  1. Yay! Being out of the plus size was monumental for me! That is so awesome! I seriously have to buy clothes every month. I may not have lost a lot of weight but I am losing inches. I am now in a loose size 8. I could wear a 6 but they would be a little tight. Waiting a week or two to get those pants. Woo hoo for shopping!!

  2. I met my surgeon when I went to an informational seminar. I met him in his office 2 weeks later for my first appointment. I got my height/weight measured. We talked about the different types of surgery, my weight history, medical issues, etc. We then set up a timeline for surgery. I was pregnant at the time so there was not too much else that we could discuss. He recommended the sleeve and said I needed to lose 5 pounds before I actually had surgery. I then went to see a nutritionist and was on a plan until I had my baby. My surgeon also required a 5 hour nutrition class so I did that. 3 weeks after my baby was born I went in for my weigh in and submitted my paperwork for insurance. Had the surgery 3 weeks later.

  3. I was sleeved on April 27, 2015. First, Celebrate what you have accomplished. Next, you need to hit the re-set button. You haven't lost out yet. I don't do many Protein shakes myself. I use the powders sometimes in sugar free pudding or Greek yogurt though. My husband really likes the Premier Protein pre mixed shakes and that is what I drink when I do. I would see your nutritionist and come up with some foods that don't make you feel bad. I eat a very wide variety of foods. I've learned to embrace Beans as well. I NEVER ate them before surgery. Also, you need to exercise. It will help. I've been working out since 2 weeks after surgery. I now run 3 mornings a week, I walk 3 mornings a week, I do Zumba one night a week, and body pump 2 nights a week. Some people will say, "I don't have that much time." Well, I work full time, am in school to get my MBA, married, and have a 10 month old daughter. You don't have to do anything major...just get moving. I have had many stalls along this morning. My starting weight was 290-294. My surgery date weight was 260. Now I am 143. It's not easy, but it is so worth it!! Don't give up!!

  4. Rude people! Unfortunately, there is nothing that can be done for stupidity. You are awesome and are taking control of your health. Just because people are smaller does not mean they are healthy. Keep going. I always say that looking good is the best revenge!

  5. It's been said...you have to let your stomach heal. Protein shakes aren't the best, but keep trying different ones and flavors. You have come so far, don't hurt your success so early on. Stalls are part of the process but you have to work through them. You can add some exercise at this point. Head hunger is real but don't let it get you. You need more Protein. 20g is NOT enough. Praying for your success! When I get down I look at how far I have come. I started at 294. I was 260 on surgery day. I am exactly 8 months out and I am down to 146. That's 148 pounds. That's an entire person. Look at your before pics. I went to my hometown for the first time in 2 years and people literally did not recognize me. It was awesome!

  6. At 2 weeks out I was walking 2 miles a day 5 days a week. At 3 weeks out I started a class called body pump 2 times a week. Then a month out I added zumba. From 1 month out until 7 months out I did zumba one day, body pump 2 days a week, then 2 days a week on the treadmill, and then 1 day swimming. I am 8 months out and I am training for a 5 K so I run 5 days a week. I also do zumba 1-2 times a week, and then body pump 2 times a week.
