  1. YAY! If you want to be my buddy I'll be yours! We could be a trio of buddies! How about it?

I want to help encourage both of you, and get the same in return. Bounce ideas and thoughts off each other, and maybe have a shoulder to cry on when times get tough. I'm going to friend both of you, and hopefully this can work out for all of us!

Ohhh I forgot to say, I'm on my 10 day liquid diet. It's going fine, try to keep busy. It helps. Keep drinking that water! :) I already can tell that warm things...tea and broth help fill me up more.

That sounds marvellous, yep day 10 is almost over and I can not wait I keep getting asked how do I feel as it's not long. And to be honest I'm nervous scared and just want it to happen.

  2. I'm in day 10 and I have been struggling I have stuck to it and been diligent but boy have I felt like sh*t.

I think it's part mental, I have spent so much time invested in the "after surgery" phase that I never put any tine and thought to the before surgery preparation.

It has gotten better as the days have passed but the desire to have the unhealthy food comes and goes.

Sometimes I am so sick of the thought of food I can't be bothered, but I have to push on.

  3. I think a lot of at first think WLS is cheating or the easy way out, that is why a lot of us don't want to tell anyone at first.

But as you research more and more you learn it is not easy it is not cheating and you do have to work at it.

Most people would think that us with weight issues lack discipline and resilience, and that is why we choose the surgery. It takes discipline and resilience to get through this.

  4. May the 20th for me, and I'm so ready for this. I am using the opti fast and I like the straw berry I like whip it in the ninja blender and partially freeze it the whip it again, it's such a great smoothly.

I've also whipped up pumpkin smoothies and when I have the Soup I use cold Water chuck a hand full of veggies fresh or frozen and whip it up the heat it in the microwave.

But all I can think about is creamy curried eggs

  5. I had surgery 4/23. I'm on purée until Thursday. A LOT of these suggestions sound more like "soft" food phase to me. Purée should be baby food or apple sauce consistency so unless you are blending them or mashing them into what you would give a 6 month old baby you may be getting ahead of yourself.

My dietician tells me in the purée stage "if you can suck it through a large straw you can eat it" that is puréed enough

  7. Even though you didn't have the surgery to lose weight your sub consciously hoping it would do it for you.

You know the fundamentals of losing and maintain weight with WLS, go back to the basics and re-start, re boot your system.

Go back on the shakes do your exercises and avoid the temptations that got us to the weight we all put on.

You know what you need to do and you can do it, the surgery is only half of the tools for successful weight loss you are the other half.

  8. Well I have contemplated this thought since deciding to go through with the surgery, I know I will have all the excess skin (the deflated balloon look) but the health benefits out weigh it.

I'll admit it I am a vain person and I do suspect there will be days when I will hate my body, and may even regret the surgery.

I already have huge bat wing arms so I know that will get worse.

I am already open to the fact that I will need some reconstructive surgery, I guess in one way I am lucky that I although I am a big woman I didn't get the big boobs, but that worries me too because if I lose any I won't have much there
