  1. The first six months? Are you sure he didn't say the first six weeks? I lost the first 20 in about four weeks and then that was it. nothing else came off until I started working out watching my carbs and dieting just like anybody else. Thanksgiving was fine I can't eat **** so it was really no struggle for me. I started the day with fasted cardio. I hope you had a wonderful day today.
  2. @Rose1up!its something i wouldnt have been able to say to someone until now - post surgery so i understand that you didn't think of it then. i went away for a while cuz i was pretty pissed off feeling like i had wasted 12k on this surgery but i'm doing better now. just needed to get my head in the game. i'm down to 206 today. i stalled for a while but i was also really sick for a few weeks and it felt like i couldn't eat anything at all AND i was stalled at 211 for ever. but then i started getting my eating in order and just this week started working out and it's working. so im lowering the carbs and calories and working out and the weight is shifting. once i wrapped my head around the fact that calorie deficit due to surgery isn't enough and i would have to put in some work - things started changing for me.
  3. you can let him know this is NO EASY WAY OUT. sure the first 20lbs or so come off easy but after that you have to work just like anyone else. sure. you won't be able to binge. but you can still screw it up by not eating right and not exercising. it's not an easy way out. i've learned that the hard way over these last six weeks.
  4. i've had to freeze like everything i bought. i can't eat any of it. i just went back to mushy foods last night cuz i was tired of everything feeling stuck. like i said in my other post. if i was losing i think i could deal with it better. but not being able to eat AND still being fat....this is not ok.
  5. @@atontor it's not friends. it's my job. kinda comes with the territory. once the weight starts coming off again i'm sure it'll pass.
  6. i have to admit. today was a regret filled day. it's when you're out to eat with work peeps - you're at your favorite restaurant....you can't eat shit. you're just sitting there picking at stuff....waiting for it to get unlodged from your esophagus so you can take another pea sized bite. can't even enjoy it. AND in the meantime, you're at a stall wtih your weight so suddenly it doesn't seem worth it to have done this. it's one thing if you're losing weight but when you're not losing shit AND you can't eat. it's like wtf did i do this for? would it have been better to just stay fat and diet again? not that there's anything to be done about it now - it's not a lap band it's not reversible....but when do you start to feel "normal" again? i just want to have one day when i'm not sick or feeling like shit. when does that happen? (insert lots of mad faces)
  7. I think I'm just the opposite. I crave all kinds of things but I end up not being able to eat any of it. In fact tonight I went back to mushy. I took four corn tortillas and put them on the bottom of a baking pan and then I did a can of refried beans a can of water and some taco seasoning so that it was very very watery. I put it in the pan and I put four pieces of cheese on top and just baked it to make it warm and the cheese bubbly and ate it. It was very soupy but tasty I just don't feel like solid food is working right now
  8. the face you make when you're trying really hard not to thro up at work.....
  9. mentally I want steak. Physically I can't imagine any solid meat. I tried vodka with oj yesterday. Three sips and ick. Threw it out. Tried a kit kat today two tiny bites. Didn't want it. Threw it away. So there u go. French fries might get me. Idk
  10. Congratulations. Sounds like you're having a very good recovery. Everything you described is very normal similar to what we all went through. Great job. Let us know how you are getting on day by day. @retriever I hear you I had the shittiest day ever there was rain snow and hail there's a giant convention by my work which is taking me an hour to get home and my car got a flat tire let's just start tomorrow fresh
  11. hows everyone doing today. i'm doing fine stomach wise (i can drink like regular) but eating is still bascially the same. little less sensitive than before. vegas thought it would be funny and thro some snow and hail our way.....so i'm still at work waiting for the SEMA traffic and hail to die down so i can go home p.s. i want a grilled cheese sandwich
  12. @@MimiSleeved we have a thread called "surgery day" that takes my surgery from day one 10/7 and has LOTS of great followers with great advice. if you want to come over.
  13. @ i dont measure. but i do feel looseness in my clothes. but im still annoyed after a week of hard work to only see one pound. i think i just got spoiled after the first 3 weeks post op to be losing so much so fast and then suddenly .....nothin. but i'm staying on track and hoping to rebound next week. just needed to pout.
  14. turkey bacon is awesome! i like mine really crunch so i put it between two paper towels for 2 minutes and about 10 seconds (depending on your microwave power) and it's yum
  15. i'm at week four. yes im doing everything right and i know stalls are normal but it's still pissing me off. and people saying don't worry aren't fat enough to understand lol
  16. i don't care!!! i don't want to be stuck. weight is supposed to be coming off every day. and that's that. end rant.
  17. Hmmm I think with insurance you might have to do it. I'm not sure what dictates it. I know Dr. soong felt my stomach and ribs and said it would be easy to do the surgery I think that's because I carry most of my fat in my ass and hips and thighs and my stomach is relatively small. But to be honest I have no idea what it has to do with it could have to do with the insurance thing
  18. I didn't but my friend Travis did. (Also dr Atkinson) are you insurance or self pay? What's your height weight bmi?
  19. I know three of us from vegas. We're kinda like a group lol.
  20. Mocha went down fine. Then Apple sauce made me sick. ????????
  21. @Rose1up! YES!! He is the best! I played tennis with Dawn for years so I met Darren a long time ago - but I never thought I'd have the money to get this done. He is great and so is Dr. Atkinson. The follow up staff at Desert Springs was great too! Dr. Atkinson is hot too lol. He came in at like 6am one morning at the hospital and i was like WTF who is this hottie?? LOL. Best of luck to you. Keep in touch! Since we are both in Vegas we can meet up and not eat somewhere
  22. here it is. short, nonfat, no whip mocha. i'll let you know how it is
  23. we're here for you every step of the way. if you start at the beginning of this thread it was from my surgery day to now (almost 4 weeks later) and this group is really supportive so keep us posted. xoxo!
  24. . Omg your not lying I'm Jamaican and Puerto Rican my family had arroz con pollo last night I was mad as hell since I'm only hitting 4 weeks out today. haha i woulda had a bite or two just to say i did
  25. i had Pasta and bread and potatoes at like three weeks and you know what? i don't even really want it anymore. you can't get enough Protein if you fill up on pasta and bread and the like! the only thing i do miss and sometimes try to eat is rice. i'm puerto rican so that's kinda a given but i don't eat it very much at all. follow the instructions no matter how annoying. for now just worry about your next few weeks! not 6 months from now. good luck
