This time next week I will already be in surgery. I am the first case Monday September 14th, 0730 start time. We are traveling home from a family wedding at which I managed not to have any alcoholic beverages, which I am pretty proud of!
Lots to do this week, I'm a little more nervous about getting life ready then the actual surgery at this point!

9/14 for me too. Good luck to all!

Me too! Busy traveling weekend to a family wedding and will need to finish my course work for an online program for my masters degree should be enough to occupy my mind! Oh and get the house clean enough for my mother to visit to "help" me! I can't wait for anesthesia so I get a nap! ????

Good luck to you!

Had my preop physical and appointment with the surgeon and NUT. All is well. Just have to stay on my liver reduction diet and show up on surgery day! NUT asked me to lose 12# preop and I have lost 14.3# so I'm feeling pretty good about that. Hope it's a sign of what's to come. 11 more days to go!

By this time two weeks from now I'll be about 12 hours post op. Fear is really starting to set in. I have so much to do before then, traveling for a wedding this weekend, kids stat school, I'm a school nurse and this my first day in this role also, need to clean the house to my moms standards since she is coming to stay for a week after surgery and fish the masters level course I am taking and a week early!! I'm tired after typing all of that!! Any tips on last minute preparations and not freaking out and eating everything while on the countdown. I really don't want to mess this up with a too fat liver!!

Thanks for the encouragement. I had an awful week at work and hectic life schedule this week too. I am very aware of the fact that I need to develop some new coping mechanisms for stress and anxiety but have not been able to make that happen this week. Now or never, I don't want to postpone and give the haters more chance to hate!

Does anyone have a chewable (not gummy) b complex (not b12) that has at least 100mg of thiamine? It's the only thing I cannot find on my post op supplement list. The only recommendation my NUT had was to crush. Yuck! I hate crushed pills and Vitamins are huge so that's a lot of crushed up nastiness. Help?

I am scheduled for a sleeve September 14th, a little over 2 weeks. I don't have a liquid diet, just a liver reduction diet which is Protein, fruit and veggies. I caved last weekend and it has snowballed all week! I now am in a mode where I want to get one last time of everything! I know this is crazy and I have to get it together like now! I have lost the 5% my doctor has asked preop and really only need to maintain for a few weeks. I am freaking out about gaining and my liver not being ready and also about what this says about my future ability to get it together with my eating habits. Any last minute advice? How did you keep it together in "crunch time"?

I am very nervous. We will have to keep in touch! Best of luck to you!

Same day as me! What amazing progress you have made already! Only 3 more weeks to go!

Good luck! I'm having a hard time waiting. 3weeks to go!

Not always me at all! I am also terrified of failure like every other weight loss attempt I have made. I am trying to focus on taking care of myself as a priority. You can do it, good luck with your journey!

I have had 2 c sections and a previous exploratory laparoscopy as well as endometriosis. I did get a warning from the nurse about how unpredictable scar tissue could be and that the doctor would not perform the surgery if it is unsafe when he got in there. Good luck!

Mine says at least no driving until my 1 week visit..

I am lucky enough to have the first spot on my day. Arrival time 5:30am surgery to begin at 7:30. I agree early is best. Anytime I have had surgery I always ask to be first case. Good luck to you!

Both of the surgical groups near me no longer perform this year procedure. More problems than good. I also didn't like he thought of needing constant adjustments where someone needs to stick a needle in my abdomen. Also a port in my stomach, I'm trying to get rid of lumps in at area, not add a new one. Good luck with your decision and surgery.

As of today I have completed all of my preop testing and teaching mall that is left I'd a preop physical with an internist then meeting with the surgeon. 4 weeks from today! I'm excited but it is still pretty surreal. Now to focus on not wrecking my preop liver reduction diet and getting my house in order.

I have been advised on a liver reduction diet which is Proteins, veggies and fruit only for 1 month prior. Nothing to eat or drink after midnight the night before. No week of Protein Shakes or Clear Liquids prior either. Bottom line is every surgeon has different guidelines based on their experience. Good luck!

Hi I'm Jenn. Pre op sleeve and my surgery date is September 14th. I live in Door County Wisconsin, it's pretty rural so not a lot of resources. I enjoy reading what is going on with people who are having similar experiences to mine. I don't yet have any "friends" on here and would welcome any conversation. Good luck to you all!

Thank you for sharing. I am planning surgery for this September 14th and I really don't have high expectations. I am so used to failing in this area of my life I really have no idea what it is like to feel all of the things people talk about here. Congratulations and you look fabulous! Hope to feel as good as you do someday!

Is that what your surgeons plan recommends? My plan has nothing but Protein for 6 weeks then until six months only carbs are fruits and veggies. Sounds way too soon. Slippery slope...
