Nothing about this process is particularly fun or fair if life were fair we could all eat what we like with no consequences well then if that were the case this site would not have to exist this process takes time to get used to and become your new normal we have all been there sometimes you will get angry or frustrated with it the thing is it will get u no where if you wanted this bad enough to go through with the surgery then slow down calm down and follow your instructions yes things will return to a more normal state in time it feels like it won't I'm here to say it will I'm 8 months post op sleeve I can eat a little of most things you will need to decide when you get there if being able to eat Pasta potatoes bread etc fill in your food of choice if it's worth it to you and your progress or excercise plan to eat it or not and how hard you want to work to keep losing or maintaining at goal it's up to you it's a tool to help you it's not a magic wand that waves away poor choices that is not to say you are expected to be perfect everyday forever and you won't have something once in a while but keep in mind the decision will be yours always will it be " fair"? Maybe not but those of us who got to this point to do this surgery had to stop worrying about what was fair and do what's nessecary to try and take some control back emotions can go haywire during this process and can feel overwhelming a times it will get better in time best of luck to you

Sleeved October 12...I found that when I'm dehydrated I get nauseous. I'm on soft food and it is so hard to get Protein and my daily Water in. I found that my Vitamin was also making me nauseous so I ordered them multi Vitamin Patch from patched.com.

Could the side effects of the meds be any worse than how you are currently feeling? Why not try them and if things don't improve then you could stop them. You aren't the only one to have these issues post op, but they won't change unless you do something other than post on the forums.

OK, so I am post-op day # 4 and it is going really slow. I have a lot of abdominal pain and bloating. The nausea is finally subsiding. I haven't been able to keep much down (actually haven't tried) and I am just about 24 hours without retching. I am hoping this gets better soon so I feel better. Right now I don't miss food at all...I just want to feel better!!!
Please keep supporting me!!! Thanks all.

I'm so happy to read all the responses to this post as a person going in for there last pre surgery appointment before insurance approval on Monday I've been reading threw lost just getting support and looking at everyone's positive life changes. This post was totally freaking me out but like many of you pointed out most of us did not make this decision in 2 weeks and have been on researching and going threw the process for months to years ..hence why a psych evaluation is usually necessary for this surgery just to see if you understand and are actually ready for such permanent changes, but anyway thanks to the community for clearing my fears

Ok. So I WILL reply to this one.
The "truth" hurts? Girlfriend, your OPINION is NOT "truth" just as MY opinion is not truth. You can totally own your experiences, but what you've done does not apply to all, I am proof of that.
First and foremost, anyone who "decides to have the sleeve" and is on the table two weeks later really needs to do some self reflection as does anyone who will openly state that they did not realize this procedure was permanent.
I am also 5'3, was sleeved while I was "young" (by your definition) and my body is MUCH healthier than it's ever been. My body fat is down to the low end of the "ideal" range and butted right up to "lean". I have some loose skin, for sure, but underneath it, I am strong and fit.
I did my research, I worked my plan, and I exercised my body. Anyone who does not is operating on foolishness.
I must say, I'm curious. If you are such an expert on weight gain/loss/nutrition/fitness, why the regain? Why is your regain the fault of the sleeve? Serious question.

Someone like me who's extremely nervous and scared due to surgery but it's normal feelings really dislike that you posted this comment because we're all here for the same thing and that's support and tips. Common sense when considering this your considering the whole package which is healthy eating and working out and living a healthy life. Unlike you who jumped into it by running to Mexico should have thought more about everything!!
