  1. Or there are several web sites that offer both bariatric and carb friendly choices, one of my two biggest were Carl Jr's offers alternative specialty cheeseburgers wrapped in lettuce instead of bread, and Panda Express has several offerings......
  2. I have decaf on the weekends because caffeine is a gateway drug for me that leads to energy drinks again lmao
  3. Here in Texas in the states I was prescribed nausea meds because the effects of anesthesia can linger for days, I also was told to stay away from dairy until further down the road, as for the protein try to go online to the Vitamin Shoppe and see if you can order the protein, I buy the 5lb tub of low carb( 1or 5 carbs I think) and 25g of protein, @ $49.99 per 5lbs, the shipping may kill you so look for similar on Amazon or EBay, I may be cheaper to ship, also try to get lots of water in and try to take long walks after your meals, it goes a long way with the nausea feeling..... Good luck, let me know if you figure something out

    HAD IT DONE!

Only time this means something great "LOSER" welcome to the bench
  6. VSGann : more importantly is the severe underlying issue of what if it were breast cancer??? How would he react? That's not reversible in any way, so if if stricken with some horrible debilitating illness does one forget "For better or for worse" ? I believe in the AAA OF MARRIAGE 1 acceptance 2 admiration 3 adoration No matter what happens to my wife I'm always gonna be there
  7. I chose never to touch illegal drugs, and now it is almost not illegal, but I still choose not to do things like that, I work in a psych hospital and ironically I don't even like psych meds, but I've seen benefits of people who need medical marihuana, so I will never judge others who take it, as with my surgery and wanting to changes lifestyle it will never make everyone happy, but it about me not them......

    Soda

I've done sips from time to time when my wife asks me to try hers, I think she gets a kick that I don't like it anymore, the carbonation is ok but the sweetness is yucky, especially coke, I crave my water flavoring a lot especially my "Tang" water drops, and my punch Gatorade G2, I also wanna try the Nestle fruit water............ Not to be a hypocrite I do crave Energy Drinks every freakn day!!!!!!!!?
  10. My relationship with my wife is actually very strong, she has stood by me, and been supportive, we met 8yrs ago and I was 350lbs, I got up to 388lbs last December and after my surgery on June 10th this year I am at 294lbs, I workout a lot and people notice very quickly, now she is a little insecure about her weight, she was a size 7-8 when we met and after she had my twin boys she got up to almost 200lbs, now she hovers at 165-170lbs and says she feels bad I'll be at my goal weight of 190-198lbs by February-March 2016, now she wants to shed her lbs bad, I love her no matter what, it does bother me that I have had women flirt with me a lot lately, I went to work yesterday to finish my paperwork for end of year, and one or the nurses started to flirt and asked me what unit I worked on since she was new and she said she would visit me next time, flood of feelings, flattered, little angry and confused, but I can always and will always walk away cause my wife is hot and I don't forget that..........
  11. Haven't posted in a few days, too much going on, went to beach one last time before kids started school on Monday, but I bought my first set of clothes @ 48-50 instead of 60-62, in down to 296lbs, started at 388 in January and was at 246lbs on June 10th surgery date, that -92lbs so far, and I started doing core exercises at the gym yesterday, I've had 2 minor stalls and I don't even care, and I think I really am addicted to this new healthy life, I don't eat crap anymore, nor do I have tolerance for it, I will try to stay ahead of schedule but I am looking at my goal weight of 198lbs by February 2016, I hope everyone of my buddies on here are doing well, I wouldn't have been able to get this far without this forum, I miss my Elode, and Babbs, two of my inspirations, see you all soon since I am planning to buy clothes soon and doing a before and after finally........

    Catching up !

My wife took a pic of me on my chair at the Beach, and when I ran across an old photo of me 2 years ago on a fishing trip with my nurses from work I became very emotional, and since my wife sees me everyday she said she was in awe, I'm at 92 lbs less than 388lbs in the photo

    Stall

I have had two minor stalls since June 10th, when I see a stall I just go back to basics for 2 or 3 days, and continue my activity level, protein for breakfast, light lunch, and light protein dinner and lots of fluids, plus 3 days a week at the gym, 388lbs in January, on June 10th surgery date was at 346lbs, then last Monday @ 296lbs, so 92lbs lost since January........ So approximately 11.5lbs per month, so 227lbs by February 2016 then 29lbs more to goal weight if I can keep up this pattern, I think it's reasonable for me, I just don't stop because of stalls, I keep looking ahead and keeping my mind on the goal!!!!?
  15. I think with the scarring you will have slightly more discomfort and pain after, th gas isn't too bad especially if you try to get into the habit of walking, I had just posted on the Band last week because some of my friends have had numerous complications, I chose the sleeve because I don't trust the band, and I thought gastric bypass would alter my system too much, it was the right decision for me, I started at 388 in January and on June 10th at surgery was at 346, today almost two and a half months out I am at 296, I feeling great and I'm happy my stomach doesn't hold a lot of food, my new normal is great and the only side effects I've had are reflux(I control it with Prilosec) and I've suffered from dehydration twice, both times my fault, but I'm feeling like never before, and I don't think I will go back there again, I wanted this and I am committed....... Good luck

    Small victories this week!

I'm just trying to pay it forward
  20. So I started my journey in January at 388lbs, then on my surgery date June 10th was at 346lbs, then this Monday I hit 299lbs !!!!!!!!!, on Wednesday I went to the gym and broke my recent PB, I arm curled 80lbs x 3 reps on the Cross Pulley Rack( my old PB 15 years ago was 90lbs x3 reps) so I will hit my goal of 80lbs on the arm curl bar by December, and tomorrow we are going to the beach before school starts on Monday, they let me off work this morning since it was slow, I went to Walmart and got some shorts and a T-shirt at a size 48-50, that is now 11 waist sizes down from 60-61w, and I think my first stall is over, s o much to be grateful and happy for but little time to think about it since I am busy setting new milestones all the time now, I feel as if I'm working off perpetual motion now, u feel good then hit a milestone and I want to keep going................ #livinglavidaflaco

    Small victories this week!

It's been alot harder than any of my diets in the past, but because I wanted it, and now have the tools and knowledge it is very rewarding and it makes you want to do more and more, and it does get easier, I'm even having this tattooed on my back right shoulder next year as a reminder, it may not mean as much to some people but it has very deep meaning for me And made me tear up when I first saw it
  22. I cheated at work again and went in the exam room and weighed myself( I'm supposed to wait til appt on Sept 11) my goal was to hit 299 lbs by the end of August, well I was at 300lbs and my shoes weigh exactly 1lb, so I'm at 299lbs!!!!!!!! First milestone complete, I started in January at 388lbs, on surgery day June 10th, I was 346, so this is an awesome accomplishment for me, and I was emotional because I haven't been under 300lbs in 31years, I posted to my friends on FB but wanted to post on this forum since it has been a big part of my journey, so I apologize, and even started ahead of schedule on next milestones, 1. Hit 250lbs 2. Arm curl 80lbs @ 5 reps( I am at 60lbs @ 3 reps now) 3. Get new scrubs at 3 or 4x instead of 7x ( I've lost 10 waist sizes) I'm not stopping because I love the forward momentum, I'm addicted to all this now........ Lmao
  23. It is not about consumption amount post surgery, it becomes a matter of what you start putting in your mouth months or years later, my dietician uses the term "New Normal" and I plan to move this as soon as I'm educated enough to learn to balance carbs, protein, fats, and I want that to include meat, vegetables, grains and fresh fruit, but it doesn't mean I wanna go back to fries, cake, chips, sodas etc..... Think about where I'm going with this, my mistake was never bothering to learn the healthy right foods to eat and moderation, I have the tools I need now but just like any good craftsman I don't want to build anything shabby again....... I'm not ready to go outside my new normal yet, but I'm getting there
