  1. I'm almost 4 wks out. I too was bit surprised about the drain. Mine went across the lower abdomen but came out easy. Just felt weird. Take a deep breath RELAX and it will be over before you know it. Thanks for the advise. I get my drain out Tuesday.
  2. 26th also and very nervous. I know it is the right thing but still seek to wonder. Cold feet I guess.
  3. I haven't had those thoughts. I keep thinking about how I am going to cut my favorite recipes down to small portions. Without having so many leftovers I won't be able to eat it all

    Insurance denied me :/

Do you have medical issues because of your weight? if you do, maybe your doctors office can help with getting the insurance to step up. My insurance denied me because My BMI was below their requirement, because I was adopted and do not have biological history, and do not currently have weight related health issues. I went with the self pay because I do not want to get to the place insurance wants me to be before they will pay.

    1 week post-op...

For the chewing need, is using gum an option? My surgery is not until the 26th, so I have not started the liquid portion yet.
  8. Pre-Op done, bills paid, only 1 week liquid before surgery; no panic attack - It is getting real, I'm getting nervous & excited
  9. All will be good. Hang in there.
  10. Nice to know there is another person from Kansas City - I am going to North Kansas City Hospital BariatricWill it be your consult visit? I am doing my pre-op tomorrow with surgery scheduled for May 26th

  12. i thought about starting the liquids early but not real sure - mostly I am just taste testing different protein drinks to figure out what I like.
  13. I was nervous and scared also at the beginning but it will pass hun. I also waited over 2 yrs to get it done and i finally had it done may 1st. Right now i am having lots of gas pain but other than that im ok. Just not eating anything but then again im not hungry.. I found popsicles soo good at this stage which is clear liquid stage... Im done on the 8th then i can add yogurt and fat free milk to my diet can't wait for that good luck hun u will be fine.. It will be all worth it... I started on may 1st with 261 pounds and i just weight myself and lost 7 pounds I'm still a but out to be nervous - I am sure I will either after my Wed appt. or when I start the liquid diet - that is when I think it will become real to me.
  14. I am right there with you - surgery the 26th I go in for my pre-op on the 6th, - very nervous about liquid diet I go on the 6th for pre-op too at 8:45am! do you have to do a full two wk liquid diet? they have been talking a week liquid diet so I am interested on what they finally tell me on Wed.
