    From lapband to sleeve? Anyone?

I had band in Dec 09...just had it removed and sleeved in one surgery in Mexico. I am losing again and no stuck moments! Very happy with the decision to get band....even happier to switch to sleeve. Feeling like this time I will get to goal!

    Taco

My friend and I were sleeved on the same day. At like week 7 we were out running an errand and she wanted a taco. I drove through Taco Bell and ordered one. She ate 1/3, I ate 1/3 and my son ate the rest. Lol!

    April bypass buddies.

Yes, I saw a friend of mine doing that too! I have a bottle that holds 16.9 ounces and I just try to finish and fill multiple times. I also do a protein shake in the AM but am never sure if that counts toward liquid. I usually drink water, decaf tea or flavored water. Maybe I should give the jug a try....I am on the go quite a bit so it may not work for me? Thanks for the idea!!!!

    April bypass buddies.

Surgery date 4/27/15 SW 211 CW 179 Had a really long stall weeks 3-6ish. Now losing 2lbs per week. I eat 800-900 calories per day. Protein is in the70-90 range. I rarely get 64 ounces of water in...but try again every day and am getting closer! Need to Excercise more for sure, just walking/jogging now.

    Helping kids

My son is 9 and I went through some of your same thoughts in April. My son is a worrier...he is on anxiety meds. I decided not to tell him. I made sure my legal stuff and guardian info was up to date. He thought I was going with my friend to Mexico while she had surgery (which was kinda true). Well, I called him after surgery and he wanted to know how my surgery went!! So, I came clean and told him it was all fine. Then he wanted pictures...which confused me. It was then that I realized he thought I got a boob job!!! It's a running joke with me bc I always say I'm gonna get boobs. So, at the end, I would say that kids hear everything even when u think they don't. But only u can really answer your heart about telling him or not. Good luck!

    Slowly Gaining/ Not Losing

You are doing great! I had surgery on 4/27 at 211 lbs. Today I weigh 179 and have lost a few clothes sizes. I am on the slower end of loses but still happy! Keep at it and remember the scale is only one form of measurement!

    Menstrual maddness!

Had my surgery on 4/27 and had my period during preop diet. I am not on BC but my bf is fixed. Well...no period for 3 months! But, just started again yesterday on my flight back from Bahamas. My periods before we're always very heavy and lasted 7-10 days. This one seems lighter....hoping shorter too!!
  8. I am in week 10 of VSG and I am doing good. Eating with my boyfriend is a challenge as he always wants to eat out. Well I ordered grilled chicken bites and he brought it with ranch dip. So, I carelessly dipped two bites in the dressing. Omg I felt instantly sick on bite two. I have been up all night with ranch burps and indigestion! I have tried taking Opremozol and a chewable acid tab. As long as I belch I feel relief but if I hold it in it burns like fire! Lesson learned!!!!

    Ranch dressing...never again!

Most restaurants I have mentioned my card to have a policy about kids meals being only for under a certain age. Prob would work at buffet but I haven't braved that yet. I usually take a friend and we share. Lol

    Ranch dressing...never again!

I felt weak and sick right away like I bottomed out...that feeling went away after 10 minutes or so. I was thinking maybe the carbs or sugars? I had similar experience with store bought peanut butter. From now on, my chicken will be plain....and I am not taking process foods as lightly!!!!
  11. I was in patient 2 days and then 2 more days at a nearby hotel. But I traveled to Mexico for it
  12. My surgery was maybe 20 minutes longer for band amd port removal step. The Dr. did warn me that a lot can happen with the band over time. He said if the band had emulsified into the stomach he would have to do the removal, send me home to heal and return for sleeve in a few months. I was nervous, but he was confident as he felt my port and noted my prior incisions. All went well and I am sooo glad I did it.

No energy 3 weeks post op

Took me six weeks to have energy and I still get random mid day tiredness.
  15. This post made me laugh bc I am a skinny girl dying to get out of this fat suit. I have always joked that God keeps me fat so I won't be trashy. Not sure I will brave a bikini but my friends have been warned to call the fashion police if I take things too far! Lol

    Weakness

I felt GREAT the first week after surgery...euphoric! Lol...then my body was like oh no you will not make me move! I was super tired weeks 3-9.... just ended week 10 and finally got energy back!

6 weeks out, my post op VSG

Love reading the reminders on how much lost weight is in comparison to our pre-surgery attempts. We get so excited to be a year out and time and the scale can't move fast enough. It's nice to get on here and be reminded that we are doing great and that it's a process! I don't want to wish a year of my life away... I am enjoying this ride! And when I slip and forget that I wanted to enjoy it... I simply come back here and read more posts!! Love this site! We got this!

I am 10 weeks out and you are inspiring me! I was completely drained of energy until about a week ago! Just now feeling like I could work out but not a clue on where to start.

Protein Shakes - milk or water?

Per my Dr, taking more than 30g of protein at one meal is the max absorption. Here is my morning go to: 4oz Fairlife 2% Hazelnut Sugar free syrup 1/2 scoop of Cappuccino protein powder 1 tsp folgers decaf crystals 1/4 frozen banana (for texture) This makes about 6-8 ounces of liquid which is easy to finish in 15 minutes. If I use 8oz of water or milk then the full scoop of protein adds volume and I take forever to finish it for the same protein. I figure if I get 25-30g protein in the morning in 15 minutes then after 30 minutes I can start getting my 64 ounces of water (which is like constant focus bw meals and wait time). I love reading what others do for protien!! Let's chat it up!

    Someone slap me please!

From reading the forums, there is a wide variety on should and should nots. I agree with the elimination of old habits but I also recognize we are human beings. I have had pizza two bites or so... do I have it daily? Noooo. I want to be successful. I definitely don't do carbonation. I make sure to aim for the protein and water requirements. My biggest lag now is really getting exercise. I am at week 10 and just now getting energy levels up. We all have to find what works for us... and yet not make us miserable. For me, that means occasionally two bites of "eliminated". I log it on my fitness pal and I stay under calorie goals. We still have to support each other in spite of our differences. We got this!
  21. I went with my friend but we both had surgery on the same day...so we were kind of on our own as far as having someone there while we were "out of it". We used Dr. Ortiz thru A Lighter Me. The entire team treated us like family and I was never concerned a bit about the whole trip. Good luck!!
