  1. I haven't discussed it with my sugeon yet but I can do 11 days. That's it. LOL. Considering I came home from a c-section in 48 hours and walked up a flight of stairs and took care of my son alone everyday until I went back to work, I think this should be fairly easy. What's up Wonder Woman!!!! Hahah bwhahha, hardly. although I soooo loved her boots!

  3. I have not been at my job long enough to use FMLA, so I chose to tell my manager. I am shooting for surgery on September 4th because that is the Friday before the long weekend and also because my son's birthday is September 1st and I didn't want his birthday to be overshadowed by my surgery. My manager has been great and said that he will do everything he can to work with me. I plan some personal days and vacation days combined. I've mentions it too coworkers, but not to my manager. I'm planning to complete FMLA just as soon as I'm given a surgery date and return to work day. FMLA with contact my manager anyways... I have about 2 weeks for vacation/sick time, but I have UNUM STD... so I'll have money coming in... to cover the other four weeks I'm off.... I only plan on being out of work for 11 days, a little shorter than I like but I think I can handle it.
  4. if you want to follow on fb too I have created a secret group, just post or send me your email and I'd be happy to add you!

  18. Heads up everyone, if any of you shop on bariatric pantry there is a 5% off coupon code for Snytrax, use code "syntraxmbp" at checkout, I just bought some samples to try.
  19. call, ask to speak to your surgeon directly or his nurse, chances are he/she may not know that you haven't been scheduled yet, give them a time frame to get you a date and threaten to cancel, that should get their attention.
  20. I think your story probably resonates with everyone on here. It certainly does with me. I was always the chubby kid, then the overweight teen, then overweight in my 20's and so on and I have gone up and down so many times. Worked my @$$ off but the weight always came back. I am going to be 45 this year, I am a divorced single mom of a 10 year old boy who is my reason and my motivation. He is my "why". My family history blows, they are all dead (parents) my mom had a heart attack, stroke and diabetes (morbid obsese) by the time I was 24 she was in a nursing home and my "mom" was gone, my dad had a heart attack and then another that killed him by the time I was 25. Grandmother (overweight) died of a massive heart attack by the time I was 4. So the odds ain't in my favor. Like I told my surgeon, I don't have any co-morbidities "yet", but if I stay this way I will. I'd like to see my son graduate and be around for a lot more of his life than my parents were. You are not alone in this. I have felt for forever that my outside doesn't match my insides. When I see photos of myself I almost don't connect that the person in the picture is me. I wish you well in your journey, stick with us, you'll be just fine.
