High fertility after surgery!
My doc made me sign a form a week before surgery saying I would use 2 forms of birth control post surgery for at least 18 months.

Depression, Anxiety and Anger
Just keep going. Remind yourself every morning why you did this. Write it on your bathroom mirror and read it outloud. I've lost 37 lbs and I'm 2 weeks and 4 days out of surgery!! All you have is to move forward!

Depression, Anxiety and Anger
I share some similar feelings! I miss my comfort. I don't regret the surgery...not until I see for myself all the benefits it might hold. I wish I could lock myself into a studio apartment for like the first 6 months because what I struggle the most with is cooking for my family still. - bless their hearts, I love them - but food is our enemy right now. So, making it, watching them induldge, even their compliments to the chef about how full they are makes me jealous. But - we do what we have to do. This was the right choice - you did it for a reason, be patient and all will prove itself. Good luck!!

The dreaded stall....
Thanks ladies!! Needed to hear this! ♡

The dreaded stall....
Okay ya'll. I've heard of the dreaded 3 week stall period your body goes through...but I'm having it at a week and half post surgery?? I'm 11 days post op and my scale hasn't moved in 3 days!! Discouraging, to say the least. But maybe if I'm not the only one this has happened to....? Sticking to my NUTs plan, not falling off the band wagon, keep on keeping on...I know all of this. Maybe my stall just came early. I was happy losing 1-3 lbs a day - who wouldn't be?!

Marijuana and Life after Bariatric Surgery
Most surgeons do not force you to do a drug test. Just for the record. Lol

Did you ever notice commercials?
Whaaaaaat. I never tried the chocolate turn overs! At this point, I'm glad I didn't. I'm feeling really good, too. I was waking up every morning with 2-3 lbs gone. Now that I'm approaching my 2nd week though, the scale hasn't moved in two days. A little discouraging, but I hear it happens. I'm down 27 lbs since July 1st, including my pre-op diet.

Did you ever notice commercials?
Isn't it crazy?? I was sleeved on the 15th and I seriously couldn't believe it. Papa Murphys is like every other commercial. How are you feeling?

Food on the brain! 6 days post-op
Guys...I had my surgery July 15th. I'm feeling great - gaining more energy every day. But, I can't stop thinking about food! The smell of it, commercials kill me- especially pizza, thinking about a certain meal, visualizing what it looks like on a fork - even dreaming about it! It's kind of torture??? I'm not alone, right? And will this end?? I start my pureed diet tomorrow...I'm hoping with the introduction of more foods I'll calm down a little!

How long did your nausea last?
I'm just 2 days post op and just threw up. Not a huge amount, obviously there isn't a whole lot in there. Normal?

Who says Pre-Op Diet isn't delicious?
It sounds like pre-op diets vary from person to person. Mine consists of less than 40g of carbs a day. That's it. I can eat endless meat, cheese and eggs.

Doctor pro band, I was thinking sleeve
Funny you say this...my doc was complete opposite. I went in thinking I wanted the band. He said 2/3 of people who decide on the band, usually end up with a follow up surgery with the sleeve or bypass. I did more research and did decide on the sleeve. I think a 2nd opinion might be a nice option for you. You want to do what works best for YOU. Don't let a doc make the choice for you. Good luck!!

Who says Pre-Op Diet isn't delicious?
Low carb pre-op diet has not been too shabby. Just gotta get a little creative! 3 days into it and I've dropped 6 lbs! Tonights din-din: 3 eggs, 2 slices of cheese, spinach omelet. Fresh bacon bits to top it off. #nomnomnom #breakfastfordinner

Best protein shakes!
Never thought of changing the flavors with Mio drops! Thanks for all the input. Looks like premier protein for the win - which is exactly what I've been drinking! Just making sure there wasn't a hidden gem somewhere out there...haha. thank you all for the input!

Best protein shakes!
Alright experts...I want to know what the best protein shakes you've tried are. Best bang for your buck, best brand, best tasting, best place to buy them? Share your expertise and secrets! My sleeve is scheduled for July 15th but I'd like to take the opportunity on my pre-op diet to try some different kinds! Lay 'em on me!! Open to all suggestions and flavors - hoping for some variety.

Pre-Op Diet - Day 2
Well - Day 2 on my pre-op diet. I've lost 4 lbs. lol It's amazing what happens to the body when you take away the carbs. So far, so easy. My requirements are to stay below 40g of carbs a day. Yesterday I settled in at measley 26g. I'm really so excited to start this journey. I've been overweight my entire life - from childhood to adulthood. I've tried every diet and exercise routine worth doing without success on my side. I'm anxious and nervous - mostly for the unknown. What are the long term affects? Has there been enough research done? I'm still a young 28 - what happens when I have to live with this quarter of a stomach for the rest of my life? Whatever the obstacles may be, I'm ready. I'm tackling this, I'm doing this and there is absolutely no option to turn back. Glad this website exists and I'm glad I'm not alone on this journey.

Marijuana and Life after Bariatric Surgery
I'll be the odd one out - I smoke weed on the regular. I also live in Washington state where it's legal and I'm a medical marijuana patient. My doc says I'm to treat it like drinking alcohol. Rare. Avoid if possible.
