  2. Not sure how i feel about being put on cholesterol medication. I know i need it, but never thought I would need to be on it at 28 years old. Wish I had started taking my health more seriously earlier in life.

  5. Got the news last night that my sister and her 4 young children will be moving in with us for a while. Really worried about sticking to my routine and staying on track with all the chaos over then next few days/weeks.

  6. Today was the final piece of prep prior to surgery. I had the Upper GI done and they found a small hernia. The good news is my surgeon said if one was discovered they would fix it while doing the sleeve. I am hoping even better news is that by repairing the hernia my insurance will cover part of it. I am currently "self pay" so this would be big.

  7. Bllod work and EKG done and to the surgeon. Upper GI tomorrow and then I have provided everything I was asked for. Next step is setting a date. Hoping for July before the wife goes back to teaching school.

  8. My official surgery weight is 245. I kicked some butt on my pre-surgery weight loss.

Yeah that doesn't seem like much pain meds...maybe they will give you more later? I was given liquid hydrocodone and told to take it every 4 hours. I took it faithfully until I felt ready to stop at 3 days out. The leftover anesthesia in your body can cause some nausea. I did better at first with sf popsicles than water. Do they have any of those? At least then you are getting a bit of fluid in.

Yikes on the hiccups..that does sound painful. Stay on top of your pain meds and take your next dose as scheduled. I took them faithfully for 3 days and then dropped them. I tried to stay ahead of the pain. You will get tired for sure and its easy to forget you just had major surgery. Sounds overall like you are doing great and that is great to hear. I have often found that when I get hiccups, I focus on slow even breathing and they go away. Hope they are gone for you!

  12. Day 10 pre-op, still losing! When I want to stuff my face I just remind myself how well I'm doing by trying on clothes that are not too big.

  21. It's certainly been awhile but my boss was on vacation last week so I filled in what most of what they do and was too busy to update. Had my first seminar on Wednesday last week with Dr. Lamond and it went wonderfully, my boyfriend (I hate that term since we've been together for eight years and have a child together but we are not married) went with me and he suggested after hearing all of the info that I switch the procedure to a Gastric Sleeve since it appeared "safer", but I am set on the Roux-en-y. I was a bit surprised that I got an appointment with Dr. Kligman so fast considering Dr. Lamond at the seminar said it might be a couple of weeks but mine got set up for exactly a week after the seminar, so this Wednesday. I'll talk with Dr. Kligman and see what he suggests would be in my best interest as far as surgery. Luckily when I called my insurance for the fourth time I found out more information than I did the first couple of times, they will be paying for everything pre and post op so that is a relief, even the psych eval, I did get the name of the person who I spoke with but even if they end up saying they won't cover pre and post op procedures but they will cover the surgery I will still go through with it because this isn't something I want, it

  22. Just entered Twohundredtown for the first time since 2010!

  23. Ugh Liquid diet has started today but I will survive this we are 7 days away from starting a new life ill be darned if I will let a liquid diet stand in the way of that!

  24. Enjoying my new strength & cardio routine, but not the increased weight on the scale. I know why that happens when doing strength training so I'm trying to not let it affect my psyche. NSV - Toning muscle and losing inches!! Yeehaw!!

  25. Went to the movies and skipped the popcorn. Snuck in a Vitamin Water zero and a protein bar.
