Pillar2butterfly got a reaction from erisp in 3 more months?
I had to do 6 months. Honestly, it goes by so slow and fast at times at other times. I was glad I had to wait that long, because it took me that long to get my mind prepared for the lifestyle change. I don't think I would have been prepared with less than that. It took me so long to mentally absorb the eating changes and mental obstacles. You need to think of it like this...the insurance is paying a nice chuck of change to assist in your change..they want to make sure you are really ready and really healthy enough for this.

You've set your boundaries, and he is ignoring them. No means no...regardless of what it is. Honestly, if he cannot handle only being friends with you, then you need to distance yourself from him. I understanding losing a male friend like this...its hard, but it is also hard loving and caring for someone that doesn't feel that way back...if he can't handle it, then you need to cut the friendship string...until he can handle it. A friend respects you at all times.

OMG...this thread made me laugh, which is so good on a Monday morning!
" Her full name isn't for the faint at heart and is used on bad days (it rhymes)." Too funny!
I'll have to come up with a name. LOL Good stuff!!!

People are killing police officers. Police officers are scared and some are trigger fast. Terrorists are gunning down people in nightclubs and running families down with trucks. College campuses are under attack, high schools are using metal detectors.
Innocent people are losing their lives around the world because of senseless hate.
Yet here we are, on this forum, worried about who is eating crap, drinking and smoking four days post op? People are fighting about straws, about carbonation, about f'ing popcorn? People are pointing fingers, cyber stalking, name calling, accusing, getting defensive, cursing at, reporting, conspiring against... All because they don't "like" someone they never met?
I'm not crying innocent, I'm certainly no angel, but I am tired. In light of all that is happening in this world, is a post that can easily be skipped, or a poster who can be ignored, really worth all this nonsense?
Personally, I'm done. Have at it, folks. Do what you want to do. Live your life, eat what you want, ask for advice and love it or hate it, take it or leave it. It's your choice.
While you're doing all that? Hug your kids, call your mother, text your best friend, smile at a stranger, give a homeless guy a gift card for a meal, take Cookies to a neighbor, pay the toll of the lady behind you...
Tell your loved ones how much you care about them and take a minute to care about a stranger, too.
    Spread a little love. Please.

Why is it in Cialis commercials, the couples are in separate bath tubs? Shouldn't they be together, isn't that the point? Also, why bath tubs? I think it is fairly inconvenient to have sex in a tub, not impossible, but certainly inconvenient.

So today I put my kayak in. I paddled through mangroves and popped out in Biscayne Bay. I floated, ate my hummus and read Dave Barry. It was heaven.
It's something I've been looking forward to all winter and felt awesome now that I'm down a few pounds. I will have to pick up a seat cushion though because ouch!! Some of my padding is apparently gone!

Thanks to everyone who has been contributing to this discussion in a positive way. I am sorry this discussion needs to happen at all. I try very hard to maintain a positive environment at BariatricPal.
I do see the overly frequent negative posts, often by veterans. I understand that veterans may not have had the exact same challenges and questions as the current newbies, or that veterans feel they handled those challenges better and got their “own” answers to their questions. Maybe the veterans have (yep, it’s possible!) forgotten the minute to minute anxieties (“Can I eat this?” “Should I feel this?” “What if I didn’t hit my Protein? ” “Do I need to call my doctor?”) surrounding weight loss surgery. Maybe veterans didn’t have those particular anxieties and questions. Maybe veterans are simply sick of seeing and answering the same questions a million times.
Guess what: you don’t have to answer! Please don’t, if you don’t have a constructive answer to add to the conversation. If you feel a question is “too stupid” for you to answer politely, don’t answer it. You’ll save yourself some time, and you won’t hurt anyone’s feelings. Someone who does feel it’s worth the time to write a helpful, positive answer will get to it eventually.
And I know it’s not just veterans who can be rude. Please, everyone, we are all here for the same reason: to live healthier with whatever support we can get from each other. So what if there are already 105 posts on "can I eat pizza? " If you don't want to answer the 106th post, don't. Don't be rude about it.
Please do report any posts you see as negative or hostile. I won’t tolerate them, and you shouldn’t have to, either.

So I'm a year out from my surgery, and last night I was thinking about the things no one told me I would experience post op.
    Here's my list:
Sensitive tummy! I used to have a cast Iron stomach preop. I could eat ANYTHING and not get sick. I'm talking about food left out for a day or two, weird combinations of food, anything. NOW - my stomach is very sensitive and temperamental. I can eat something one day and be fine, and eat it the next day and it will send me straight to the bathroom. Tummy issues 2 - Before surgery, I used to be able to "hold" my poo (sorry if TMI) if I was in an inconvenient place (like work or the mall) until I got home. Not anymore. When I gotta go, I gotta go! And I cramp when I have to go. Drinking Water is a CHORE. I didn't realize how much of a chore drinking water would be - especially with the "no eating and drinking at the same time" rule. Presurgery I could drink 64 oz of water a day easily. Now, not so much. Deep down I thought being "skinny" would fix a majority of my issues. NOPE! My butt hurts constantly from sitting on things! I guess since some of the padding is gone, LOL. My refrigerator is a constant churn of leftovers. I am having trouble making peace with throwing away leftovers but I have to constantly. I don't get nervous about having physicals at the doctor anymore. If I eat the wrong thing late at night (there's one Protein Bar in particular) it gives me indigestion really bad. What are some of the things that no one told you that you're experiencing post op?

Ok, here's another one....if you are fortunate enough not to have a disability...DO NOT PARK IN THE HANDICAPPED SPACES! DO NOT USE THE HANDICAPPED BATHROOM STALLS AND DO NOT USE THE HANDICAPPED SHOPPING CARTS! My daughter is disabled, after having 4 open heart surgeries in her short 24 years of life....she needs these things! If you use these and do not need them, you are an assf^ck.
