UPDATE: I was denied by Cigna.

The reason..."the Doctor needs to provide more clinical notes". When asked what EXACTLY was needed in these clinical notes, it he rep said,"well I don't have access to the pre-certification database but they will send a letter to the Dr".

Disheartening to be made to jump through all of these hoops AND continuously be down in weight at each required visit just to be told we need more notes.

Well 48 hours from last Wednesday has now been moved to July 1st. But that's okay since its in review and not denied status. No news is good news I guess?????

Some good news! I should have an answer within 48 hours. So I'll give them a break tomorrow and call back Friday????.

How long after being informed that your packet was submitted to your Insurance company did you start calling and following up? Also has anyone had success getting their Dr's office to call and expedite things? I was submitted on Monday and have called about 4 times already in 3 days.

My packet was submitted to Cigna yesterday and I'm hoping there are no issues and that my PCP's letter of recommendation/necessity is sufficient...it seemed somewhat general to me but my case manager sent it through. Fingers, toes, and eyes crossed ????. I'm planning on calling today just to ensure they received it and then bugging the heck out of them since they make us jump through so many hoops.

I have my final appointment to go over all of my tests from the insurance required 3 month monitored weight loss on Monday. I cannot wait! I pray they submit everything that day and I can get approved quickly. Does anyone know if they'll let you schedule a 'soft' date while waiting for insurance????? I figure it doesn't hurt to ask, haha but I'm assuming NO.

I have the Fitbit Charge and I love it. With it synced to myfitnesspal it easily shows me what I've burned based on the number of steps. I too like to challenge myself to get between 8-10k steps per day since I'm sitting all day for my job.

I can only imagine how tough that must be, but you got this! I cannot make my surgery appointment until after my insurance approves it and I have to wait until June 15th to submit so we will probably be having surgery around the same time.

I'm hoping for the same! My last follow up is June 15th and I really want them to submit THAT day. I'm excited to get to surgery day!
