  1. GREAT JOB!!!! CONGRATS!
  2. I dropped down to my new goal today! Decided to set a new goal - onederland! HW - 348 SW - 332 CW - 205
  3. Congratulations - you look amazing!
  4. Starting Weight, May 2015 - 348 Surgery Weight, July 29, 2015 - 332 Weight today - 5/13/2016, 9.5 months - 207, 141 lbs lost Goal weight - 205, but hoping for under 200
  5. Amazing job! You success is inspirational!
  6. In the first six/eight weeks after surgery, hiccups were my signal to stop. That and a runny nose. After the second month post op, the hiccups passed but the runny nose is still a tell tale sign that I am too full.
  7. Congrats! Way to go! I'm also closing in on onederland and can;t wait to join you there!
  8. As you lose weight quickly, the testosterone and other hormones stored in your fat gets released as well and increased sex drive (and aggression and anger) happen. Lots of great threads about the wondrous effects of WLS in sex drive and performance! Here's one - http://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/219760-sex-oh-my-god-sex/
  9. I used to hiccup when I was full. After a while, I learned to stop before reaching the hiccup point.
  10. Congrats on losing 27 lbs so far! Don't stress about the pace of weight loss. It will come off when it comes off. If you stick to the basic guidelines given to you and get in your Water, Protein and exercise, you'll do fine. This is not a sprint and there is no bigger reward for those that lose fast versus those that lose slow. Good luck!
  11. Every part of my life has been changed, for the better, thanks to the surgery. No more pain or exhaustion! Lots of energy! A whole new life! The best - feeling that the future is open and full of possibilities versus feeling that my physical condition limited me.
  12. Unfotunately I am a slow learner so foamies and vomiting have happened over the past nine months. However, every time it did occur was because I ate something or in a way I shouldn't. The foamies went away after the first few months (hopefully because I learned how to eat). As for vomiting, my sleeve is picky and that's how it lets me know a particular food choice is not appreciated. On a couple of occasions I ate too much, too quickly and my stomach let me know it. Could it happen, especially if you push the envelope - yes. But you learn what you can and can't do. It's all part of the process, and if it does happen to you, a small price to pay for the incredible results.
  13. @@goplay94123, I was allowed to add meats to my diet at about 2 months and I had carpaccio at that point. Once you are cleared for meats, you can try it, but go really slowly at first as sometimes the things we tolerate pre- surgery don't work post. I also tried tuna sashimi at that time and it worked well. Salmon took a couple of months more until I could eat it and it didn't feel really heavy. One thing, I've only been able to tolerate the arugula added to carpaccio since eight months post surgery. I just asked for carpaccio without it. Bon appetit!
  14. Ceviche and sashimi have been a staple for me since surgery. I also eat a lot of carpaccio and tartare from different meats. Turns out that my system does waaaay better with raw Protein than cooked, so I have been really enjoying them.
  15. You're doing fantastic! Congratulations Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  16. Nine months out and no complications. It's not easy, but the many advances you feel, both in weight loss and in life, make the difficulty worth it. You'll develop a new relationship with food and with yourself that takes some getting used to, but you get there. All in all, totally worth it and my only regret is that I did not do this sooner.
  17. Congratulations! You are doing great and look fantastic!
  18. I was a 50 pre-surgery and I'm now a loose 36 where I want to stay. Amazing how much your body can change in only nine months! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  19. No kidding! I constantly feel there's plenty more there but it just won't come out! Any helpful suggestions would be much appreciated! I tried several types of soluble Fiber and they made me feel sick. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  20. Congratulations on all you have overcome and achieved so far. You are doing great! I am nine months out from surgery and travel is still difficult. My wife and I are taking a week holiday at a b&b we love run by a French chef. The food is amazing and even this far out, I have to be careful. Last night I tried a tenderloin in 5 pepper sauce that was sublime - so good in fact I overdid it and paid for it. I have been doing well, but still have problems with food that I really like - I eat too fast and too much. I listen to the signal to stop, but if you eat too quickly, the signal comes too late and your margin for error is very, very small after the sleeve (a single bite). It's a learning process and some of us are slower learners than we'd like On trips, I have learned to take it slow and easy and bring things with me (snacks, protein, etc) that will make things easier. Good luck on the rest of your journey - you are definitely on the right path! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  21. I've bought quite a few items and in general they are good and the shipping is fast. I really like their double chocolate cake mix and the biscotti. Pricey, but very good! It;s a nice one stop option for stuff and the prices are comparable to others on line. These items are basically more expensive, period. I'd recommend using the store.
  22. Congrats on your amazing success! You look great!
  23. My surgeon has nutritionists on staff but I felt that they had a program for everyone and were unwilling to change things at all. I had bad reactions to several foods they suggested and their advice was keep on trying until you can tolerate the food. I found that I was able to research different types of food and developed a diet that allowed me to have the necessary macronutrients while tolerable to my sleeve. 24. A few things hit at once - physical pains, difficulty moving, shortness of breath, no stamina, worsening blood tests - and the fact that the thing every specialist said was that I needed to lose weight. I started feeling like I would not be around for much longer until I did something about my weight. I did, and other than marrying my wife, it was the smartest and best thing I ever did!
  25. I bought some at the store on this site and have been using it with unflavored Protein and cocoa powder to make incredible Breakfast smoothies! They taste just like a reese's Peanut Butter cup!
