  1. my surgery date is September 14. I'm also nervous and excited. This new chapter will be great. This forum has helped me greatly with all the questions I have. Good luck!
  2. Do the positives out way the negatives? That's what I keep asking myself. Stress can cause corresponding pains / aches. I'm nervous too, but to remain the same unable to run, and keep up with the little ones, in my case my nieces ( I suffer from infertility, from PCOS) and you could potentially get diabetes, suffer a heart art k or worse. The odds of death or complications are minimal. The odds of the other comorbidities are greater. Maybe you can also talk to your surgeon to help you decide. Do you have a date yet? Mine is September 14, next Monday. I'm nervous too. I thinks it's natural.
  3. Hang in there. You can do it. It will get better.
  4. I'm in the same boat. I'm hoping that it lessens the side effects of my PCOS and of course to be healthy. I have had infertility issues and my doctor recommended the surgery. I have my surgery on September 14 and I'm hoping things go good and long term the PCOS lessens. I also just read a paper about how women with PCOS at 40 have a very high chance of getting diabetes regardless of your weight. So hopefully this will help prevent the diabetes.
  5. Jay05 My surgeon told me that the liquid diet prior to your surgery helps the healing. It is less painful and heals faster. It wouldn't hurt right. My surgery date is set for September 14 in California.
  6. My surgery date is Sept. 14 at Kaiser Fremont. Pre op appt. on the 4 th. I'm really excited.
  7. Yay! Congratulations!! I have the same date. Less than 3 weeks away. I have my pre op on the 4 th. we can do this. ????
  8. My coworker just got sleeved on Monday and she was super worried and had a case of the what ifs... She came out fine and the only compliant she had was a very dry mouth. We can do this!!!
  9. Yes, Kaiser does it all in house so you are automatically covered if you fit their criteria. Fingers crossed for yours to come through!
  10. I wanted the date so bad. I bothered the nurse and surgeon multiple times a week. Now that I have my date and it's less than 3 weeks away I'm so nervous. I'm happy too but mostly nervous. Sept. 14 is that magic date. Wow, I'm so ready for this!!
  11. I live in San Leandro, I would be interested.
  12. I did optifast as a diet last year. After the first three days it gets easier. The doctor said you can start with 6-7 packets a day every two hours then work down to 5-6 a day. But do what your doc says of course. But just remember it gets easier after the 3 day. ????
  13. Hi Sandy, I'm 32 and I just started my diet to hot my pre op goal weight. They won't let me snack. ????. I've lost 5 lbs in three days so it must be working. I'm undivided between the sleeve and bypass. How are you making your decision?
  14. I feel you. Just today I felt like boo boo while having sex. Everything was bouncing up and down. I think it's very unattractive. My husband is sweet and supporting but I know he must see what I feel. When I loose the weight I hope everything improves. Though he says he doesn't want me to loose too much weight. I'm not sure how to take that. Hang in there.
  15. Hi, I'm sorry to hear that. I'm not on Protein shakes but on an extremely low cal diet. I havnt weight myself yet. I figured I give it at least a week. I did Optifast in the past and lost weight fast. But they told me not to use it this time. When I work out I gain weight too. But you get healthy. Seems weird not to lose though. I wish you the best of luck. I hope We reach my goal weight (25 lbs lighter for me )!!!
  16. It's my first day in the diet. It's so hard. I feel hungry. But I'm not going to eat because I k is it will make it that much longer to reach my pre-op goal weight. Plus I had to make dinner for my husband. Ugh... How did you guys do it?
  17. I was referred on Wednesday and I just got a phone call that my orientation is next Thursday. I'm hoping to find out more then.
  18. Hi All, I'm just starting the journey and I wanted to know what to expect in terms of the whole process. I was just referred, so what's next? Thank you!
