Good luck!

What does your pre-op consist of? It is so strange to me how it varies so much between surgeons.

I agree @keddykat.

Protein shake for breakfast

Orange for snack

1/2 cup veggies and 3-4 Oz lean meat for lunch and dinner

Frozen popsicle *sugar free* for another snack.

And another protein drink

I'm getting sleeved on July 16th. I started my pre op diet last Tuesday. I am supposed to have a Protein shake for both breakfast and lunch, a lean cuisine or healthy choice meal for dinner and in between if I am hungry or just feel like eating I can have unlimited sugar free Jello, sugar free popsicles or broth.

I'm scheduled for July 14 I start my pre op diet the first

I start my pre-op on the 1st. My surgery is scheduled for July 15th (how are your guys' nerves?!!) - and my pre op diet consists of low carb. Less than 40 g of carbs a day. Liver shrinking diet is what they call it.

mine is also scheduled for the 13th, but I have to do a 2 week pre-op liquid diet. I'm anxious about it.

I start my pre op diet on 6/29. my date is 7/13

its Protein shakes and only veggies. it crazy when i hear all the different diet types some sound better than others.

I'm just trying to stay positive and know that i can do this. Hubby is on board and has agreed to handle meals for kid this week. i told him he will cook and food shop this week for him and the kid and pease, please, no extra Snacks in the house.

Nice surgeon, mine will only be 7 days but it is 3-4 protein shakes a day plus all the clear liquids that I want. Luckily only the first meal post-op will be clear then it is full liquids for 2 weeks and then soft( not puréed for 2 weeks.

I think the closer I get to my date my nerves will be shot. Right now I think that I'm still in dis belief. This has been a long journey

I know what you mean by staying positive. Be strong. We can do this

I will say that around day 4 or 5 things got easier. The scale is really moving so that is a great motivator. I had one friend who cheated on his pre-op diet and the surgeon just sewed him back up without doing the surgery. The smaller the liver and stomach are at the time of surgery, the better job the surgeon can do and the better long-term results you can expect.

I get sleeved in a week and a day and the only thing I know is that it is going to be an adventure.

July 14 here, and I start my 2-week pre-op diet tomorrow. My surgeon's guidelines are Protein shakes to replace 2 meals/day, and then for one meal we're allowed a lean protein and veggies. I'm sure most people pick dinner for the meal with the protein/veggies, but it really doesn't matter which meal it is as long as 2 meals are replaced with shakes. Then we're allowed things like broth, SF Jello, SF popsicles if needed.

Today is my last day before the 2-week diet starts, so….well…let's just say my husband is taking me to Outback Steakhouse tonight LOL. I'm actually really ready for tomorrow and to get this ball rolling.
