  1. @sassy683 Oh totally. I wear regular over the knee/thigh high boots in a size 10. I used to have to buy 12W and I could only special order boots or get them from like Torrid of Avenue. I can stick my hands on either side of my calves with wide calf boots on now, they are just massive, gave all of those away too. I can buy shoes anywhere and now I am collecting designer shoes. I am going to have a blast in Nordstrom, Saks and Neimans this fall.
  2. Don't buy too many shoes or get too attached. I purchased a lot of shoes last year thinking my feet had bottomed out and I would lost anymore and I lost another size. I went from a 12W to a 10 almost need a narrow. My feet are long and thin, lol. I never thought I would get smaller than an 11, I gave away a ton of heels this year.
  3. I haven't seen you post in a while! Glad you are doing well.
  4. If you low carb, then eat carbs. Your liver gains glycogen/water weight and you can go up 2-10 pounds over a weekend just eating carbs. If you are steadying intaking carbs, then you weight will remain steady. The weight gain after eating carbs following a low carb diet is not true fat gain, at least not initially. You just have to make a lifestyle change, it has to be a lifestyle not a diet. You don't cheat with a lifestyle change. It is hard for everyone. You can get a burger without the bun at a fast food resturant, make them wrap it in lettuce. Fries are my weekness, there is no low carb substitute, but you just have to decided if fries are worth being fat. Good luck!
  5. Stop going to the gym and walk outside an hour a day. Your calorie deficit is probably too high. I lost my weight never going to the gym. Walking, yoga, light weights at home.
  6. @Walter.Sobchak It isn't too big. You are binge eating on sliders/liquids. Do you have a therapist? You really need to work on the root cause of your food addiction. There is no way to make a sleeve small enough to combat food addiction.
  7. I did not have cracked heels but my feet were rough and I would get a thick callous on the pad of my feet. My feet stay almost baby soft now. Keto overall made my skon great but the feet is just because they are now carrying around an entire extra person all day.
  8. I discussed it with my Dr and we decided since I was young and active the Sleeve would work for me. I also didn't want a long term high maintenance surgery. Long term the sleeve has pretty low maintenance levels compared to other surgeries. as long as you don't have GERD. If you have GERD, RNY is your only option really, it isn't worth having the sleeve and risking a revision later on.
  9. I know when you are bi-polar with manic phases impulse control is really hard. I have a friend that suffers from bi-polar and when she is in a manic episode she is impossible to reason with. The best thing you can do is have good options available because I am not really sure you can fight the urges in a manic episode. Replace everything with sugar free and protein options. Like I have chocolate when I am on my period but it is sweetened with Stevia, hard to get and not cheap. That prevents me from eating too much but also, even if I eat a whole bar, it is not the end of the world (I don't I eat a proper serving). You just have to learn to work with yourself and your limitations instead of against them. Also with a BMI of 29, if that is accurate. Every pound you lose at this point is going to be a hard one. that is just how it goes the close you are to a normal BMI.
  10. Lipstick Lipgloss Highlighter Earrings Necklaces Cheap Party Dresses Cheap shapewear Wigs The $8-15 I would spend eating out or having a snack (starbucks coffee + pastry) I used on clothes, makeup and jewelry. Those are my treats. I know some people do manicures and pedicures, that was part of my normal routine pre-op so that wouldn't be a treat to me.
  11. No one uses Syntrax Nectar anymore? There are so many flavors and even the bad ones aren't nasty tasting. http://www.si03.com/nectar.php Isopure is gross, actually almost everything OP listed is gross. Carnation is nutritional trash basically. I like protein shakes before surgery and they still taste the same to me. I don't dislike the taste. However the idea of just drinking calories makes me miserable.
  12. Please talk to your Dr about reducing or ending your medicine. It needs to be monitored carefully. I'm surprised they still have you on meds for it.
  13. Honestly I am never physically hungry unless I have gone over 16 hours without eating. I eat at the times I am supposed to. I especially had no appetite at all the first 6 months, mainly because food was still a scary thought. Sometimes eating would cause discomfort and I was still afraid of complications. How you are feeling is normal.
  14. Food addicts never feel full though, or they feel full past the comfort level. Most Drs don't say eat until you are full, by the time you feel "full" with a sleeve, you have over ate. They say to eat your measured portions.
  15. Muscle does not weigh more than fat. A pound is a pound, it is an absolute scientific measurement. Muscle is leaner and denser than fat.
  16. I have all of the feelings you have, but I have to remind myself that thin people have some of these same feelings. Everyone feels fat trying on jeans, lol. When I started wearing regular sizes and shopping in regular stores and hearing other women talk to each other about clothes and sizes I realized a lot of the things I was feeling other people were feeling too. that helps. The loose skin I have makes me feel fat, well more accurately, it reminds me of how fat I let myself become in the past. It is a constant reminder of my past mistakes and something I can't really hide. I also had to realize that even with plastic surgery I am never going to have the body of a person that wasn't as fat as I was. My body is always going to be different because of my previous weight. Realizing that, made me not feel so desperate for skin surgery. I really have to learn to be comfortable with myself and forgive myself for my past mistakes. It is a long process.
  17. Stalls can be hard to accept. I just try to think like I am my body. My body was used to being in a certain weight range for a long time. Then I made a change. It went along with it for a while, then it said nope, I'm tired I quit. If I keep doing the same things it has no choice but to change. What we are doing is a shock to most of our bodies and they are trying to fight back. This is going to be a life long thing unfortunately for most of us, maintain this weight so there isn't really a rush. Last year I felt a rush because I really wanted skin surgery, I got over those issues, and now I am in no rush. I am really glad I didn't rush to skin surgery because a year later my body looks better without plastic surgery than a lot of people look post-op. You can't complain about this to non WLS people because they just feel like you should be happy to be X, and they don't really understand the frustration and pressure. At least I personally feel a lot of pressure to be successful because this cost so much money and time, and also my friend helped me by coming to be with me for surgery and I feel like if I fail I let everyone down. Just keep doing what you are doing the weight will come off. You are also probably still dealing with water retention and swelling from your skin removal, it takes 6 months to heal. Relax and keep going.
  18. @hillnicole34 The site also changed a lot once the app became popular. None of the other WLS forums have working apps, so this one has the most traffic, which is good and terrible.
  19. Short story, everyone got banned/left. This is just a shell of what the site was when I started. A lot of the knowledge and experience is just gone.
  20. You regained on 4 to 6 ounces lean dense protein per meal? Like I already stated. I can eat tons of junk if I choose to. If eat what I am supposed to, my capacity is the same. That is not a stretched sleeve. I can't blame poor food choices on my sleeve, that is my fault.
  21. @Aginn10 MY tastebuds have not changed at all. I also gave up soda like 2 years before surgery, and it took me a really long time to do it, so I am pretty dedicated to not drinking soda. The only time I have something carbonated is with alcohol, but I don't really drink. I gave up alcohol a few years before surgery also. I did both in an effort to lose weight and be healthy, I wasn't thinking about WLS at the time. When I gave up sugar, alcohol and soda and still wasn't losing weight in large numbers that is one of the things that pushed me to surgery. Taste has nothing to do with not having it, carbonation just involves things that don't benefit me or my goals. If I am going to drink alcohol I have to change my macros and calories for 2 days, it isn't worth wasting the calories on alcohol I could spend on pork chops. I think of my calories as currency, alcohol is a poor value compared to meat. I love food, I'm a foodie. I eat lots of great and interesting stuff. I just refuse to waste calories. I was food snob before and I am more of a food snob now. I was a picky eater before, no leftovers, food has to be piping hot, my food can't touch. Tastebuds are unchanged. Lifestyle is changed.
  22. You might want to try different temps of water like Rainbow suggested. I couldn't tolerate cold water. My water had to be room temp or warm. I don't suggest adding fruit to your water. If you have to add flavoring get sugar free water drops. Sip on water all day, when you are on liquids you can drink all day, no need to wait before or after "meals" As you heal you are able to drink more water faster. By one year I was drinking at close to a normal rate, now I can drink like someone that didn't have surgery. I just had 16 ounces of water in shot just now as I took my morning vitamins.
  23. You can click on his name and see his activity. Like most people that post here and cause a ton of drama, he never came back.
  24. Actually losing weight is the easy part, maintenance is the hardest thing.
