I haven't had the op yet but I got all my meds for the next three months in liquid form from my Doctor. I have the op a week on Thursday. He's left it on repeat prescription in case I need a further 3 months too. Kate

Goodness what a disappointing meeting! I'm not sure why they don't have a set price and why would it be £2,000 cheaper with the same group? It seems a big difference. I am paying £10,000 .. is that near to the price you know from the hospital further away? If you even the teeniest bit unsure then maybe looking around for another surgeon or bariatric group would put your mind at rest. Im so sorry Hugs Kate

I swear by coconut oil for lots of things, especially dry skin. I never use aftersun anymore and I never peel. I have a thyroid issue and one side effect has always been dry skin. I used to spend a fortune on expensive heavy creams but now just pop along to the health food shop and buy natural raw coconut oil for under £5.00. It helps strengthen my nails, conditions my hair (only use a little!) and cleans my teeth instead of mouthwashes. Might be worth a try and it isn't expensive if you don't like it! Hugs Kate

I am planning 3 weeks off. I get paid so that's not an issue and they know what I am having done and allowed me to take sick anyway. I have a busy job with lots of getting in and out of the car, dealing with emergencies and lots of stress so I feel I need the time off or I will go in and end up having to take more time off. Hello Hanna, Nice to meet you and well done with keeping up with all your programme meetings!! It’s a huge decision to make and I think if we are honest, most of us have nerves every now and again heading up to the operation. I haven't had my sleeve yet (its 1 week 5 days away) but I have had the feeling of my tummy turning occasionally when I have realised how near it is. Think about all the health benefits, you're young and want to be healthy. I'm older and wish I had thought of this years ago. I am not even thinking about negative things, it WILL work, I WILL keep to it and maintain, there’s no room for doubt…. just that little tummy turn every now and again. Take your time reading the forums, pal up with people here that you click with and YouTube can be a great place to see people talk about the ups and downs of WLS. I think everyone is honest about their own particular journey. Just remember this is your OWN journey. Hugs Kate

You look beautiful and SO happy on your wedding day I bought a few books on what the stages are, however everyone seems to do it differently here. Have they not given you ANY information about how to prepare and what to do afterwards? Hugs Kate

Or am I just on Day 4 of the pre op diet. People were avoiding me today at work, I could see them recoil. I asked my closest work buddies, who I see out of work and they said my breath was okay. I'm sure I took off a couple of eyebrows and some facial hair from them. Gee wizz.. On the plus side I am being left alone to crack on with work lol Hugs A very smelly headachy Kate

I did nearly buy chocolate on the way home from work for 'stress' relief until I remembered I couldn't and wouldn't. It did make me think though abut how many times I might have done that without even thinking. Kate
