  1. I was really constipated at times and still can be. I used a lot of stuff before I found that dulcolax works like a dream for me. I drink a ton of water every day, eat well and exercise and I still have problems but I think it's more to do with my thyroid than anything. Best of luck 🙂

I'm glad you're here. I hate the in-fighting. I dislike the "regretful" posts, but I try to remember that not everyone's health or experience is the same as mine. I hope and pray that their situations change and that it turns around for them. Anyway, glad you're back and hope that you stick around with input, positivity, and success.

  5. I bought crop top bras rather than regular ones and 7 months out still wear them as I'm still healing. They are comfy, give support and last longer before you need a fitted bra. Hope you find what you like ! kate 🙂
  6. No, I didn't. Thats held me in good stead. Each to their own 😊

    VENTING - can vs should

    You're all wrong.
  9. You need to get advice from your team and not from people on here. Some people do the two week liquid only plan (I did 18 days and yes its a killer) and some just have to fast for 24 hours before the surgery. So you will have a range of answers. You need to be honest with your surgeon, for your safety and listen to what he says. The first 5 days are bad on liquid only however it does get easier after that. Its just being focused and positive. If you tell yourself you can't do it, you probably wont. Don't forget that the surgery is just a tool to work with, not the answer. Good luck with everything !! Kate

    TT & BL- 2 ops or 1

I was in theater for 6 1/2 hours ... Its should have been £23,000 but ended up being £16,000. As of this morning I have one break in the skin and I'm looking/feeling great so all worth it in the end!!

    TT & BL- 2 ops or 1

I had 5 procedures done on the same day, so the cost was reduced and potential time off work reduced too. Everything went well for the first 4 weeks then my body rejected the internal stitches, which I had never had problems with before. I ended up off work for 11 weeks and although I am back now I am only working 4 hours a day. Its nothing to do with the surgeon or my home care, it was just bad luck. I did save £7,000 though and got it all over and done with in one. It still do the same! Congrats on the weight loss!! Amazing Kate

    Coffee

Like most things here you will get varied answers. It's probably best to ask your team/surgeon and follow their advice. I was told decaf coffee only forever but some are told it's okay for full strength coffee soon after surgery. I will never understand the differences we are told to follow after WLS.
  21. Was that a mistake? 25lbs in the first week after surgery?

Alternate ways to deal with excess skin

It all really does depend on the person, age, skin etc. Just like pregnancy, some women are back in their jeans the day after and some never get back into them. I went to a gym a few times a week after surgery and worked really hard and still had to have plastics. Kate

    6 weeks post TT/LBL

I had surgery on January 9th and still wear my compression garments during the day, just leave them off overnight when I am in bed. Kate

    4 days Post Op

You have just had a massive operation so cut yourself some slack and day by day you will feel better and it will get easier. I had protein shakes (made with powder and water) a lot at the beginning which meant I hit protein and fluid goals daily. It's more important at this stage to get fluids in or you will end up back in hospital dehydrated and you don't want that! Congrats on the surgery and speedy recovery
