Were Surgery Twins! Are you doing the sleeve or bypass? I am getting the sleeve in 14 HOURS - EEK.

Day 5 of liquid diet- surgery in 1.5 days.... 9am on Wednesday. Today driving to get my EKG and I see a bag of chips on the ground... for a split second I was outraged someone would waste them... then laughed. This liquid diet got me feeling like food had feelings- ha!

Vitamins, Gatorade zero and all my post op preparation came in today... getting so real! 3 more sleeps and then I head to the hospital!

At the end of every day I need to celebrate getting through liquid diet!

Wondering how much people are paying out of pocket for surgery with Blue Shield- I am looking at the plans and am so confused by the coinsurance etc... any advice appreciated!

I am currently employed and my employer excludes bariatric surgery on their insurance policies. I have been through appeals for the last year and am finally just ready to go out and purchase a healthcare plan outside of my employer and pay the extreme out of pocket cost for the premium to have this medically necessary surgery... My question is there ia the bronze, silver and gold etc Blue shield plans but all say they "cover" bariatric- How much did you guys actually pay out of pocket for the surgery, hospital stay etc? There is an app called eat slower that helps remind you to take longer to chew and to take time between bites. I have been practicing that

Congrats on your loss- I haven't started yet, however, I had fought the fight with undies due to size and the best ones I have found are Fruit of the Loom Women's Plus-Size Non-Binding Brief PantiesI buy them on amazon $10 for a pack of 3. I like them because they are breathable, comfortable and they don't roll down or up. Hope this helps!

The best way to describe how it taste is liquid chalk with a light hint of metal! With a strawberry scent! Not great tasting but painless and over very quickly!
