    What's your workout routine?

At 2 weeks out I was walking 2 miles a day 5 days a week. At 3 weeks out I started a class called body pump 2 times a week. Then a month out I added zumba. From 1 month out until 7 months out I did zumba one day, body pump 2 days a week, then 2 days a week on the treadmill, and then 1 day swimming. I am 8 months out and I am training for a 5 K so I run 5 days a week. I also do zumba 1-2 times a week, and then body pump 2 times a week.
  2. 51 pounds is 3 months is great. I am not sure on the calories. Check in with your NUT. I am 8 months out and eat about 700-800 but my surgeon and NUT told me I am not eating enough because of all the exercise I do. I am only getting about half the Protein you are, but all my levels are great. Just keep at it.
  3. Happy birthday! I never realized how much food was involved in all of our celebrations either. But you know what? Looking and feeling fabulous is so much better. Being only 4 weeks out does make it a little harder. Just think next you, you could be at or very close to goal weight. How awesome will that be? Enjoy the time with family and friends!

For the "girls" - yes those girls....

I have went from a 48 DD to a 36 C so far. I had to buy bras early on because I had a baby 6 weeks before surgery. Love buying cute bras.

    Take a cleanse

I am just over 7 months and haven't hit that yet, but I have heard of good things with the 5 day pouch test. Checking in with nutritionist is also good.
  10. Yay! One-derland is an amazing place! Great job!
  11. Bless your heart. Even though the focus is on your son, you do need to take of yourself first. You cannot help anyone if you get sick also. Will be praying for your son and your family.

    Glorious Food!

I am 7 months out and can pretty much eat anything without being hurt. I choose not to eat Pasta or bread. If I order a sandwich, I remove the bread. I can still eat so little and the bread has no nutrition. I do eat carbs. I have oatmeal for Breakfast and Greek yogurt for Snacks. I eat cheese and I even had dressing on Thanksgiving. The only thing I really "miss" is soda. The desire for them is getting better but a part of me misses them. It's not so much that I can't have something, it is that I am choosing something better for me instead.

    Tacos

I love tacos, I just don't eat the shell. I get chicken with cheese and salsa. I can only eat a few bites because meat fills me up really quickly. You could also have some refried Beans. I'm not sure what the PICC line is so these are just things I do. I am 7 months out and eat pretty much what I want within reason and in small quantities.

    Moving right along...

I have a funny story about the psych eval. I had mine 2 weeks after my baby was born. She had a difficult delivery (43 hours of labor followed by a C-section). Had to take her back to hospital the day after she was released. Had a 5 day hospital stay. Then I am home for 4 days and get a call that she has the CF gene and had to get further testing. Had my psych eval 3 days prior to my daughters genetic test so I was in a state. I started crying in his office so he approved my surgery but wanted me to see another psychologist in the practice. Fast forward 2 weeks, my daughter was OK, I got a new job, and I finally got some sleep. The new psychologist said (after an hour talk), "Well, I'm not really sure why he referred you to me, because you seem absolutely normal." December will be busy for you, but that's a good thing. Good luck on this journey!

    Newbie-- question(s)

I wish I would have done this in my 20's. Definitely go to a seminar. They will be able to answer a lot of questions for you especially specific questions. Initially the calories are very low. I am 7 months out and get about 700 to 1000. My doctor wants me at 800 to 1500. The upper end on the days I work out. It is still hard for me to get in that many calories. My doctor does yearly nutrition tests. I just had my first one at 6 months out. My Iron is low, but it has already been low. Everything else is great. I continue to work with my nutritionist as well. It's a lifelong journey and it is more about the quality of food versus the quantity of calories. I have 0 regrets. Well, except that I didn't do it sooner.

    What’s Your Restaurant Secret?

My husband and I both had the sleeve done so when often share a plate at restaurants. We are not afraid to order a la carte and ask for to go boxes. Yes, we get the "look" and often the manager will come over to see if something was wrong because we ate so little. We usually just let them know that we had gastric sleeve surgery and cannot eat very much. We even ask to order off the children's menu. Some restaurants will let you.
  18. The liquid diet is not the most fun. BUT...it is for a cause...a good cause. You cannot really "fail" the 2 week liquid diet. The shrinking of your liver just helps the surgeon navigate better. I had a baby 6 weeks before I had my sleeve done. I was breast feeding and I was always hungry. I cheated a few times. My surgeon mentioned that my liver wasn't as small as he had hoped, but I had no complications.
  19. What you are feeling is completely normal! Try to get some rest tonight (easier said that done, I know). Glad you have support. My mother in law went with me.
