  1. Great topic!! I was thinking about what if I want another child a few days ago, so glad you posted.
  2. Just posted this question, but figured it's best here since I intend to go to mexico. Anyone smoke pre sleeve? I know it's bad and every time I try to quit I gain huge amounts of weight, which leads me back to smoking. If I quit and gain weight during preoperative diet will they deny me, or if I quit and start using patch or gum will they deny me for having nicotine in my system ?
  3. I have been doing my research and I see that some people are required to take a nicotine test before surgery. I am currently a smoker, not a pack a day but none the less a smoker and it is a battle for me because when I try to quit , my weight increases dramatically then become stressed out and go back to smoking. My question is if I stop smoking and start chewing the cessation gum a month prior to surgery will I be denied because of weight gain during the pre-op diet phase, and because I have nicotine in my system from either the patch or the gum ? Has anyone had to overcome this obstacle ?
  4. OK thank you , going to this link now.
  5. My question is what does the surgeon say when patients vomit so soon after surgery? As a nurse my initial reaction is that vomiting must be extremely painful, and what happens to your suture line during up chuck ?
  6. I haven't had mines done yet, but as a nurse I can tell you it sounds like an iron deficiency, definitely tell your doc as he may suggest bumping up on your iron intake.
  7. Hello, just trying to figure out how to navigate the app
  8. That sounds awesome, may I ask what doc ? And what did 2 years of records consist of ? Just basic records or something in particular? May I also ask what insurance? I have health net.
  9. @@ClaireInCanada , I have lots and lots of questions.
  10. I'm just curious to know, I keep seeing the bariatric pal specials pop up through out the forums, is this what everyone is using and paying for ? Or is it just a random ad?
  11. Did you have to do the 6 month program, self pay? I'm in AZ too, but it seemed I would never afford it here.
  12. Ok, so I figured out how to navigate this app and post a topic! Yay! OK so I recently had an A1C done and it's high, diagnosed with high cholesterol 2 years ago, tried every med to bring it down and either they don't work or I have had severe allergic reactions to them. My BMI is 40+ at 5'11 300lbs. I have been there done that when it comes to weightloss and diets....so I have come to the decision to make this surgery a reality. I have been looking at the bariatric pal specials and am torn between Dr.Ponce and Dr.V, Wondering, if anyone has done this on the special, and would really like a detailed description as I am so nervous to make this commitment. Also, would like to know why no one ever comments on the price of the OCC ? I initially was going to start the process with them but the fact that no one comments on price feels a little shady.
  13. That sounds great! Glad you are feeling well. If you don't mind me asking what doc did you choose ?
  14. I'm new here and not sure I'm in the right forum but want to go to mexico but not sure which doc is reputable and wondering do they have payment plans . Not financing, I'm talking real payment plan , like I pay a certain amount now to have my surgery then make payments for the rest.
