  1. Anyone out there tried waist training by wearing a corset? I have a non-sleeved friend who is using one and has had great results. Just wondering if the loose skin issue is too much of a complication to do any good. Thanks in advance! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Veterans ONLY please. One year + post op.

I'm in! I am only at 13 months (post-op and since joining) but I think there needs to be somewhere for when the journey changes into something completely different. I have hit that point now, and I'm feeling like all of what I've been through over the past year is like a past life or something. Not at all sure how I'm going to move forward, and having some of you out there ahead of me would be really helpful. Also, I think part of the reason that people stop visiting the site is what you've been saying- the threads are mostly people who are getting ready to become or are still newly sleeved. It gets old seeing the same questions about what to eat in the soft food stages now that I'm not going through that anymore. I know that sounds egocentric... Ha! Sometimes I surprise myself! 3. I am about 13 months out from VSG. I have started to feel "normal" again, with hunger and cravings having returned. I'm worried about it now, and that's where my problems have started. The fact that I'm out of the "honeymoon stage" and can eat mostly anything means I'm having to monitor and control my eating with more vigilance. It makes me feel anxious, and then that triggers my emotional eating. I'm worried about ending up right back where I started. I know this is the part of my journey where my training is supposed to kick in, but I'm not doing too well. I'm generally just feeling very down right now, and I am feeling the same hopeless feelings that I had before I had surgery. Anyone else out there feeling this way? Anybody have a suggestion for me? 4. I have been wrestling with this same issue lately. I'm 13 months post-op and it has suddenly felt like I can eat pretty much anything with ease. I can still feel the restriction of my sleeve, but I'm able to eat more (obviously) and therefore I've been eating more. I agree with you that this is a good thing, and also that our bodies are supposed to be adjusting in this way. I think you raise an important point about the mental/physical connection between hunger and our healing timeline. Thanks for your thoughtful post! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  5. Hi, everyone, I just joined this forum and I'm so encouraged by everyone here! I'm having my sleeve on Wednesday the 20th, in Portland Oregon. Anyone else on that date?

    Mind games but I'm ready!

I'm going through the same feelings. I'm scheduled for gastric sleeve on Wednesday the 20th. I keep reading other people's posts about their progress and that helps to remind me why I'm doing this. I know everything will go well for both of us!

    Portland Oregon sleevers

I would love to be part of a support group for sleevers! I just moved to Portland from New Mexico! I am scheduled for surgery at OHSU on 5/20/2015. I'm looking to make some connections for support here, especially people who understand what having WLS means.
