    Texarkana Bandsters

Called Betty. She asked a few questions like are you eating too fast and too much at once? Well, I tend to take too big of bites and rush when I am eating. I have to be at work at 7am and have 30 minutes for lunch. I tend to rush. I am trying to slow down but some things are still getting caught. She also emphasized the need for protien and I am not getting much of that. I went back to the fish again yesterday. That is my only friendly meat lately. Breakfast is oatmeal. The Quaker weight control brand has 7 grams protien. I wish I could throw up. It would ease the pain. I start to hickup, then belch, choke and go through the entire thing again. My chest is so sore from this choking. If it is not better by Monday, I will go back to see Dr. Heiker. I had my hot chocolate first thing this morning. Then you need to wait an hour because of not drinking (am I right?). So, I have got up at 5:30am to drink the hot chocolate so that I can wait an hour and consume the oatmeal (see I have 30 minutes to get to work and eat the oatmeal). Right now, my stomach is growling like crazy but it is only 11am. I have had 2 cups of coffee, a glass of Water and some crystal light trying to waterlog myself so that I am not hungry. Oh, the madness. I think I am doing something wrong. Do you come to the meetings?

I don't know if I am too tight or what. I am not losing any weight although my band got tightened the 13th and I am choking on everything, especially meat. My throat is so sore. I don't eat hardly anything. I am hungry so I eat non protien things like sf pudding, sf jello, etc. I even choked on mashed potatoes. I thought sure I could eat that. I am however craving crackers and can get those down. Any suggestions? This is frustrating.

    Banded 12/18 And staving!!

I was banded 12/14. I have lost 32 lbs. I seem to be able to eat just about anything but bread and some meats. Yes, they get stuck. I am also very hungry all the time. I exercise 6-7 days a week 30 min to 1 1/2 hours, walking, bicycling and weights. Adding protien helped but I am still hungry all the time.

    Legs cramp and back hurts

I am stretching and taking a bariatric chewable vitamin. I was having a little problem with this before I was banded but now this is very intense.
  7. I have been walking briskly for about 2 months now. I have got up to 3 miles 3 times a week on a walking path. The other days only around 2 miles on a treadmill plus weight training 3-4 times a week. The past 2 weeks, I have had severe cramping in my calves and my back hurts really bad. I am 54 years old so that may have something to do with it but I feel as if I am missing something in my diet, vitamins or something. I have also stopped losing weight which has not been coming off real well anyway. I have to keep an eye on the calorie intake to be sure I get at least 800 calories a day. I have started a protien shake but the cramping is still there. Any suggestions appreciated.

My box is still filled with liquid and it sucks. I cooked the Christmas dinner and it was torture but I would take a swig of my water bottle and go on. Whoopie! I was banded on the 14th and have an appointment on the 3rd. Will he fill then or wait. The 3rd will be the end of the 3rd week. I have not gone to mushies yet. But, I don't fill restricted at all. In fact, my stomach is rumbling bad today. Also, what is a liquid vegetable laxative? :help:I can't find anything and I need it bad. I have to make myself drink water. I am bad about drinking nothing. Also, I have read on this board about people having shoulder pain. I have had it bad the past few days. It does fill like a crick in the neck and liquid tylenol and heating pad helps. It seems to come on every day around 4pm. I was grocery shopping the day before Christmas and kept having to stop and lean on something for the pain in my neck and across my back. Needless to say, after Christmas, I slept for a long time. I am so tired. I started out walking good but have now slowed down. I may have over done it. Where do you go to do the little ticker at the bottom?

Skim Milk is my best friend right now. I always used 2% and turning to skim did not make a big difference. I try not to drink it cold. I am wondering when you can drink something cold? I am having sugar free or diet hot chocolate first thing in the morning, cream soups at lunch and supper and a little bit of applesauce. Lot of water. Is sugar free koolaid okay? I have some grape juice also. I have been drinking Dasani flavored water too. It is not carbonated. Broth makes me nauseated and I don't know why but I am staying away from it. I got some carnation instant breakfast yesterday to help with the protien. I ordered the shakes and vitamins but have not received anything yet. I guess because of Christmas. Maybe sometime this week. I weighed yesterday and have lost 5 pounds since surgery with a total of 14 pounds since the pre-op diet.

I am better today. I have been very sore. Turns out that I had a gigantic tear in my diaphragm. Dr. Hekier even took a picture of it. Looks bad. I can tell that the hernia repair is taking longer than the lapband to get better. Then there is the gas........... I have walked and walked because this has been a problem for some time with the hernia. I got upset last night and chewed on a tums. A few seconds and it was releived. They said to use the gasx strips but this did work better. What do you guys think. Also, did the area where the port is located seem very sore? Already lost 6 lbs.:clap2:
