Monistic chafing relief powder gel is the BEST! Ladies you can mix a little with your foundation and your face feels baby soft all day. I have trouble finding it so I just order in bulk from Amazon. But I walk 3-6 miles a shift and my thighs would feel like raw meat until I discovered this. Now my inner thigh skin is never irritated and the skin has healed and looks so much better.

No surgery yet. But I like the Monistat Chafing Relief powder Gel. It provides excellent prevention and relief from chafing on my chub rub. I find Walmart usually offers the best price.

Welcome Catherine! I was Oct 5th too. So glad you're finally able to post! Looking forward to getting to know you better.
I track my food on my fitness pal, bit more for Protein goals right now. My doc said stay under 1000 for weight loss at my size, so I try to stay under 800 personally. I find its hard to get much more than that in though. Been feeling more restrictions lately on soft foods. Funny when I am full now I hiccup and my nose starts to run. Makes me giggle a little. It's so different.

I am averaging around 650 calories a day. I'm just not that hungry any more. I drink Water in between meals to help with hunger. I need to remind myself to eat. I was a boredom eater in the past. I keep myself going and busy now. No more couch potato for me any more. Welcome to our family!????

    Hello!
I was sleeved on the 5th (a lap-band revision) and have been reading all your post from my phone over the last few weeks but was not able to join in the conversation (I'm not too tech savvy).
I'm on soft foods now and find that I am hungry every two hours or so. When I talked with my doctor he wasn't concerned and assured me that this is not "grazing". (I'm Keeping my carbs low and protien high).
Are y'all counting calories? I am eating about 1000 a day and I thought I should be consuming less.
I just have a real fear that just like the lap band the sleeve is not going to work for me.

I was sleeved on the 22nd. I got up and walked around my apartment about 5-10 minutes every few hours. They suggested every hour but I was sleeping a lot those first few days. I slowly started working my way up and I walk about 15 minutes every two hours. Pain meds still make me a little sleepy so I rest periodically but I'm up and moving (dishes, cleaning, etc) whenever I can. I also go to the store with my boyfriend to walk around.
I didn't really want to hang out with people either. It's trying to really focus on yourself. It's a little too much for me to make sure I'm drinking and walking while around others.

Thanks for the updates, its good to see I'm not the only one trying to figure out what foods work and which cause problems. I'm 5 weeks post sleeve surgery and I travel for work. Eating at home is no problem, but being away is a huge challenge right now. I'm slowing down and trying to make great choices, but they are not always available. I do travel with my premier protien, so I fall back on that for my protien.

bread is the bane of my existence. Bittersweet. I have always considered a slice of toast, chunk of fresh baguette, a bagel with cream cheese, etc, to be a perfectly acceptable meal. But it is not and since I started my WLS journey bread has not even been in my house.
That doesn't mean I haven't craved it, hunted the internet for a reasonable substitute or sifted through hundreds of "bread" recipes on Pinterest.
Then I came across a post on another forum where a member was RAVING about a recipe for "cloud bread." She said it was awesome, amazing and we should all give it a try.
And I did. And it was amazing. I had chicken salad on a couple of "slices" and it felt like be reunited with a long lost friend.
Here is the recipe, try it, you won't regret it..
    CLOUD BREAD
    2 eggs Separated
    2 oz Cream Cheese
    1/8 tsp cream of tartar
    Preheat oven to 300′.
Separate eggs. Whites in one bowl, yolks in another.
Add cream cheese to yolks and mix until smooth. In the other bowl add cream of tartar to whites, and beat with hand mixer on high until fluffy and peaks form.
Carefully add the yolk mixture to the white mixture and fold to combine
tupperware overnight. Like Magic they turn into “buns”.
    Enjoy!

Welcome. Are you getting all your Protein in to hopefully make you feel fuller? My weightloss is slow, but steady. Pre-op education helped me with my food obsession. This is definitely not easy, but just keep making good decisions at the grocery store and eating out. Surround yourself with high protein, low sugar and low carb foods so that you can eat and not deprive yourself. You can do it.

I stopped eating fast food and my triglycerides went from 240 to 147 in 50 days. I am not on any meds for cholesterol. My mom was able to get her numbers to normal in three months and the only change she made was eating oatmeal everyday (she doesn't eat fast food).

Hello all - I've posted a few times but mostly have been reading all of your posts and it really helps. I was sleeved on October 5, just 3 weeks yesterday. I am happy, but I am also still obsessed with food. The first 2 weeks were weird because the more I drank the hungrier (at least I thought thats what I thought it was) I became. Finally a few days ago I actually felt the restriction kick in.
Meanwhile weight loss has been slower than I would have hoped - still, I never could have done this on my own. Marcia, now that I am on the other side I can honestly say that it seems you are making the best choice and you will be so happy with it!
All in all, I am excited for this. Old habits do die hard!

I was very strict with my carbs and sugar the first three months after surgery. Random muscles started twitching uncontrollably and I had no energy at all. My muscles ached all over. My doctor told me I HAD to increase carbs. In fact he wanted me to eat a few bananas a week. I thought he was crazy but I immediately increased my fruit intake and while it took another month or so to recover I felt SO much better. I'm also only 6 pounds from my goal weight so not too shabby.
My husband can make some magical salsas. My favorite is his pineapple mango salsa served over grilled chicken...I'm glad my doctor tells me eat the rainbow. ????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Yeah, never is a long time! My post-op recommendations allowed a 1/4 cup of fruit beginning 2 weeks out, like soft peaches and pears (in juice for softening, but refraining from drinking said juice). I don't think it would hurt being a part of your diet in the future.

I should also mention that my thirst nowadays is not the same as before surgery. I don't eat any junk food anymore, no serious sweets and my sodium is probably cut in half. So my thirst is more easily slaked than before. If you follow a healthier diet like we are supposed to, I wouldn't be surprised if you find the same true for you as well.
