Gallbladder removal 5 months post sleeve

I've been having issues for the last month or so. No pain, but a lot of vomiting and nausea. HIDA scan put me on the wrong side of borderline. Debating what to do next. I understand this is not uncommon. How are you feeling?

    Uncertain futures

Somehow I missed this thread. Jenifer, I'm so sorry about this. You know my thoughts and prayers are with you. I wish I had some great words of wisdom, or magic, but all I've got is that I'm sending my best energy your way and have crossed everything that will cross for luck.
  6. @@lexiemustang I did that too. We had this little norwegian mexican place where you could get a plate of nachos and pitcher of beer for $2.50. My roommate and I would pick up cans during the week and turn them in for $$ at the grocery store. We'd go on Friday nights (after having starved ourselves all week). At midnight, the Kum & Go (I kid you not) next door would sell their remaining donuts for the day at $1.00 per dozen. WTH was I thinking???
  7. A couple of years ago I stopped at a gas station on the way to work to get a donut not even to get gas. I picked out 2 big ones - like apple fritters. They guy said, they're old. I said, I'll take them anyway. He looked at me with utter disdain and said, you can have them for free (you miserable slob).

    Regrets?

My stomach and I argue a lot. Its an ornery thing, growling all the time and making me nauseated daily. I did go thru a barfing phase but that could have been from some meds i was taking. But even with the nausea and vloopy stomach, I feel so much better, healthier, more confident, more energetic, more comfortable, and prettier than I have in a long time. Even as yucky as I feel sometimes, I haven't regretted the decision for a minute. Weighed in the balance, the benefits are greater for me. Good luck to you.

So glad I found this site. :)

Welcome! I love this site too. Its good for support, redirection, reality checks and sometime some really funny stuff.
  10. @@Lester Burnham yes that's exactly my issue. Their opinion can set us back, take us from feeling good to feeling like a loser, and its wrong. I see it frequently on this forum and wonder how those drs keep patients. All loss is good and slow has inherent advantages anyway. There's my 2 cents.

    Food funeral...

No food funerals for me. I guess I felt it would give that/those foods too much power and I'd think about it/them all the time. I researched all the healthy goodies I'd make and tried them out on the FAM until I was cleared. That said, I'm no angel, but the habits I have trouble with are too much as opposed to wrong stuff. I am liking eating more healthy stuff and make it a game to see bow I can replicate stuff my family likes into healthier versions for me. But if I knew the world were ending tomorrow I'd go have Mexican, Sangria and Beignets.
  14. It annoys me that some drs seem to have a set of expectations that put everyone in the same box. I think it puts extra stress on us to meet these expectations that may or may not be right for our very individual selves. So long as im losing I'm fine with me, even when its slow. Fortunately my Drs expectations are simply downward progress. I think it relieves a lot of pressure. Why no gum?

Agree, you gotta make the decision for you. That said, for me, this has been awesome. My highest weight was 278 and I'm now about 210. I feel so great, so much more energy, so much more comfortable and confident in my own skin. I'm 50 and for me was so much more about being healthy than about l looking good, though looking good ain't bad. Still, it's a big deal and isn't right for everyone. Do your research and whatever you decide I'm sure will be best for you. The rest is noise.

    Baby fever?

Well, no, at 50 I'd have to shoot myself, but I wouldn't mind a grand baby. :> But it better come from the 28 year old and not the 16 year old.
  18. Hello Bariatric Pals, I am four months out from surgery and have begun to have what turns out to be issues with an abnormally functioning gall bladder. I've been having nausea and projectiles from both ends (sorry people). I had a HIDA scan and I'm borderline, on the wrong side. I have not had any pain though. My dr wants to remove it but has given me 2 weeks to see if meds will help. Of note, I'm on a lot of antibiotics for another medical issue and I believe some of the nausea may be due to those. I'd kind of rather not go under the knife if I don't have to, but it it will make things better, I would. I haven't felt like exercising (and of course concern about being too far from a WC) and I've been eating some comfort foods (cream of rice, s/f pudding, etc), so it is a bit of a problem. Do any of you who've had their gall bladders removed have advice on whether you'd do it over, how you felt before and after removal, are there things you have to do or eat, or can't do or eat? Or just any other guidance? Any counsel much appreciated.

Share your rants about the fashion industry!

I'm tallish - 5'8"- but I have a wing span of 6ft (I'm like a gorilla). I can't ever find anything long enough for my arms. I have a relatively small chest, so all that extra fabric makes me look untailored (and I can't sew more than a button). On the other hand, my upper arms are fat so I need a bigger shirt so I can even move my arms. Which brings me back round to the extra chest fabric. My legs are comparatively small but my waist is big, so I can't find pants either. Argh. I do have tiny little pixie feet. And also: I HATE that stores are so hot. Who wants to try on clothes when its hot?! And I hate how packed together the clothes are in most stores. I understand about $ per foot, but I think many stores go overboard and do themselves a disservice with this. When things get messy no one cares to try to keep stuff organized.

    January Sleevers ❄️

Well my January colleagues, I've had a rough month too. Lots of mixed up stomach nausea etc. Found out my gallbladder is not functioning correctly and looks like it needs to come out. I had a week of pudding and cream of rice but trying to be back on track. I had hoped to be under 200 by today but ah well. Haven't been to the gym but have been gardening, don't tell my lyme dr. Contender great but it was a lovely weekend.Best to you all.
