  1. Hello all

Its so exciting to hear/read your stories. I was shooting for a July surgery but during the pre-tests (endoscopy) they discovered ulcers and I have H. Pylori

So mega treatment had to get rid of these things. (More $) and another 6 weeks of delay.

I'm very happy to stumble across this app and wish you all a successful? positive and happy journey.

Here's hoping I'm not far behind.

    Zasha.

Get healthy Zasha...it'll happen soon as time seems to fly (I can't believe half the year is gone already).Keep in touch and let us know how things work out!

  2. Hey July peeps! Got my approval from Aetna yesterday -- I am good to go. July 6 7:30 AM! So anybody who wants to start a July support group--how do we do this? Friend each other on FB? I personally Believe I would really benefit having people to talk with Who are at the same point I am...I can be found under Katie Morgan on FB. I don't have a profile picture posted yet,?but my cover photo is a sunset on the lake. This is a separate Facebook account I use just for my weight loss journey. Thanks and good luck everyone!

Hey...we're almost having our surgery at the same time. My doctor's office just called and there was an opening for 7/6, reporting at 8:30am...this is one day earlier from my original 7/7 date. I agreed, as I had already taken the week off and I'm so sick of this liquid diet.

  3. I' on Day 4 of my pre-op diet and I'm emotional. I have a headache and everything they Okayed me to eat is sweet. I just want something not sweet and not cold.

On a brighter note my pre-op is tomorrow. It's getting so close.

Do any of y'all have any suggestions or motivations that's helping you get through the pre-op diet?

I totally understand about the sweet and cold options (I felt the same way - hot Decaf tea helps me get through it)...can you have the powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury Protein chicken Soup option...it's warm and very tasty.

Great idea - I wouldn't mind joining a private/closed FB group to share our thoughts, successes, challenges, pics, etc.

  5. Hello everyone I have had Tummy Tuck with muscle repair and I am now 5 days post opt and I am loving my results, I am in no pain and the pain that was discusses is overrated or I just have a high pain thrust hold they removed 10 pounds of fat from my tummy area and the results are outstanding. I love the new me and I am loving life. I encourage anyone who has extra skin and it is bothering them to not be afraid of a tummy tuck I was 1 year post opt from RNY . Do not let anyone tell you insurance will not pay for it because they do , they approved tummy tuck with muscle repair and Lipo, I was in such good physical health that I did not need lipo.

I can't wait until I get to this phase! That's encouraging that insurance will pay for it - I'll have to check with mine - I was prepared to pay for it myself.

  6. Hello all! I just had RNY on 5/27 and I am doing OK just having a lil more pain than I anticipated. It's mainly on the side where they did most of the work. I'm doing ok with fluids I'm sure I'm not getting in as much as I should but I just try and sip away. I would like to know what you ladies were eating at the puree/soft food stage? My NUT has stuff like tuna salad on toast or crackers, Beans, Peanut Butter, oatmeal etc. Will I be able to tolerate those on day 7. I don't have any issues getting anything down at this point, I just have to move slow because my rib cage hurts whenever I blink lol so my desire to sip/eat is not there.

If you all have any tips on what you ate during the beginning stages that would be great! And blessings to all who have upcoming surgeries!!

How are you coming along with your pureed food? What is your new tummy tolerating?

  7. I love this thread too....I'm scheduled for my RNY on Tuesday 6/2..excited. .nervous....and ...just ready to chew something after 14 days of liquids.....thanks for all ur posts...I'm taking them in and making a mental note of them all!

@@caligul - Hope everything went OK. Let us know as soon as you're able.

  8. @MochaGyrl@changingme5. Hi im scheduled for RNY on this Friday, June 5th. I am super excited, nervous but oh sooo very ready. Please keep in touch i am so happy to read everyone's updates.

I was ready too, but I think Mother Nature has other plans for me. I contracted a "bug" at the pre-surgery session 5/27 - and it's progressed to a nasty summer cold -- I've been flat on my back with nasal congestion, coughing, and runny nose for the past two days! I called the nurse and she told me to load up on Vitamin C and to call my physician - perhaps she can give me some antibiotics to get over it by Friday morning.
