Hi guys
I am Helen and I am new to the weight loss journey. I have been going to weight management meetings for six months and I went to a seminar the other day to discuss the options for the operation. I should be asleep as I have to catch a train in 7 hours to go to see the surgeon but I am so wound up about it that sleep is the last thing on my mind. Is this common?
A little bit about me I am 47 years old and I live in Shrewsbury England but I travel 2 hours to Birmingham for my treatment. I am married with grown up children and have 6 grandchildren and my husband and I will have been married for 25 years on October 3rd.

if you can imagine a clock face on a map of the UK we are about 10:00 o clock between Birmingham and Wales. We have wet and cold winters but nothing like you get and we have wet and cold summers with the occasional week of sun. Then we all burn because we are not used to it. Thank you for your help tonight it has really helped :-)

Thank you Daisee68, you not wrong my stomach feels like it a been on several roller coaster rides tonight and it feels a bit queasy. I have written my list so I am all ready, watch out surgeon here I come. Will let you know how it goes, wish me luck.

I hope you feel the warmth here. I am 61 and live in a small town in MN I am retired due to a lot of medical crud. I am raising 4 grand kids I will glad when this is over so I can do more with my family. I have 3 meetings to go then I hope my surgery will be over. Do keep in touch people really care on this site Ali

Welcome! I too am 47 and I just had my surgery 5 days ago (June 4). The process is definitely a roller coaster ride so your emotions are very normal. It is exciting to meet with the surgeon because it is starting to become more real! Make a list of your questions to ask and enjoy the excitement! Good luck tomorrow and let us know how it goes!
