I'm waiting on my date. But occasionally I do the liquid diet to prepare myself for it. It's not so bad. The hardest part was my husband cooking and eating in front of me. If I came home and the whole house had already ate then it wasn't so bad. I put boulion cube and some soul seasoning in Water. Tastes yummy. I would drink that twice if I needed to feel full. Also my NUT told me that slim fast or Protein Shakes counted for liquid diet too. So that really helped me. Just stay busy on the days you have to do liquid and you should be ok. Good luck.

I lost 6 lbs in one week. I drank lots of Water. I had coffee and Creamer for Breakfast, slim fast shake for lunch, small portion of meat and veggies for dinner. A couple nights I drank broth and had no dinner. But that was hard to do. I got a little nervous that I wasn't going to meet my weight goal so I also took a laxative and Water pills. Good luck

I am pre-op as well. My NUT just told me what to order for after surgery. I just went to Bariatric Advantage and ordered Advanced Multi EA chewable Mixed fruit (60ct) for $36.00 (this has all of the Vitamins in one chewale) and Bariatric Advantage Calcium Crystal, (60 servings) $15.10.

I am so glad you posted this post. I just got thru reading a really crazy post on here about ice cream, GEEZ my head hurt after reading that. Although I felt bad for the person that posted it, however I do understand why people were hard on him. Because You Cant Lose Weight With Ice Cream! I haven't had my surgery yet, just had my last nutrition appt waiting on Insurance approval. But I will honestly share that I am completely gullible and will read anything and think "hey he's having ice cream, maybe I can too." This top 10 link really put it into perspective for me. I saved it to my blog that I am doing for my own sake so I can read it later. Thanks for sharing. This is not the fix all, we will always have struggles, no more soda or french fries or pizza. It's the same old diet I've been doing for years, the surgery is just a jump start. It's time to get serious!

@@beingfree What's your stats now? I know you just had surgery. How's it going? my last weigh in is tomorrow then we submit to insurance for approval.

I started the slim fast diet to lose a little before my last weigh in appt before we submit to Insurance. It is 2 shakes a day and a 500 calorie meal. It is definitely tough. I can't imagine only Clear Liquids. Hang in there. Try to keep yourself busy and pre-occupied.

I have been doing the slim fast diet lately to get myself ready for the pre-op diet. 2 shakes and a 500 calorie meal. Same thing. It is tough for sure. But I am on day 5 and I have lost 8 lbs. Good luck to you.

Congrats on making the decision. Better late than never. I am new too. In process. I will probably get a November date. Just stay positive. This site is very helpful.

I also had an abnormal EKG. I am only 38 years old and in excellent shape other than weight. They sent me to a cardiologist. Then he ordered a stress test and echo. Was really no big deal. I did both of the tests and they came out normal. I've been cleared for surgery.

Be careful not to lose too much if your insurance company has a minimum BMI. That's what my dilema is right now. I have to be above 40 BMI but I cannot gain any weight from my first appt. Which is about a 4 lb difference between the 2. Good luck.

I have this app too and I love it!

I'm so excited for you. I'm in the same boat. Love this site but have nothing to say just yet, waiting till I'm a pro at it. I have 2 more Nutrition classes to do, psych eval, and then my last appt with the Dr before they submit for approval. When is surgery What insurance do you have?

Good luck with your surgery. I hope you get approved. My husband had the lap band in 2012. He wishes he could have sleeve. He has trouble keeping things down. He is very good about will power and so he has kept majority of his weight off with a small slip here and there. I am having sleeve in November and he said if he could do it over again he would've chosen sleeve.

I can be like that too. Eat and Eat. Which is what got me in the perdicament. My surgery is in November. Good luck with your joruney. This is a great place to search for support.

I think that being nervous or even scared is completely normal. I am super excited for my surgery in November and wish I could move it up. Lots of people have this surgery every day and they do fine. You will be just fine. You will only throw up if you eat or drink too much. Just be very careful. You will know when you are full. Dont gulp, just sip. Of course I havent gone thru the surgery yet either so I am not a pro but these are things I tell myself. I hope you will find peace. Keep reading on this site, it is great motivation.

My husband had the band, also participated in a research study where they fold in your stomach and suture it to make it smaller. I noticed in 2012 when we went to his seminar they were pushing lap bands because of this research study. But at my seminar June 2015 they werent pushing one particular surgery but informing us about all the options including weight loss statistics and the facts. I chose to go with the sleeve (surgery will be in November) because of watching what my husband has gone thru. I do not have the will power my husband has, therefore I wanted my stomach removed. He has had lots of issues of things getting stuck (dry meat) If I had to guess people choose lap band because it is the least complicated surgery. My husband said if he had to choose all over again he would definitely go with the sleeve.

Gosh I am so sorry you are going thru these challenges. I'm not a expert in WLS but I am pretty sure this isnt normal. Hang in there. And thanks for sharing your story. God bless you and your journey. I hope that others post on here and give you support. This is a great website with a lot of caring people. I hope you find the peace you need soon. ((Hugs))

I'm looking forward to being a happy person again! I want to go to outings and not be ashamed. I want my kids and hubby to be proud of me for losing weight and becoming healthy. I want to wear clothes in my closet that havent been worn in years. I too have problems wiping. I want to have sex with my hubby. I want him to show me off to his friends. I want to be able to wear lingerie from the store instead of special ordering it and then not wear it because I am too ashamed. I'm looking forward to having the energy to get out of bed, come to work, and be more active exercising.

My surgeon said only one day too. But I did it the other day just to see if I could do it and I was fine. I put bouillion cube in Water with some soul seasoning. I drank a slimfast shake for Breakfast and lunch. And I had sf Jello for a snack. I did not try the sf popicles but that sounds good too. I would think Tomato Soup would be good too.
