  1. This has been my only method of exercise for over a month now. I walk/jog alternate everyday 3 miles and so far I have seen a continuous weight loss of roughly 3 lbs a week or more. I have a treadmill but enjoy getting out and walking in the mornings. On Monday I injured my knee and have been out of commission it hurts cause I want to lose all this excess weight without delays and set backs. Any who, best wishes on your future jogs in the morning.

  2. My motivation is knowing I have 6 months to from surgery to maximize my weight loss. I don't want to fail at this 2nd chance so to speak to lose this weight. I am losing weight and dropping every week. If I stop i may continue to lose or I may not, or I may have lost an opportunity to have lost more weight had I not procrastinated.

I have read many motivational quotes my favorites state that, our goals our set by us and met by us alone. Your outcome will depend on the effort you put forth. What are you gonna do during your honeymoon phase, Mildew or BBQ?

I am sitting here typing this and should have been done with my 3 mile walk or jog but I am procrastinating. But it will get done today rain, or shine which it is doing a little bit of both.

My motivation is, I really was hoping this surgery would be a magic pill, but its not. What it really is, is a freaking tool like when you are playing a video game say like Mario brothers and you eat the power pill, and you are bigger stronger, have extra power but if you mess up you will shrink back to the regular person. Yeah something like that, I am using my power up pill to lose while I can cause I don't want to have to have RNY to lose the rest of my weight.

  3. I am trying to see if I am on the right track as far as exercise is concerned. I walk/jog 3 miles a day six days a week. outdoors which takes me an hour with hills and things. I am losing weekly with walking the three miles, probably 3lbs a week. I am now under 298 lbs hoping to keep losing consistently. I found some kettle bell exercises and dumb bell moves for strength training how often should I incorporate the Strength training?

Really want to know what you guys are doing to lose weight and maintain the weight loss.

  4. I am learning places I can eat since I have not managed to plan my meals ahead of time. Just wanted to share some of my favorite tasty meals and Snacks.

    Snacks:

Old Wisconsin Turkey Bites sold at Walmart I believe they are 80 cals and 9 grams of Protein for 6. (The nutrition on the package on Walmarts site is different than the actual one you buy) I will edit this later to correct

But I love this as a quick snack

I do not like the Jack Link turkey Jerky I found them to tough but the same cals and Protein.< /p>

    Meals:

    Subway

Steak and cheese over spinach, red onion, pickles, hot peppers, bell peppers OMG so good. be sure to ask for the sauce on the side that way you can measure you own. I love the sweet onion (fat free) and the spicy chipotle. This meal should be under 400 because the only cals are the steak and the cheese which the cheese is optional also the sauces have cals.

    Subway

tuna over spinach with pickles, hot peppers, bell peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes. I do no cheese with the Sweet onion.

These are my two favorites go to meals I can eat off of these at least twice.

    Breakfast

    McDonalds

Round egg I have paid between .45 to 1.05 for this real egg. I think its the egg they put on the Egg McMuffin. This thing fills me up

So far these are the healthiest options I can think of right now. Please share your favorite healthy meals when you are on the go.

  5. I plan to have either a vegan cake or regular cake. I don't dump from bad sugar. Just for this one day I will not over indulge, 1 small piece, one day will not kill my lifestyle change. I also won't tempt my self by having a cake remain in my house Maybe I won't like it or maybe next year I will substitute it for something else but right now this is my plan. I am working out like nobodies business to reach my Nov weight loss goals.

  6. I had to double take whether or not I posted this. Lol I went to my old school and the one person I told didn't say anything. No, one noticed that was at about 40 lbs down. My hubby tells me all the time. My step daughter is the one who really shocked me when she noticed I am at about 50lbs down now.

I don't care but I walk and act like a thin girl flaunting my good health and started walking/jogging about a month ago (3 miles a day) I was late for class and started my jog to class you'd swear I was 18 and 125lbs. lol thats how I felt

  7. Personally I think you can help her more if you are healthier. Before surgery I felt like I was about to have a heart attack and immediately after the surgery I felt 100% better, even though I was in pain (all because of the long scar) I was better after surgery than before.

Plus it sounds like you give a lot of yourself and your family knows that you ALWAYS put yourself last and they are insisting that you take care of you. In addition it sounds like a little fear maybe in place as well.

This is the one time you need to focus on you and don't be afraid of a surgery that these professionals have been performing for more than 20 plus years. (if thats the case)

  8. I was so happy that I had not stalled and this week guess what? Yes, I am in stall mode, I am not worried though I have started consistently walking everyday this week. I am eating right and I feel that my clothes are loose. I think stall means you are losing inches and when the scale does show pounds it will be multiple. So, I am not worried. When I weigh myself next week or the week after I will see multiple numbers dropped.

  9. I have not tried the iFit I like to go at my own pace. I bought a treadmill but I like walking outside early in the mornings. There is a loss of atmosphere in my home. I am not motivated to workout in a place I have made so comfortable. I feel crazy because I wanted that treadmill and it does have the iFit feature just not interested in using it. I wouldn't mind finding a online exercise group like group Skype or something.

I have taken a Les Mill class at the gym with lifting weights and all it was intense and very challenging.

    Best wishes whatever you decide.

  10. I am furious with the actions of the elders and councilmen of this church that you faithfully attend. I am glad that you have found replacements for them for this honorable celebration. I hope they are still invited and feel ashamed that they backed out or other wise. I hope that in the event that they approach you with apologies or any concern with your guest sending thanks and asking for blessings from our Lord, that you are able to peacefully express how they could have handled things with your husband. Even if they don't approach you I feel as if this should not happen to another person and they should be made aware of how insensitive they were and that there is a time and place for everything. Finally, forgive them for their ignorance and remember we all fall short of his glory and it is he who is the only perfect one. Just because they are elders and council men does not mean they are he who is able to wash us clean they are just as filthy as any of us.

  11. @@JosieAppleHead a good day is one that i have limitless energy, do my limited exercises, and do not have to stay up late to finish my Water  . A bad day means i am eating some Protein at 9ish because i do not have enough for the day, but can't take another shake or have to go to bed late so I can finish my Water. On these days, i am tired, so i usually fall sleep in the afternoon. While the nap feels good, I loose the time for water intake.

I usually have a bad day once a week, so I guess they are getting less as time passes. I am a teacher, so I am sure once school starts up things will change. I have begun planning for that time. I have a new thermos that stays cold for 12 hours that I will use for my shakes. This way, I can leave it on my desk with my water and switch between them during the day. I am worried about getting my water in while I am teaching, but I am sure I will just get used to walking around with my water.

I have not hit a stall yet, although i didn't loose for two different days due to cycle. I am just focusing on Protein and water and NOT eating ANY carbs. If a protein has a carb, then of course, but it seems to be working. I miss salads and tortillas. I did make cheese chips for a crunch, but I only eat them about once a week. I have gooten my "salad" fix by just dipping my chicken thighs in light Cesar dressing. Cheesy, but it worked  .

What does your good day/bad day look like? Any suggestions??

You are doing awesome and I admire your commitment and progress. What does a good day / bad day look like for me? I have more bad days than good. I am still trying to break out of my old habits of sitting around and pondering doing something. I must say that this sleeve has given me my life back. I was on all kinds of high blood pressure meds at least three, plus cholesterol med and taking the diabetic pill. I gained close to 20lbs in the time I signed up for the surgery and going through my meetings. I strongly believe my meds are to blame for most of my 20lb weight gain. but I digress. I also felt before surgery everyday as if I was about to have a heart attack, after surgery this pain went away.

    A good day:

7am- 8am Wake up drink my protein shale within 30min of waking 23 g protein.

followed by a 20oz of water

    walk for 30 min

    followed by 20z of water

wait 20 min 1 egg with spinach maybe low fat cheese/ turkey bacon (once a day multi Vitamin, opurity, so gross)

    snack

hour later Protein Drink 23 g protein and a snack I love cucumbers and tomatoes in a sweet vinaigrette sauce with seasoning

more 20oz water (when water gets boring I use a zero calorie sweeter)

    lunch

grilled chicken breast (what I can eat of it)

    20oz water ( 2 Calcium citrate pills)

    Snack

boiled egg fancied up/ or chicken salad

    dinner

baked salmon (what I can eat)

    Broccoli/roasted sweet potato

20z water 45min to an hour later with 2 calcium citrate pills

    Snack

    diced apples/mixed nuts unsalted

    water

I try to get in 120 oz of water which will hydrate me and flush out the fat. most days this isn't possible but I try

also I try to get my longest walk in in the morning so anywhere from 30 min to an hour. 30 min is 1 1/2 mile and and an hour is about 3 miles my goal is 5 miles a day which most days do not happen. I usually get those in by doing 10 minutes at a time in-between doing other things. or late night on the treadmill catching a movie or video or something.

Bad day they very from OMG bad to just barely bad

wake up 9am and just lay there , Vitamins, Protein Shake

    20oz of water no Breakfast

    no snack

    lunch is Breakfast, no exercise

fried egg or piece of chicken grilled (calcium citrate)

usually no exercise on this day

no snack/ no water / no protien

    dinner

    Grilled chicken

    water/ 2 calcium citrate

    snack

    Protein Drink

I avoid carbs and usually look at the package if it has more than 5 g of carbs I usually avoid it there are some exceptions but very rare. I am losing slowly and I am okay with that because it is consistent. I know once my exercise picks up I will lose more. Right now I am averaging weight loss of maybe 2 or 3 pounds a week.

  12. I agree with Avafern, one moment is not a reason to throw the babies out with the bath Water. Thank God for the limited space our stomachs can hold because had it not you probably would have ate 1200 or more calories with that thing. 2 to 3 bites not a big deal. You will remember that and make better choices with the next meals.

  13. I was sleeved June 8th. I have lost 42lb post op and 66 lb total. I am still on soft foods. I have not tried salad yet, I'm too afraid. A lot of meats are too dry (chicken breast, hamburger patties, pork). I am tired of shakes, but without then I can not get enough Protein.

We started out at about the same weight, had surgery around the same time what does a "good day" and a "bad day"(daily routine) in the life of Hisbrowneyedgirl look like? Congrats on your numbers!
