  1. I'm 11 months out and I loved coffee before surgery. Afterward I couldn't stand it at all!! I kept trying to drink it though because I missed it so much. After about 6 months I could choke down a half of a cup. Now I have a cup every morning and I enjoy it but not like I used to.
  2. Thanks so much for your comments. I appreciate the support and help. Omeprezole does make it go away for a while.
  3. It mostly hurts when I haven't had anything to eat. Like when there's nothing in there but the acid.
  4. I had RNY last May and I have recently began having a severe burning in my pouch and the intestines that it connects with. It's like stomach acid is boiling in there. Has anyone else experienced this??
  5. Thanks everyone for your responses. I've been wrapping gifts today so the exertion would not be the reason. I'm a teacher and stand/walk/squat all day everyday. Today was relaxing actually. I didn't eat a meal either. I had a sausage patty a couple hours after my morning protein shake. That's all I had eaten when this started today. It's not the first time it has happened and I was just wondering if it was something that anyone else had experienced. It lasted a couple hours today. It's not usually that long.
  6. Has anyone experienced hard rapid heart rate? I'm wondering if I may be low on some Vitamin or something. My blood pressure is fine but I feel horrible. Lightheaded and just plain yuck. My resting heart rate is 87 right now and it feels like it is pounding. Im 5 months post op and haven't had any problems. This has been going on for about a week.
  7. Hi everyone! Just wanted to take a moment and share that I am down 48.6 pounds in 3 months. I'm about a pound less than I usually get down to before I start gaining the weight back. I'm so excited to see the changes that are ahead for me!
  8. Thanks!! I do walk everyday. 4 + miles. It finally moved. Thank goodness!
  9. Will it pass? I've never had this feeling. I ate a piece of deli ham. Not too much or too fast. I chewed it up really well. It's been 3 hours and I'm still in pain. I tried to eat a Popsicle a few minutes ago and threw it up.
  10. I'm one month and two days out and I still don't go very much. It's easy for me to go 5 or 6 hours without needing to go and I drink all the time.
  11. I'm 15 days post op and for the past 2 days I have gained weight!! What's going on??? I'm worried!!
  12. Hi Tim! I hope your surgery went well and you are recovering nicely. I'm 13 days post op and doing well. Only a couple of painful spots remain. I just moved into the puréed stage and I must say it was way easier to to get the protein in during the liquid stage. I used Carnation instant breakfast no sugar added, 13 grams of protein when mixed with 8 oz skim milk and added 1/3 cup instant fat free dry milk to make it 21 grams of protein total.
  13. This is hard but it's going to be worth it!!
  14. Thinking of you Veronda! I hope everything goes well!
  15. My surgery was the 12th also! I came home the morning of the 14th. I'm walking every day and trying to get as much liquid and protein in as possible. I haven't been able to drink 64 ounces of liquids yet. I'm really trying but I'm so full I feel like I'm going to pop. I'm still really sore and have a lot of gas pain and a headache all the time.
  16. I would call the Dr. Office for sure. That sounds nerves related and I would want it checked out. I hope you get relief real soon.
  17. I'm 4 days post-op and can only drink about 3 ounces before I feel like my pouch is going to pop. Then it is a couple of hours before I can sip anything else. I'm really trying to get the liquid and protein required down but this is miserable. The fullness combined with the terrible gas pains is taking an emotional toll on me this morning.
  18. I want your lemon chicken recipe. Looks Devine!!
  19. Thanks so much for responding. I just came back from walking and I'm hoping this goes away real fast!!
  20. Hi everyone! I had my bypass on Tuesday, May 12th and everything went great. I was released Thursday, May 14 with no problems at all. There were no mirrors at the hospital in which I could see my stomach but I knew it was quite swollen from touching it. I was also never weighed after surgery. When I got home and looked in the mirror I just couldn't believe the way I looked and I weighed 12 pounds more than before I started the liquid diet. Is this normal? How long will this swelling be present? I'm very uncomfortable being so swollen all over. My legs and arms are even swollen. Someone please respond with your experience. I'm not sure what to do.
  21. Hi Jenn! I had my surgery yesterday also. I'm doing great, too! I started walking yesterday and I had my first medicine cup of water this morning at 7am. I just finished cup 2&3 and went on walk #5. I'm doing everything I can to recover quickly. Glad to hear you are doing well also. Let's stay in touch!!
  22. I'm going in this morning too!! Supposed to be there at 8:30. I'm excited!!
  23. Hey May 11th people! How are you doing? I'm going in at 8:30 in the morning for mine!! Just wondering what to expect.
