  1. I never had a time that I didn't have a period. I was losing rapidly and I was having 2 periods a month for about 9 months. I always had regular periods until VSG, then I started having one every 2 weeks. Have you had any recent blood work? Do you think you have started menopause early? Are you sure you are eating enough calories to support your work outs? When I saw my gyno about it, she said there was nothing she could give me, my body had to work it out, and giving me something could make it worse not better. Have your blood tested, and go from there.
  2. 1.5 years out. I am only physically hungry if I go 16 plus hours without eating. I do 16/8 fasting, and sometimes I get busy and might go 18 or 20 hours without eating. I didn't have head hunger at all the first year once I could eat food that I could chew. Head hunger has crept back in lately, but that is mainly because of life issues.
  3. Since the update the site is not functioning at an optimal level.
  4. Not yet, I'm almost there. I'm not actually sure if I want to lose that low, since I have so much muscle I am physically pretty small at this point 15 to 20 more pounds, would make me really small. I can't think of any Vets that have lost 200 or more right now of I would tag them.
  5. Use search, there are tons of threads.
  6. Call your Dr. Random people on the internet are not qualified to give you medical advice.
  7. Tuna can be hard to digest. A soft white fish like cod, baked would be better.
  8. They are made in factories with chemicals. They are not natural foods. If you want to say they are good sources of protein, fine, but they are frankenfoods. There is nothing natural about them.
  9. I feel like this is a lesson best learned by experience. The first time you drink too fast, eat too fast, or overeat, you learn that pain and you don't repeat it. That is our tool working as intended to help us break bad habits.
  10. Physically hungry or head hunger? Everyone want to chew something after not being able to chew for weeks. Make some jello, or chomp on ice.
  11. When is the last time you had lab work done? If it hasn't been recently that might really help as a starting point. What are your macros like daily for ketosis? What are your carbs at?
  12. I eat baked chicken wings all the time, I am over 1.5 years post-op. I also eat unbreaded fried chicken wings from Wingstop. Chicken wings are really hard to track. You have to weigh them before you eat them and then weigh the bones after to get an accurate protein and calorie count. It is pretty annoying so I only do it once a week. I didn't have them until 6 or 9 months out. They are a dense protein and hard to digest. My nurse in the hospital was 6 months post op from the sleeve and he told me that he had fried chicken with his family, he just didn't eat the skin. He was a great resource for me on what I could eat postop and stay on plan I started making my own low carb pizza around 9 months. There are lots of recipes. You can eat the toppings off pizza but I would caution you against making that a habit because later on down the road you might find that toppings are a slider. When you are cleared for food at 4 to 6 weeks you could probably have 1/2 a sausage patty with an egg for breakfast. What are your food stages as directed by your Dr?
  13. Couples counseling or dump him.
  14. I eat keto so the fat in chicken salad is great for me. It helps with my protein and fat macros. I don't really eat it anymore because it offers no restriction, but that is a different topic. Not all of us follow the same kind of post-op diets but I think that we can all agree that real food is better than artifical processed foods.
  15. @erinb2094 You got this! Good luck!
  16. @BigViffer I am just offering her suggestions based on the very limited information she provided. We have no idea what kind of bars she is eating. You are a man with a higher RMR and you are lifting. You could probably afford to have a FitCrunch bar every day, OP really can't afford those carbs or calories. I see very few people here ever post about eating bariatric appropriate protein bars. Even if she is, just looking at what she posted the majority of her calories each day are coming from fake protein substitutes. Protein bars are fake food. Some people do well with them and others don't. Since she is having issues the protein bars, toast and peanut butter stand out as things that are adding carbs and could be cut. I eat protein bars, high quality ones. I try to avoid them because they are just sliders, they offer no satisfaction. Also, I think a lot of women would benefit from higher protein goals. I have been over 90 grams a day since day 2 and average in the 120 to 130 range most days. Keeping my protein goals high has allowed me to retain muscle while losing and it keeps me full. High protein goals also leaves little room for other empty calories.
  17. I would do it afterward. You have no idea how you are going to heal. I was lucky and healed well. When I was 4 weeks post op I had to do a long weekend drive of over 900 miles. I got through it, and I had the energy for it, but look back it was really hard and I was pushing it. At 4 weeks you will be able to eat, but not much, and probably not anything at a celebration. I would just enjoy the celebration with my family and then have surgery. There is no reason to add extra stress to you life if you don't have to. Dealing with family is stressful enough.
  18. You still didn't post your calories, protein, or carbs. Those number matter. Give up the toast. Give up peanut butter. It is calorie dense with not enough nutritional value to justify it. The protein bars and shakes are giving you too many carbs probably. Protein bars are a really fake food. They are made with so many chemicals, that alone might be your stall right there. I try to have no more than 2 a week and only in an emergency. Give up the protein bars and the shakes. Have dense protein for snacks. Steak, chicken, pork chops cut into strips. Do you weigh and measure all of your food? Everything even condiments? If you aren't weighing your food and tracking it, you are just guessing.
  19. I never had issues with premier but I always tell people not to stock up anything. I like broth with unflavored protein powder.
  20. Those kind of calories will lower you metabolism and keep you on low calories for the rest of your life. I eat around 1500 calories at 1.5 years out and I am still losing. You are not eating enough calories to fuel the workout that you are doing.
  21. Headache is the first sign of dehydration. If you are not getting your fluids in you need to go to the Emergency room/Dr Office ASAP.
  22. What do you eat exactly? Calories? Carbs? Protein?
  23. Bananas are high in carbs. These are my favorite low carb pancake. http://www.ibreatheimhungry.com/2012/01/cream-cheese-pancakes.html
  24. Increase your calories. You should be in the 1000-1200 range at 6 months.
  25. Why not eat real food in the morning instead of a shake?
