  1. Well I got approved 3 weeks after my initial consultation and now I am sitting around waiting for my dr's office to call me back to schedule. It is my dr's office that is dragging their feet.
  2. What I am wondering specifically is how long did your surgeon's office wait to give you a surgery date after everything was approved. Same day, a few days, a week, longer....?
  3. My insurance approved me 2 days ago. I have been trying to get a surgery date since then, but the scheduler told me: "We did receive your approval. As I explained yesterday, there is a process that we follow and this will go through an in office clearance. After that your file will be sent to me and I will schedule you in the order that I receive it." Before the approval all she said was that she had to have the approval first before scheduling. I am so irritated. Just wondering if this is normal to wait for scheduling after approval.
  4. A surgery date that is. My insurance told me on the phone that they approved my surgery yesterday. They said it will be faxed to my surgeon tomorrow. I gave the authorization number to my doctors office, but they won't schedule anything until they get the fax.
  5. Oh that sucks, so hoping we can both get this done in the time frame we need it in.
  6. I guess my email got the ball rolling, they submitted my info today.
  7. If the dr hasn't submitted to the insurance yet I can't call and bug the insurance. . I sent another email asking if we could at least schedule my surgery contingent on insurance approval. We will see what they say.
  8. Never mind, I was told today that my file is "in line to be submitted by the first of next week". I am so beyond mad because they told me 2 weeks ago they would submit today,
  9. I am just a newbie in the pre op stage, but from what I have read you should be fine at the 600 calorie range at first. Fitness Pal isn't set up to advise you on healthy calories for post wls
  10. Maybe the site should have a place to buy/sell/trade protein drinks people didn't like. I am getting ready to buy some isopure I really like the ones I have tried.
  11. My surgeon's office will be sending my stuff to the insurance company tomorrow. I will be on pins and needles waiting to hear back. I am still hoping to get a July surgery date.
  12. My paperwork should be ready tomorrow
  13. Well I would have mine submitted a day early, but apparently my psychiatrist hasn't sent my evaluation yet. Aggravating! how many days did it take to get approval?
  14. @@cusoon how did you get a surger date before the June 30th change in criteria? My Dr is waiting until tomorrow to even submit.
  15. Nice surgeon, mine will only be 7 days but it is 3-4 protein shakes a day plus all the clear liquids that I want. Luckily only the first meal post-op will be clear then it is full liquids for 2 weeks and then soft( not puréed for 2 weeks.
  16. What does your pre-op consist of? It is so strange to me how it varies so much between surgeons.
  17. I am almost where you are. I completed all my requirements last week, but am waiting for my Dr. to receive my psych evaluation so they can submit to insurance for approval. I am hoping to get approval very soon so I can get a surgery date. I am nervous about the pre-op diet too. I will have to do 1 week of clear liquids+ protein shakes. Then after surgery my surgeon has the first meal be clear liquids then switches you to full liquids for 2 weeks. Since there full liquids includes cream of wheat and low fat yogurt I think I will be fine on that.
  18. Good luck with your bypass, but you may not end up with dumping syndrome. My surgeon said that many people don't get it at all. Edited to add: I have MS too, no one has mentioned anything about not having one procedure vs another because of it, but I have chosen the sleeve.
  19. I have also tried the mango peach (not bad) and the apple melon (tolerable)
  20. That is what my pre-op diet will consist of although luckily I only have to do a week. I am looking forward to it though, because that will mean the loser's bench will be so close.
  21. I will be hoping you get the sleeve, my dr.'s office said they take out more bands than they put in.
