  1. 5 weeks will go so quickly Heather and then you can start your weight loss journey. You will be so busy, all your free time will go to sleeping, not eating:unsure::laugh: I have 6 weeks left, wll 6 weeks and 2 days. I am finding it daunting thinking of the weight i have gained, so I have decided to stop weighing myself and commit to eating as healthy as I can. Hopefully the breastfeeding will help with the weight loss. :cool2:
  2. Good luck Wendy. My sister in law lost 2 babies and was so nervous during her third pregnancy. Her daughter is now 1 year old and the pain of her 2 miscarriages seems like a lifetime away. I hope it all works out for you
  3. I lost 35 kilos (77lbs) and have gained 14 kilos (30.8lbs) since becomming pregnant. I agree with fairyfacade, it is hard to gain weight once you have lost it. It messes with your head, especially considering how hard it was to lose:sneaky: I have only 7 weeks to go, so atleast I have not gone back to where I started, i would hate it if i had . I think its best to wait as long as you can. Obesity is dangerous during pregnancy. I have a 3 year old son and when i gave birth to him I had a retained placenta and haemroaged, my obstetrician said obesity does increase the risk of complications. Maybe get some medical advice too, maybe from an obstetrician aswell as a band doctor, see what they say. i am sure here in Australia, we get given diffferent advice than you. Good luck, and happy baby making
  4. EJMdiva, you have done so well. Your weight gain is nothing, so try not to worry too much. 12 weeks will go very quickly and then we can all start a post pregnancy weight loss support group I have gained 11 kilos (approx 25lbs). Which is way more than i wanted to gain. I am now 33 weeks and can't wait to have bub so I can start to lose again. With my first son, I actually put weight on while breastfeeding, so i am a little worried, but my obstetrician says there is no reason why i can't be filled and breastfeed:smile2:
  5. You look so cute Heather, nice belly
  6. Thats great news Ejmdiva that your hubby can feel bub, it is so magical. I am now 33 weeks and having leg cramps at night, craving red meat, but can't eat a steak :tt2: I also crashed my car last week. I reversed out of my driveway and banged into a truck, no one was hurt, but feel like an idiot:cursing: 7 weeks to go until I have 2 boys, can't wait. we have been decorating baby's room and have decided on a name, Calvin  Current weight 121kgs, a gain of 14!!, ouh
  7. Glad everything went well and carson is safely here, that is all that matters. How he came out is irrelevant, he is here, now the fun begins, congrats Momma
  8. How exciting, hope all goes well fairyfacade, can't wait to hear about lil Carson, all the best xxx:smile2:

banded,5 weeks pregnant and spotting :(

Sorry for your loss Thunderstorm i will be thinking of you. From what I have been told about the band is that it makes pregnancy safer and there is no link between banding and miscarriage, so don't blame yourself. I hope you are doing ok, you will be in my thoughts.

    Why does this upset me

Thanks for your replys. I was in a low mood last night and hearing the other side really helped. The thought of some stranger greasing up my belly is gross:scared2: My husband suggested that if anyone questions the fact i am pregnant to reply to them by saying "Ok, I'm not really pregnant, you obviously know better" and see what they say. I guess when you are pregnant, you feel so vulnerable, so at the mercy of what other peopel think. I know it sounds silly, i am not usually like this. Thanks again:cool2:

    Why does this upset me

Thanks, wow, 38 weeks, only 2 more to go, yippee for you. Good luck with the birth and for the weight loss that follows
  12. Ok I am 28 weeks prgnant and I have put on 8 kilos. I know it may not seem like much, but I have been craving sweet, sugary foods and it is starting to worry me. I need to snap out of it and stop drnking the choc milk and eating the lollies. I am half unfilled and need to rely on my will power. Does anyone have any ways/plans of attack, help me, I don't want to gain too much weight :frown:

    weight going up

Maybe you are just having a very big baby. My sister in law, who is very petite put on close to 40 kilos when she was pregnant, she was so upset. Most of hers was Fluid and she lost it all within 3 months of giving birth. I think she even got lower than her starting weight. I find it hard to believe that all your weight gain is body fat, it must be baby and fluid. But seeing those scales must be so hard. Just think, you can start fresh when baby comes :huh2:

    weight going up

heather, i see by your ticker that you got down to your goal, well done. That must make it even harder seeing weight go back up. Milo is a malt/choc drink you add to milk. Its delicious. I made hubby hide the tin though :huh2:

    weight going up

Thank you for replying Heather. When are you due? I am due June 14th. I am with you on the drinking liquids. Since being banded, I have been so good and have mainly only drank Water, but since being pregnant, my cravings too have gone up. i drink so much milk. Yesterday I think it was close to 1.5 litres:unsure: I know in the grand sceme of things its not so bad, and my husband keeps telling me its for the "greater good", but when I have worked so hard to lose that weight, it is soul destroying to see 8 kilos ome back so quickly. It takes so long to lose :rolleyes2: I need to snap out of it, I even just had a big glass of milk with milo, what is wrong with me :scared2:
  16. yeh i like Elijah samuel. I am having a boytoo, due June 20th!!

    Heartburn/overfilled

I think you have a great outlook on it all, a healthy baby is the most important thing and you have lost so much already, that 44lbs isn't the end of the world. I guess, if you had not lost any, you would have gained weight being pregnant on top of your pre band weight. Good luck, when are you due?
  19. well I am 22 weeks pregnant and all was going great. Up until last week I had gained only 2 kilos and was pretty happy. I was able to eat a moderate amount, nottoo much, but enough according to dr and dietician. so I remained unfilled. Then last week I started experiencing mega heart burn and was unable to hold much down. I was paranoid somthing had happened to my band. But going to see my band doctor he said that pressure during pregnancy can cause the band to become tighter. He took out 1 mil and now I can eat again. Not too much, but in a week I have put on 3 kilos. I am npw back up to 112 kilos I am assuming it must be just because I was dehydrated. But I am so scared that after I give birth I will have all this weight to lose again. Iknow I should just focus on a healthy baby, because thats the main thing, but can't help feeling worried:scared2: What has your experiences with band tightning and weight gain during pregnancy?

    How long did you wait?

i was banded Jan 16th 2008, and fell pregnant in september 2008. My doctor said there was no reason why you can't get pregnant, as long as your weight loss is not dramatic, I had lost alot very quickly and had been maintaining my weight, so there was no problem. I think if you were to lose a kilo a week and be pregnant then its not good. I am due June 20th, had my anatomy scan on saturday and baby is nice and healthy. its amazing at how little food you can eat and maintain a pregnancy. With my first I ate for two, now I am eating for half a person and baby is ding well, yay :bored:
  21. I have been banded 12 months and am 19 weeks pregnant. My docctor did not remove any fill. I have still put on a few kilos as I have been eating a bit too much icecream:sneaky: i was worried at first about not being unfilled, but I seem to be eating enough, and my obgyn and dietician think its enough for the pregnancy. I have my anatomy 19 week scan tomorrow, wish me luck:thumbup:
  22. Newlife, i am so sorry for your loss, you will be in my thoughts:crying:
  23. I think you should probably speak to your doctor. I did hear somewhere that going under anaesthetic can dry up your milk supply....but I am not sure. Initially after surgery you eat very little and are on clear fluids only, I would think that would not be enough to maintain milk supply, but i would only be guessing. How are you going with feeding. I had my first son weighing in at 147 (328 pounds) kilos, I found feeding so hard and he would fall asleep coz my boobs were so heavy for him. I ended up expressing and fed via bottle, it was very hard. i am now 18 weeks pregnant and 40 kilos (88 pounds) lighter than last pregnancy....I hope the weight loss helps with feeding this time around.

Perth Bandsters - your stories & successes

I was banded on Jan 16th 2008 by Dr watson, I started at 147kg, got down to 106kg (a loss of 41kilos) in October, then got pregnant and have since put on 3 kilos:crying: I am now 18 weeks pregnant and all going well. I am so paranoid about putting on too much weight, but also am so determined to have a healthy bub. This is my second and last pregnancy I was 40 kilos heavier so its gonna be so much easier. I had a slight unfill since getting pregnant, i can now eat meat, which I thought I needed. I am trying my best to eat healthy foods and I have been exercising. I figure if I can get through this pregnancy by only putting on 10 kilos, I will be happy. P.S, I have been away for a while, but am feeling better and back
  25. Hi Heather, Congrats on your pregnancy. This is my second pregnancy and I really battled with my first, i was nearly 40 kilos heavier and so much more miserable. i am looking forward to actually looking pregnant and not just really fat. I have been craving milk too, what is with that. some people says it means i am having a boy, some say a girl LOL, go figure, everyone is an expert. I have stayed teh same weight for the past few weeks and i am happy. I do have restriction and my dr does notthink I need to be unfilled. I am seeing a dietician though and am on a strict diet. I have been eating icecream though, I am so bad. The old fat me has the potential to raise its ugly head again  All I know is I want healthy baby and i want to do it by gainingthe least amount of weight possible. is that too much to ask?
