    Labor Day Challenge!

    Happy Labor Day everyone!! This morning I am 196!! Beat my goal by 3 pounds......11 1/2 weeks out, 59 pounds gone!! This challenge was awesome stephh, thank you for all your hard work keeping everything organized. The motivation of a weekly check-in really kept me focused and accountable. Hope we do it again. (hint, hint)

    I, too, eat them half at a time as a snack. I love the chocolate brownie warmed for a few seconds in the microwave. Yum. Like the others have said, it's the net carbs we should look at and not the total carbs.

    Things you can do with PB2 that I have tried are: PB2 with Polaner All Fruit, PB2 with sliced apple, PB2 in a smoothie with banana Greek yogurt and almond milk, and PB2 on celery. Yummy!

    I was sleeved on June 18th. Have lost 40 pounds since the start of my pre-op diet. I had a bitter taste of the dreaded stall between weeks 3 and 4 when I lost nothing for 6 days! Ugghh! Been losing steadily since...will be 6 weeks on 7/30. I can eat most everthing now except salads and steak. My nurse practitioner said those will be the last things added. A few things I have eaten don't want to sit well such as green olives and pickles. Drat! I love those 2 things. I eat eggs every morning for breakfast and sometimes for supper. We raise chickens and have eggs running our of our ears! Awesome source of Protein and easily fixed in so many ways. Another thing I eat often is PB2. I have always been a Peanut Butter fan but wouldn't dare eat the real stuff any more. PB2 is a fantastic alternative. Plus, when I want to have the sweet taste with it I use Polaner All Fruit strawberry or grape...scrumptious!!! My third "go-to" meal is part-skim ricotta cheese . You can add all kinds of healthy items to it or just eat it plain. This week I have been adding 2 tablespoons of chopped avocado and that is so yummy. I don't think anything put in ricotta could be wrong. Even the Polaner All Fruit is a delicious sweet treat.

    Sharp pain upon inhalation?

    The sharp pain will go away. I had the same thing at just about the same time. Lasted a few days but mine was on the left side. Then just as quickly as it came...it was gone. Who knows what it was? Guess we never will! Good luck with your food!

    When did you start feeling more energetic?

    I am so glad to read the responses from others. I had wondered about my energy level but hadn't asked. I am 4 weeks out and just starting to feel normal again. I still have to take a nap in the afternoon and I am going to bed much earlier than I did pre-surgery. I used to be quite a night owl...but now I am in bed by 10pm or earlier. I can tell that I am able to walk for longer periods of time (up to 40 minutes now) and don't dread the walking any more. I still have some days where I don't even want to get dressed...just stay in my jammies and lie around all day and read. So on those days I listen to my body and give in. I know I am still healing and shoudn't push it too much.

    Sleeved June10th 2015 and STILL at a stall!

    I think one HUGE mistake I have made is eating fat free refried Beans (which I love). I can only eat 2-3 tablespoons but since they are loaded with carbs...I guess it adds up if I eat them several days a week. And yes, I have just realized that the yogurt I eat daily has 15 carbs!! So...out that goes. Sounds like eggs, cheese, chicken and fish for me from no on. Trying to stay away from sugar-free foods because of the apartame. Let's see what the next week brings!

    I'm having a hard time with the carbs staying close to 30. My NUT said I can have between 30 and 50 grams daily but since I am stalled, I have tried to keep it closer to 30. Today it was 41!! Not happy....I am going to have to rethink my soft food choices.

    I have been stalled for the past week. It will be 1 month for me tomorrow. Very frustrated. I have lost 35 pounds since the 2 week pre-op diet. But now, nothing!! I am having a hard time getting liquids in.....they just don't taste right. I have always been a big Water drinker but since the surgery water (or any liquid) sickens me. I agree with Shustar...the water plays a huge part in getting the weight off. Ughhh!!! Also, you really need to talk to your GYN to see what's going on with your periods.

    Vitamins.

    I am using the chewable Centrum and they make me ill. Like others, I go for days and don't take them because I am afraid I'll vomit. Have to do something different.

    Gas or reflux pain ?

    Doesn't sound like reflux. You'll know that if you ever get it...and I hope you don't. The burning in your throat and chest is awful with reflux. At time it makes you feel like you're going to vomit. I agree that your pains sound like gas but you need to consult your doctor if it keeps up.
