

I'm 5 months out and down 88 pounds!

Yesterday marked 6 months since surgery. I am down 68lbs. The picture on the left was last year. The picture on the right was taken yesterday.

Yes, I stalled right about at that time. It is natural. Don't worry. The weight will the come off.

I stalled too and then my weight just fell off. Just watch. You won't believe it until you see it:) People won't even recognize you. You will look too amazing????

I was quite surprised by:
- the intensity of the gas pain
- my entusiastic reaction to pureed chicken after drinking nothing but liquids
- my new obsession (weighing myself in the morning, without clothes, with clothes, before pee, after pee, at my friend's house, after a nap, in the middle of the night, with my hair up, with my hair down, on the bathroom floor, in my bedroom, 3 times in a row, 4 times in case the previous 3 were wrong etc.)
- the feeling of not being hungry (yes I know it's normal, and I did not it would happen, but the feeling is still new)

I'm sure your surgeon is good too. Everything is good with me. I'm on stage 3 of my diet and have my 6 week visit Monday then I get fully cleared for regular foods. The first 3 weeks I lost 15 lbs the I stalled for 2 weeks now I'm moving again. So far post op I've lost 28 lbs and since the beginning of my journey I've lost 57lbs.
Best decision of my life.

It was very easy. A balanced diet. Examples:
Breakfast- 3 oz cottage cheese or 2 eggs scrambled or boiled. 1/2 piece of toast. 1 tsp fat( butter, Peanut Butter, fat free cream cheese) & a serving of fruit.

I'm sure your surgeon is good too. Everything is good with me. I'm on stage 3 of my diet and have my 6 week visit Monday then I get fully cleared for regular foods. Can you have Gatorade or Water with electrolytes? That might help.
I'm sorry you have those complications. My doctor said not to exercise until 6 weeks out, but every doctor is different.

I'm getting in 24 ounces of Water and I'm also on Clear Liquids. But he advised me to get in the Protein also. My friend gave me unjury chicken Soup it meets both criteria. But still only 30 grams of Protein.

Same here.lits of walking. Finally got off IV and now starting my liquids. If all goes well I get to go home today.
