  1. I am 8 months out & down 106 lb! I am so glad you are feeling good! Yes lots of changes ... I know I can say its the best thing I ever did for myself!

@@LoseItKacy wow girl you look awesome! I am at 171 now. I wish my belly would flatten out like that! Awesome work

Congratulations on the weightloss. What an accomplishment. What I'd your ultimate goal?

You ladies have given me so much excitement and motivation. I know I've made the right choice. Either of you have instagram? Seems like the Minnesota thread is pretty dead. I don't want to loose communication.

Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App

Thank you!! I am 5'5 & would like to get down to 125 lbs. I do not have Instagram.... I am on Facebook are you ?

  2. I am 8 months out from surgery and down 106 lbs.... Yes I am extremely happy..... But bouncing between 171-174 lately and it's driving me NUTS! I don't cheat EVER.... I am 5'5 and would like to get to 125 lb but when I check the height weight charts it says I should weight 140-150 ..... So for anyone who was within 20-30 lb to goal.... Was it harder to loose those last pounds?

  3. @@James Marusek I am having issues with my peroneal nerve! From weight loss .... Doc checked electrolytes & all are okay. I get drop foot, numb tingling on top of my foot & front of shin of same leg. I am supposed to get an MRI done per my general Doc, but I called my surgeon & I am waiting to hear what they say before I do the MRI. I truly hope this can be reversed. I can't believe I lost all this weight so far, 104 lb in 7 months only to now have nerve damage. I truly hope its not a permanent complication. I can hardly wear heels now ????????, hard time crossings legs because it makes the leg more numb, & I loved being able to cross my legs. I take my B12 three times a day sublingual & Multivitamin with Iron & Calcium. This is so heartbreaking & scary

  4. I am only 6 months out from my surgery and I am worried I won't lose anymore! I lost 96 lb so far... I am 180 right now.... & I have not worked out in a few weeks .... Been different schedule with work and my diet is spot on but I definitely don't see 5he scale drop like it used to .... Not as fast. Yes.... I do hope this is a problem for me one day. Because being scared I will lose only enough to 180lbs or 6months out from surgery and then stop losing scares me.

  5. I totally agree, we live in a world that sickly revolves around food and alcohol. That's my point. It's talked about, it's on tv, radio, tv, billboards, etc.... It's sick. I also dvr and fast forward or Netflix as well. I never drank before surgery so that was never a focus for me in the first place. Well I stopped drinking in my 20's anyway. But now I like you said eat for fuel, period. Ughhhh I am so glad I can come here and be understood. It's a very lonely feeling.

  6. Since my surgery I have noticed I don't think about food very much, hardly ever. I do of course to eat and when I am eating I am thinking about my food then, but that is it! Then I MOVE ON! My life thank God does not revolve around food anymore. I have noticed since surgery that this whole damn world is so sick....... All these people who did not have the surgery ever talk about is friggin food and alcohol!!!! Good God what is wrong with them!! Did I really sound like that before/???? I want to bang my head when I sit around a bunch of people who have not had the surgery and there is no food or alcohol around in sight, because you can GUARANTEE that the damn conversations will turn to food & alcohol! I just sit there in shock of how obsessed the world is seriously. Am I the only one who thinks this?

  7. Oh yes. Have you woke up in the middle of the night vomiting stomach acid? I have. It sucks. My doctor put me on a prescription called pantoprazole. I take 40 MG of pantoprazole twice daily. It's a very affordable medication and currently its free with my insurance. After I started taking this, all of my heart burn and acid issues went away. There are some nights I forget to take it and sure enough, I'll know as I'll wake up later in the night choking on stomach acid.

I had tried over the counter stuff but it wasn't really effective. Hope this helps.

Thank you!! I will call my doc tomorrow morning!!!

  8. I had a hiatal hurnea . Spelling? Fixed during my surgery in July. My surgeon told me it was possible that heartburn could come back with the sleeve. I was basically heartburn free the first few months!! It was fantastic!!! Then I would get it here or there, but no big deal and it would go away easily with ranitidine and tums. Now I feel like I get it almost daily and I eat more tums and it's not quick to go away with ranitidine like early on it was. It's not like it was before surgery, but I am scared. Does anyone have issues with heartburn at 5 months after surgery and it not as easily healed as quickly as in the beginning?

  9. Let's put in in perspective.

It took me A YEAR to lose what you've lost so far.

No, the weight didn't fall off. Far from it. But I could give a sh*t. I'm now at goal and maintaining, like Ann said. The actual weight loss is just a blip on the radar. Maintenence is the rest of our lives.

Someone the other day asked me how much I'd lost before I dropped a size. I couldn't even remember, it's been so long ago. At least it SEEMS so long ago. Just doesn't matter anymore.

    Perspective.

That is a really great way of looking a it! Thank you! Going through the process is mentally taxing I think. Once I get to maintenance it won't matter anymore and all the concern I have now won't matter anyway. It is all perspective. Thank you, I need to practice that for sure. Lol I get caught up in the " I should be here, or feeling like i should look a certain way now" that it causes me to lose perspective. Thank you

  10. I guess in my mind I would say it fell off of me if I was at my goal and looked how I want to look now. Lol I am not at that point yet, so I would never say to someone it fell off me. I would say its the best decision I have ever made in my life for myself. Its definitely a great tool that makes losing weight easier and faster. But yes, you have to work it & own it. It does not do the job for you. It is not a miracle & it won't do it without effort on your part. The weight does not fall off you, you have to earn every pound just the same. You still hit plateaus, you still go up & down on the scale. Its not just numbers suddenly flying down the scale like people made it sound. ????????
