Good good. Out of stock in the regular sizes. Somehow that makes up for all the times I could only find one XXXL shirt and it was some weird camouflage pattern that made me look like a large bush.

Found this question fascinating, so I trolled the bodybuilding.com site, which appears to have plenty of topics from guys who had WLS.
The following is brief summary made up from several posts:
    1. Quality Carbs before a workout AKA complex carbohydrates.
    2. Bananas to keep you from cramping.
    2. BCAA supplemented drink just before a workout.
    3. Protein to repair muscle after a workout. Don't depend on just liquid proteins: fish, poultry, boiled eggs. The more complicated the food the more your body works digesting it.
    4. Shock workouts by alternating whether you do cardio or weights first.
    5. Continue to take a quality Bariatric supplement to prevent deficiencies.
From there it gets even more esoteric what people do to build mass.
Here is an inspiration story on how a formerly 370 Lbs castric bypass patient: http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/body-transformation-danny-figueredo-sliced-his-weight-in-half.html

Nikasio got a reaction from alicia54 in Blue Cross of Florida just crushed my dreams
Affordable Care Act weight loss surgery guidelines require insurance companies to provide coverage for all individual, family and Small Group plans (plans with 50 or fewer full-time employees) only in states where bariatric surgery can be called an "Essential Health Benefit". So basically, the state of Florida does not consider it to be an essential health benefit, so the affordable care act does not cover it. So they will pay for counseling, medication, and the complications of the comorbidities, but not necessarily the bariatric surgeries. You might want to re-check with your surgeon because some states just have high requirements for BMI and the need for several comorbidities like diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, etc. But from what you are saying, you already discussed it with them.

@@Italian Gal You are so right. Somehow the industry doesn't use plus size gals like Klyker, but would instead just put on the smallest size on a slightly meaty gal. The US industry should seriously consider doing what they are starting to do in the EU, self regulate to use bigger models that aren't size 0 or face the possibility of the government (e.g. Italy) passing a law that forces them to use common sense. Maybe then fewer teenage girls will develop terrible eating disorders from the constant bombardment of unrealistic body image. Sorry if I made this rant a little too serious.

@@LousPeachy LOL. That makes about as much sense as putting the handicap parking at the farthest end of the parking lot 'cause they need the exercise. I remember taking my mom shopping and the look of terror on her face as she attempted the escalators when the elevators were broken. Her Parkinson's made it difficult for her to walk let alone take an escalator to get to the women's section on the third floor. If women do most of the shopping then why do they make them work for it? Is it cause they think they'll pickup a toy for the child and underwear for the husband?

So many of the loose fitting pants I have to buy end up looking like harem or balloon pants. Not a good look for short guys.

Okay my rant: Size 18s are now clown pants but size 16 are too small. Camel toe is so not the look I am going for.
This morning I tried on 4 pairs of pants: two size 16, one size 16W, one size 18- all no go. I am now wearing a dress. My size 16 capris fit but other than 1 pair are all not quite dressy enough work work except Friday when we can wear jeans. I guess I am going to be wearing dresses and skirts for work for a little while.

My upcoming support group topic is going to be "how to grow an herb garden." Which when I was a kid growing up in Brooklyn meant cousins growing mint, lavender, rosemary, and basil in a useless attempt to cover the fact that they were growing pot in the middle of their tiny backyard jungle. I am going to slip and make some wise ass jokes.

Was supposed to go for three months. By my third visit I was the only guy there. It was the opposite of a sausage fest. The only time I spoke I was jumped for making one bad joke about wanting the 85% of my stomach to make Haggis. Besides it having been an out-of-date reference to the 1986 Christopher Lambert / Sean Connery movie Highlander, it was somehow taken as an offensive remark about women eating their placenta. I had to research that leap of logic to even find out that some women do actually freeze and eat their placenta.
On the positive side, I did learn that vertical stripes make you look slimmer and when it is the best time to by off-season clothes at Lane Bryant...which come to think about it I seem to have forgotten though I am still a human clothes rack when shopping with ladies.

lol, that is fricken hilarious! I wish I would have thought of that in the hospital, my wife would have chuckled.
I think that is a good example of the difference between men and women. Self-deprecating humor like that always seems to piss off the sensitive types. Some men are that way, but is it far more prevalent among women. Think about it: you have three guys who are friends in a group. One bald, one fat, and one missing a front tooth. They will call each other awful names like Shiner, Hoss, and Snaggletooth. If they were women, they would wait until one went to the bathroom and call her bitch, skank, or tramp.
My wife can't stand being around too many women for long. I told her I just don't understand it. She told me to stop trying. The only people that can understand women, are women. And they hate each other!
As for the support group thing; I just don't know. I have always been the "loner" type. Never ask for help nor confide my feelings with anyone except for my better half. The idea of sharing how I feel with a bunch of people I don't know just goes against my nature. There are sometime when I would like to ask a question of someone who has gone through the same thing, but then I remember that I don't know the context or the perspective of that person. So it is pretty much pointless.
This reminds me, I should post something in the thread someone started about getting angry easily after the surgery...

@@byebyedarkpassenger Chub Rub, AKA fire crotch, is why I have to pay extra for suits. For guys, the solution is to get your tailor to sew in a couple of triangles of cloth in the crotch of the trousers. These will absorb the brunt of the wear and tear and can then be removed and replaced as need be. I also get the inside pants liner so some of the friction is taken up there. The problem is that unless you go to a tailor who also makes suits the selection of material for those triangles is limited. The thicker the material or wool blend, the longer my pants' crotch survives.

Suffered miserably using my CPAP machine and suffered through knee surgery. Now that I am a little over 4-1/2 weeks post op, I am down to 250 Lbs. My physician took me off all my medications and had to re-test me for CPAP pressure. I am so full of energy I am walking over 6 miles a day. I'm tallish - 5'8"- but I have a wing span of 6ft (I'm like a gorilla). I can't ever find anything long enough for my arms. I have a relatively small chest, so all that extra fabric makes me look untailored (and I can't sew more than a button). On the other hand, my upper arms are fat so I need a bigger shirt so I can even move my arms. Which brings me back round to the extra chest fabric. My legs are comparatively small but my waist is big, so I can't find pants either. Argh. I do have tiny little pixie feet.
And also: I HATE that stores are so hot. Who wants to try on clothes when its hot?! And I hate how packed together the clothes are in most stores. I understand about $ per foot, but I think many stores go overboard and do themselves a disservice with this. When things get messy no one cares to try to keep stuff organized.
