  1. I'm pre op but I've been doing a lot of research and a lot of people are using the Gas X strips while in the hospital. You place the strips on your tongue and it dissolves, so it shouldn't interfere with any medications or the procedure. Hopefully this helps

    June Sleevers!

Happy to say I had my upper GI on 6/11 and everything looked good, and I'm cleared for surgery on 6/25. I just have to go to a hospital required workshop/seminar on 6/20 and meet with the nutritionist the day before surgery on 6/24. I'm still very nervous, it won't seem real until the day of surgery.
  3. I'm starting my pre-op diet in 5 days and my surgery date is 6/25. It seems every since I found out my surgery date I've been eating a lot more thinking I better eat what I can since I'm going to be missing out on all this junk food after the surgery. I know this is the wrong way of thinking especially since we're suppose eat to live not live to eat. I shouldn't be focused on the food I'm going to be missing out on... but focusing on the new life I'm going to gain by losing the weight and getting healthy. Has anyone else experienced that "last" meal mentality prior to surgery and the pre-op diet?

    June Sleevers!

June 25th is my official date for now...if feels like I might have a few more hurdles due to needing a Upper GI and being self pay...everyone wants the money upfront before I even get an apt and extra fees that I hadn't planned for are appearing I'm hoping everything works out and I'll be sleeved on schedule!!!
  5. I'm so excited I had an apportionment with my surgery today and I received my surgery date (06/25/15). There is a bunch of things I need to do prior to surgery: Meet with the Nutritionist Hospital Seminar Get upper Endoscopy Other pre-op labs I'm a self-pay patient so things are happening pretty fast but it also means that I have to pay first for everything. I'm also doing my surgery out of state (In Alabama) 3 hours away so everything I do need to has to be planned in advance since I live in Georgia. I have everything scheduled except the upper Endoscopy. The surgeon's office suggested their local doctor but I want to know what I'm getting myself into prior to the upper endoscopy in regards to price. Has anyone had to self pay for this procedure? My surgery date is 6/25/15 and I need this done asap...its going to a expense I didn't foresee since its not apart of my WSL self-pay package. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
  6. wow that's expensive, I'm hoping its not that much for me.
