You'll be fine Michelle. Eat the soup & broth. Try sugar free popsicles. In a few days you get to eat a bit more -
Don't think I'd eat chili yet. You're prob still on soft foods. Soup, scrambled eggs, grits, mashed potatoes. Pudding. It's been a while I 've forgotten most of it. My nutritionist laid out my menu & I followed it

I am 4 months post op & have lost 100 lbs. It was the hardest thing I've ever done. The liquid diet for 2 weeks before surgery was hard. But I did it. You will give up fried foods & sugar. You will only be able to eat a few bites of food at first. You will be able to eat more later but not much. Do what they tell you to do & you'll be successful. It's a lifestyle change but I have no regrets. I like the new me. I've got another 100lbs to lose -

It gets easier after the 3rd day. If you get really hungry drink an extra shake but don't cheat & eat. The liquid diet is the hardest thing I've ever done. You can do it. One day at a time. It passes fast. Try sugar free popsicles. Sugar free hello. I'm 4 months post open & have lost 100lbs -
Correction. Have lost 100lbs. Weigh 310 now. Feel &-look much better
