I can understand how you feel my family is very active in church and many of my family members are ministers and pastors but when my uncle (who is a pastor) had the surgery they were all very supportive. Many of my family members struggle with obesity and so I do want to be able to show them that the surgery is a good option especially for those of us who are in our 20's. My plan is to tell them after I have the surgery done in case anyone decides to be negative. The people that I have decided to tell have been very supportive and are praying for everything to work out for me.

    Wish I'd known...
How much it was going to hurt when I woke up from surgery. And then, how quickly it would get better over the next few days. That during the first two weeks, fluids (and Miralax) are even more important than Protein to prevent Constipation. That was my only hellish moment on this journey. About the Dreaded Week-3 Stall. Consider yourself warned, and read this... http://www.dsfacts.com/weight-loss-stall-or-plateau.php. That I wouldn't miss my fat-guy foods as much as I thought. As others have said, we get cold... alot. As others have said, our bony butts hurt... alot. As others have said, we go through clothes like poop through a goose. That non-green carbs, starches, and sugar are the enemy (at least for me). That calories and fat don't really matter as long as we're not also eating carbs. That walking is so darned much fun. That beef and turkey Jerky are secret weapons against hunger, especially on the road. That planning is the most important thing we can do to ensure success. And that if we follow all the rules, the pounds will fall off and we can make it to goal weight.

    So many things...
Of course, being able to wear all the clothes I have that no longer fit Not having to wear a sweater/sleeved top year-round to cover my arms Wearing a bathing suit in front of people, ideally one that isn't a grandma-style swimdress Being able to hike with my dogs or walk around at a museum or festival without crippling back pain Not feeling like I have to hold a throw pillow on my lap to cover my belly fat when I'm sitting on a couch or something in front of people Being able to get up off the floor more easily; I like to sit on the floor! Not worrying about breaking a chair or step stool Not being flushed and sweaty all the freakin' time, and not constantly worrying that I smell because of it Being able to start dancing again, whether it's taking a modern dance class or going swing dancing with my husband, or just goofing around with friends Feeling like I can sit on my husband's lap or have him pick me up without hurting him Feeling more attractive, maybe even... sexy? Not panicking when I get a notification that someone has tagged me in a photo on Facebook Being able to stop pretending that I don't want to join in on activities, when really I'm just too fat to keep up
