Check out this video. You will eventually get hungry again.
It's a crazy process to go thru. Take it one day at a time.
All the best.

It's very very difficult. The pain is not worth it.

Holy shit. Don't do that again! You will kill yourself and cause a leak!!!!!!!'
How did you not vomit that out??????

The probability of a leak gets less overtime. The first several weeks are the most critical.
It's the size of your stomach it can be as small as 32fr or large as 60fr in french bougie sizes. Google it you will see photos! I have a 40fr.
The stomach will settleinto it's regular new size once your inflammation is gone in a few months.

I am glad you're in a better place. Leaks can happen as late as 9 months.
To be honest, I am quite interested to know the size of your stomach. Do you know your bougie size? Your doctor may have given you a larger stomach.
Which can be a mixed blessing!

I may be the minority. But your mother is being frank with you from her own experience. She doesn't want you to go through what she's going through. Your her child after all.
It's an odd way to live permanently. Eating and drinking so slowly and so little.
Heh.

I am 8 weeks out now. Each day gets better. I got a healthy dose of reality when my family took me to the hospital due to sucidial thoughts. I needed to get a grip. I needed to accept my decision.
I am in counselling now and joined OA. Each day is somewhat better than the last.

You had two surgeries back to back. You may need more time to heal. BUT you need to deal with the nausea. Ask your pcp or Surgeon for meds.
-
Caffeine is highly acidic. Not good for your healing stomach! This is a major surgery and life change.
I gave up caffeine and its been 8 weeks. Sticking to herbal teas. It's doable.

I am not sure how it's physically possible for you to eat a pizza slice let alone three! that immediately post op.
Please take a step back. You maybe causing very serious life threatening damage to your stomach. You can cause a LEAK! Forget stretching!
Do you want to kill yourself? Your stomach is still healing!
I am in shock. You have a food addiction. You went cold turkey and your reaching back for a fix. But now your fix can literally kill you!. You need counselling asap and join overeaters anonymous to face this addiction.
I an sorry for being harsh. But I am very concerned for you.

Everything Berry78 said!
I would also read the complications forum. This is might be odd advice. But it's best you know the real complications regardless of how rare they are.

It's wonderful Captain Wentworth and Anne are byfar the most realistic Austen couple
-
I will tell you advice that I am bad taking myself lol. Be kind to yourself!
Your worries are my group 2 concerns! I am constantly worried about complications... will the acid reflux get worse, will my stomach get kinked etc etc.
We can only live and do our very best.
Again, advice I should take lol.

I can only speak from personal experience.
My hormones were on overdrive due to the quick weight loss. Led to insomnia and anxiety.
Eating and drinking Water is difficult in the beginning. It was fruatrating. I had very little physical pain thank god.
On the mental end, this is by far the hardest. I am a food addict. I felt like I was going cold turkey. Its hard to watch eveyone around you eat normally. Dumping is not fun. I understand it's rare or not so common with the sleeve. I had it once with sugar free ice cream lol.
Read up there's lots of wonderful advice on this site.
Wishing your wife a swift recovery and success.

I am Muslim. My screen name is my favorite Jane Austen character

You're already doing well! It's going to be very difficult post op. I would recommend your wife begin counselling or join a support group. It will be helpful to have the added support in case of complications.
All the best.

I would do lots lots of research before you agree to the DS. The malsorption is serious..from what I understand.
I find it kinda odd that your surgeonis explainin it in such simple terms, it's your body and its not an upgrade.
Also do not do this as an outpatient. Both sugeries are very serious. I was under supervision for four days!

The mental struggle is so absurd. I am compulsive and emotional eater.
I attended my first oa meeting today. It's so sobering to hear others speak of their struggles.
