  1. Just take it hour by hour. Don't worry about getting through the day, that can be overwhelming. Just worry about eating and drinking right for the next hour. Then just keep making it hour by hour. Good luck OP, we are on your side.
  2. She is preaching moderation. They are low cal but full sugar. Too many ingredients for me. I would rather just eat real cake, at least it is clean. People like her are necessary so the rest of us can learn what not to do. For the cost of them, they better include an orgasm.
  3. Almost everyone has a 3 week stall. Your body is just resting there is no reason to try and break it. However, yes upping your calories can shock your body and get it back to losing. When I upped my calories at month 4 I think, I had my biggest loss.
  4. The iron I was on, after going vegan made me super anemic, gave me some GERD. I had my script changed to slow release iron, it works in the intestine not the stomach. Problem solved. Also less constipation. Ask your dr for the coated iron.
  5. If you post your picture on the internet on a forum that pops up on Google, you aren't hiding anything. There is no privacy on this site, people understand that right? Just because you might be using the app, doesn't mean this is just an app. It is a website easily searchable on google.
  6. I had this earlier this year... http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/diabetes/expert-answers/reactive-hypoglycemia/faq-20057778 I was not eating meat, and it cause me a ton of issues. I changed how I was eating, back to my normal way of eating and it has stopped. The whole experience was pretty traumatic. Have you changed how you are eating lately?
  7. When your Doctor tells you. Nothing anyone says here counts. Your Dr knows best.
  8. I know you are 5 foot 2 but at 216 pounds, you are not going to drop a ton of weight really fast. Stalls are normal. If you keep doing the same thing you will still lose. I stalled for a week or 2 at a time all the time during my weight loss. I still lost 172 pounds post op, not relying on protein shakes. I stalled every single time I had my period, and sometimes that came with a weight gain of 5 pounds. I had a period every 2 weeks for over a year. So imagine all the stalls I had. It is better to track your weight loss by the month, not the week, even if you weigh everyday. Monthly totals matte more than weekly totals. You can lose more weight faster with real food because your body burns calories just processing real food. When you have protein shakes you are giving your body immediately available calories it does not have to work for. Stalls are a part of the process get used to them.
  9. You can eat pretty normally at that point 3 to 4 ounces of food maybe more. Also you should be able to drink pretty rapidly. 9 months later you should be fine.
  10. @Tpar09 I live alone and none of my family or friends live near me. My friend flew in from the coast to be with me when I had surgery but left 48 hours after my surgery. I understand feeling alone. I also only told about 3 people at that time I had surgery so I also had the weight of this huge secret. I was afraid something would go wrong and I was all alone and no one even knew I had surgery or was close enough to check on me. All I can say is it gets better, hang in there.
  11. I always have liked how female Volleyball players look. Usually shapely with some fat left in the right places.
  12. I just had the sleeve and lost 172 pounds post op, with just the sleeve and good eating habits, not really working out. I picked the sleeve because I knew I could revise to DS if I didn't lose enough with the sleeve or if as I get older I have serious regain issues. If i was going to pick I would pick DS just because you get to eat more and you don't have to be quite as diligent. So if someone is a serious food addict with emotional issues, DS is the better option to keep the weight off long term. The only other reason to not go with DS would just be the skill of the surgeon and the support of the program. I have noticed some programs treat DS like other surgeries and do not provide good nutrition and follow up care. DS is unique and needs unique follow up.
  13. My surgeon asked my HS weight. I told him, he said I could get there. 190 seemed like a good goal and ambitious, for someone that had been over 300 pounds for almost 2 decades. Once I hit it, I decided I could go lower. I want a 27 BMI before skin surgery.
  14. Peanut butter is one of those things I rarely ate pre-op. Post-op I like it so much, I don't keep it in the house. It was too easy to eat and too calorie dense.
  15. The food is pretty boring. when you get to solids, and really start feeling restriction, you might find you have a different attitude.
  16. Everyone is hungry with raging hormones. Short answer. This forum is still nicer than a lot of others. WLS community is cut throat, just like the rest of the internet. There is lots of good information here, just ignore people you don't like and keep going.
  17. Both at the same time. Then with stalls, during a stall I lose inches. Which is why people should take their measurements every week, or at least once a month. Weight, stall, inches, weight. Rinse and repeat that has been the pattern the whole time. I wouldn't know that if I didn't track. Tracking helps you not panic because you understand what is going on.
  18. I have made them with Jicama and turnips, it isn't the same. I have been a low carber off and on for 17 years. I hate sweet potatoes and they aren't low carb. At this point I can have 5 fries and stop. I'm not really actively trying to lose at this point. Thanks for the suggestion though. IMO there is a substitution for everything, but french fries.
  19. Please contact your Dr ASAP. Some of it might be reactive hypoglycemia, or it could be worse but a Dr needs to be notified and you should be seen.
  20. Just block people. My block list is a mile long. I don't care. These people are just fonts on screen, you don't have to deal with them unless you want to. There are too many people who are genuinely trying to connect and seek support to bother with the crazies on here.
  21. That isn't true for everyone. My RMR is over 1900 and I still lose easily on 1400 calories a day, I can lose on as high as 1600-1700. I maintain on well over 2000 calories a day. When you are super morbidly obese for a long time, BMI over 50, you body builds more muscle as it adapts to carry the weight. I have more muscle mass than most grown men, which is how I look so physically small even though my weight is high. My bones are 3x denser than the average person my age, from carrying all the weight. All of this is information from my DEXA scans and RMR tests, not just something I am pulling out of a hat. She can still lose on not starvation calories, her weight is still up there, her RMR is probably still over 2000. She also just had major surgery, plastics, and is being too hard on herself. She can keep losing as is, everyone stalls. I have stalled for a month before then lost 10 pounds in a week, it happens. @Dashofpixiedust8 is right on track. It is just that when you start so high it takes longer and there are more stalls. This is a marathon not a Sprint. She has this.
  22. Yougurt is just a denser liquid, when you eat it is going to basically be a slider and go right through your stomach. If 5 ounces is a serving. I don't see an issue. However, you should be measuring out your portions and only eating your portions. You can't overeat if you aren't over served to begin with.
  23. I didn't count them as meal that early out. It is too hard to get your fluids in and they are just a liquid. It isn't like they sit on your stomach anyway. Never followed the 30 minutes before and after with them, and was never told to. They are liquids, not meals for my program.
