Why do people regain
i dunno man. im still bout 15lbs away from goal but i can't imagine EVER going back to my old ways. to me its just not possible. i can't eat what i used to eat at all and i'm super committed. even if i get lazy i think i'd ramp back up to stay where i'm at (or where i will be). but how can you regain when you can't eat?? i don't get that at all.

Surgery day!
so it just occured to me we have some noobs on here and some that aren't even sleeved yet so VETS help me out here but here is my 7 month out experiences with the dos and don'ts - i'm not recommending you do it my way cuz i'm super lazy but this is my personal experience, carbonation - i don't do it often but i have and it hasn't killed me. i think i've had like two mimosas and three sips of coke since sleeved drinking during meals - i do it all the time but just small sips here and there carbs - it's very hard for me to eat carbs so i generally don't. i can eat the **** out of some saltines tho lol. potatoes sometimes. rice not much, noodles not much. bread not at all. hunger level - im still very un-hungry most of the time but i can eat more than i used to. i always eat Protein first. i can't eat all types of meat either so i stick to ground beef/bison/turkey, shrimp, sometimes steak. hardly ever chicken unless it's very tender - it gets stuck in my throat. throwing up - i've thrown up like 10x but it's usually cuz i do something dumb like eat too fast or too much or take shots of vodka on an empty stomach lol alcohol - all the time lol. mostly vodka shots cuz it's lower in sugar and it's not carbonated. counting stuff - i don't do it at all but i recommend you do - im sure my losses would have been better or more consistent if i did. i just try to do the right thing on the daily and see how it goes lol Water - i suck at drinking water BAD Vitamins, Fiber and stuff - i hardly take anything but i know i should/need to exercise - i work out 3 to 5 days a week including running 2 miles and lifting weights/toning skin stuff - i have some loose stuff here and there. mostly i've lost my ass completely. if i get to goal and tone for a year and still have it i'll do some sort of body sculpting surgery i think that's it. if i think of more i'll edit this VETS weigh in

Estimated post-op weight loss chart
it doesn't match up for me. i lost 72lbs and i had my surgery oct 2015 so about 7 months ago. My starting weight was 232. 229 on day of surgery. I'm 160 now. but i work out 3 to 5 days a week and i don't eat carbs or sugar or alcohol or caffeine for the most part and i've been doing that since about month 2 from surgery.

Surgery day!
@Rose1up! thanks! i like to have fun with it so imma do it. welp. i guess in a way this is the end of a first journey. i reached my goal weight today of 160. (im still gonna go to 140) but this is still the end of a goal. so here are the legit before/during and almost final after photos. it was HARD work but imma keep going. this is a lifestyle now. the surgery wasn't the fix all i thought it would be but it has stopped me from binge eating which was one of my problems. but it takes dedication and discipline to get this done. so im happy for the push it gave me. i wasn't about to waste the 12k i paid to get this done lol. so there it is. onward to the next goal.

Surgery day!
You're right. We should be pleased with our progress. I honestly (at one point) thought I wouldn't get to 160 so I should b more grateful and appreciative. I might have surgery after. Not sure how things will tighten. You're doing great and look awesome. Here's tron. It's going to glow at night lol.

Surgery day!
@Rose1up! thank you mama. i've decided i need to shoot for like 130. i think the people that "look skinny" in photos are like 115 but that ain't gonna happen for me. my body is being real funny right now and losing like 2lbs per week but it's ok. i'm teetering at 161 to get to my initial goal of 160. then imma start taking boot camp classes to get to the next level. when they say the last 20lbs are the hardest they ain't kidding! haha i love teal. had my tiffany blue car for a while i'm thinking of changing it to TRON this year tho just for fun

Surgery day!
@@KristenLe thank you. i admit i feel a little obsessive about it. i just don't understand how different it looks in photos vs. in person work in progress like you said. hope you are doing great!

Surgery day!
i still feel HUGE!!!! and it's annoying cuz in person i look good. like normal or even thin ish but in photos i look like a pig! it's super annoying.

Surgery day!
@Rose1up! yeah the legs are the LAST thing to go down but they do. I've seen yours go down as well. I can't believe i'm trying for 140. but then i can't believe i'm at 160 either. so there's that. i admit i feel obsessive sometimes now. i wake up and do fasted cardio in the morning and weigh myself everyday and fret about loose thighs and tummy but i still feel fat/not small enough most days. it's really weird cuz we all know mental/emotional sides come with it and even if i'm rockin' a size 10 i still feel like a 16 lol. work in progress. we just need to stay on it and not quit! <3

When do you tell someone new you're dating you've had WLS?
this literally just happened to me. i was dating my guy and we were on about our fifth date...the waitress at olive garden says to me - have you had surgery or something - you barely ate! and i was like oh shit ummm...i told her that i had and she said she had been thinking about doing it too and that i looked great etc and that's how my boyfriend found out....im sure he always just thought i was watching what i ate but he kinda found out by accident. you'll find people don't have the same stigma about ex-fat people that we do about ourselves. but it is personal and it should be a matter-of-fact type of conversation not something you feel ashamed about because why should you? good luck and have fun!

Questions/concerns about the lifetime commitment...
you are right about what you are saying. for the first three months or more you'll feel like a freak. like you've gone from being a compulsive eater to being a completely abnormal eater. it's true. but then you'll get over it and be able to eat normal foods (in small quantities) and start to see the benefits. ask yourself. do you want to be 300lbs for one more day? or do you want to be 185 and healthy and still enjoy the foods you love (in small quantities)? it's not like you stay hungry but are unable to eat. you won't be hungry anymore. Where i could sit and eat 10 rolls of sushi before now i can only eat FOUR PIECES but i am full and satisfied. you'll learn to live this way. if you want it bad enough. but make no mistake - you will put in some work. it won't just happen by itself. best of luck to you!

The wonderous Impacted feces
not to be gross but.....im a girl so i think we're used to doing these types of things but.....i've actually reached up in there with a finger and hooked it out. it's like hard little balls. i know it's gross but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. i haven't had problems since then lol.
-
Regrets?
i regretted it at first. maybe for like the first 3 or 4 months post-op. i thought i'd never be normal again. sick every time i ate. felt like a freak. but now. six months or so later. i can eat pretty normal (small quantities of course but most any type of food) and i'm down 70lbs and i don't regret it. i didn't tell many people so that part is up to you. it's a deeply personal experience.

Surgery day!
ok so 163 right now. that WAS 3lbs from goal but i've lowered my goal to 140. i think i want to be smaller. i want to be don't have to worry about fat rolls small. and even tho i bought a size 10 off the rack at target this weekend. which was exciting. i wanna buy a size 6. i wanna be skinny in pictures skinny. thro on a sundress without worrying skinny. now i know i'll always have some flab here or there (at least until i can afford surgery) but i want to be the best i can be. happy week everyone.

Funny observation about clothes post-surgery
one other thing i will tell you. if you order a dress from china (which i did by accident) an XL is apparently a size 10 there. smh. and even then it's tight! also the quality sucks. like i literally brought a whole nother change of clothes just in case this dress ripped down the middle seam. just an fyi.

@Rose1up! oh yea it's pure crap. u get what you pay for haha i LOVE thai tea but mostly when it has that fresh cream and sugar ok i will try. i work out so much but it's a problem area right now. along with my thighs and butt and ..... lol

@Rose1up! looking good! so apparently a size 10 is an XL in china. and even then it's tight lol. Also the clothes are so cheaply made that I actually brought a full change of clothes in case this dress rips in two!! argh. also my stomach pooch is still an issue. gonna start working out harder!

Funny observation about clothes post-surgery
haha this is totally true. i kept my 18's until they were sagging off me! didn't buy new clothes till i was size 14. i've since bought a couple 12s. they are starting to get loose so yay for that. im excited. i feel sexy again and i like wearing fitted things. still some pounds to go to goal but excited. you do spend a lot of money on clothes tho.
