Does anyone follow a ketogenic diet? Given our lower caloric goals, what do your macros look like?

@@yerawizardamy I totally agree with you. I was 435 pounds and got sleeved because it was affecting my health. Even now, I just look forward to being like a size 16 or 18. I love being full figured, and my husband loves it too. It's a happy medium.

Going in I was nervous and my mind was blank. All I remember thinking was how stark white the room was. Coming out... I remember shouting, "oh, the pain. It hurts!" Bwahahaha

Y'all just made my day! I'm cracking up!

"You know your husband is going to leave you if you lose too much weight" - really??
Or to my husband, "you better watch her, now" - huh?
"Is your husband ok with you losing so much weight?" - idk no one asked him if he was ok with me being so fat!!! Wtf?!
"You've lost so much weight I didn't even recognize you" - Lies. I still look like myself..
"Have you lost weight?? Good, keep it up." - excuse me????
"Wow, you've lost a ton of weight. Were you trying?" - um... duh!!!
Ok so I've lost almost 120 pounds and I'm still over 300 so it's not like I'm skinny...or anything remotely close to skinny, but yet I'm getting these comments. Maybe I'm being sensitive but I find these comments in poor taste. My husband and I have been together for 14 years, married for 11. Yes, this is the smallest I've been since we met, but I would hope that by now people don't think that his commitment is based solely on physical attraction. Ok, I just needed a place to vent this frustration, lol I added a picture just for reference... -
I think it depends on who's paying. My insurance will pay for skin removal, but only by my bariatric surgeon. If I want it done by a plastic surgeon, I'm on my own...
On Skin Tight, I would like to think the show pays, and maybe she though Dr. Now would do a good job??? I don't know.
As far are her shape afterward, I think she was a touch too thin and would benefit from some muscle mass. She was just very skinny. to me.

Thanks. I was curious because my exercise has not been consistent at all. I am trying to find some consistency because I'd like to maximize my losses, but it's difficult. I don't get much exercise, except for walking, but I'm finding that that is definitely not enough.

Has anyone gotten to goal with little/no exercise?
For those that have reached goal, is it hard to stop losing once you get there?

I feel like the VSG surgery really saved my life, not just because it's helping me to lose the weight I couldn't lose on my own, but because it uncovered a couple of health problems that had gone unnoticed in my regular checkups, even pregnancy.
During my vsg, the surgeon discovered a tumor on my stomach. They sent it to oncology and it was malignant. It was on the portion of my stomach that was removed, so it's no longer an issue, but I shudder to think what would've happened had I not sought the vsg.
Then, during the pre-op testing they discovered a staghorn kidney stone on my left kidney. I had to see a urologist and the stone is so large and the "horns" are so long that I have to have surgery to have it removed. The doctor wants me to get down to about 250 pounds so that he can safely do the surgery. Luckily, it hasn't damaged my kidney. Again, what would've happened if I hadn't gotten the vsg?
I also have gall stones, but the surgeon decided to leave my gallbladder as long it's not bothering me.
So, I'm grateful for my sleeve, but "angry" with my body. But then if I hadn't gotten so fat, I wouldn't have known about all these issues. I'm in a fog and feel overwhelmed by all of this. Can anyone relate?

Highly regular! I was even rewarded by getting my period on the day of surgery. Ugh!!!!!

I was doing some research about my anemia and Iron deficiency and read that it causes decreased mental function, so i may have 2 things at play. I do feel better mentally since I've started taking the iron supplement, so maybe that's it.

@@OKCPirate TED talk?
Opps, sorry, the link disapeared...https://www.ted.com/talks/elizabeth_loftus_the_fiction_of_memory
I listened to it. Are you suggesting that maybe my memory wasn't that good to begin with and I imagined that I had a better memory? lol

@@OKCPirate OK, so based on some basic research, there is a link between ghrelin and memory. There are no (free) definitive studies; however, there is indication that the reduction in ghrelin does affect the memory. Apparently, the hormone stimulates the portions of the brain involved with making memories.
This also explains why my memory was so great pre-sleeve, lol

Yeah, I've been doing it all along. It's the only way I know how to eat and feel satisfied. Here's today. Definitely over my calories. I was so hungry. ????
