Hi Guys sorry for the delay in updating but a sleepless night and a very long and busy day going to see the surgeon finally took its toll. I went for my train at 07:45hrs and got back at 17:00hrs I sat down on the sofa and went straight to sleep. The meeting with the surgeon was fine, I should have listened to you guys and not worried but never mind. We discussed my health issues and the types of surgery and I am now on the waiting list for a roux-en-y which should happen in the next four months. I was weighed and in the last six months between slim meetings and joining the gym I have gone from 143kgs to 125kgs they seem very happy with my progress so I will keep on trying. I am back to see the weight management team next week and the dietitian the week after. Goodness this weight loss journey keeps you busy. Thanks for all of you support it was very helpful. Alicia let me know what part of England you have connections and I will send you what information I can if you would like. TTFN

Hi guys I am Helen and I am new to the weight loss journey. I have been going to weight management meetings for six months and I went to a seminar the other day to discuss the options for the operation. I should be asleep as I have to catch a train in 7 hours to go to see the surgeon but I am so wound up about it that sleep is the last thing on my mind. Is this common? A little bit about me I am 47 years old and I live in Shrewsbury England but I travel 2 hours to Birmingham for my treatment. I am married with grown up children and have 6 grandchildren and my husband and I will have been married for 25 years on October 3rd. If anyone is about and fancies a chat I am here so just say hi. if you can imagine a clock face on a map of the UK we are about 10:00 o clock between Birmingham and Wales. We have wet and cold winters but nothing like you get and we have wet and cold summers with the occasional week of sun. Then we all burn because we are not used to it. Thank you for your help tonight it has really helped :-)

Thank you Daisee68, you not wrong my stomach feels like it a been on several roller coaster rides tonight and it feels a bit queasy. I have written my list so I am all ready, watch out surgeon here I come. Will let you know how it goes, wish me luck.

Hi I am Helen and I am also at the beginning of my weight loss journey, I am meeting the surgeon tomorrow morning and I should really be asleep. I don't know why but I am really stressed and anxious about this meeting but I am sure it will go fine. I cannot mentor you because we are at the same point but I would be grateful for the metaphorical holding of hands and the mutual support. A little about me I am 47 and have been married to my wonderful husband for 25 years this October. I have 3 grown up step children and six step grandchildren and I am auntie to two lovely nephews.
