Whoo hoo...just had my 3rd of 4 Nut visits. All tests are done and last Nut is 8/11. I was told today that all paperwork is in and we are just waiting until 8/11. I should see surgery for end of Aug or first of Sept!!! 8/31 woyld be the perfect date for me! Getting closer for all of us. I'm soooo ready. Stay positive everyone...we're almost there!

Ok! Psych Eval DONE! Another step closer! Whoo hoo!

One step closer... I have my psych eval tomorrow and I'm nervous. Haha, I worry that he'll see a need for more visits. Yikes! Then 3rd Nut visit on the 6th and only 1 left! Aug 31 would be perfect for me. Fingers crossed.

I had my 2nd of 4 Nut visits yesterday. On my 1st visit I was told I needed to lose at least 10 lbs for liver shrinkage. So.... I switched myself to a low carb, high protein diet. (Well mostly). I weighed yesterday and I lost 3.4 lbs in the last month!!! I'm thrilled with this! With my thyroid issues I hadn't lost weight in quite some time. I have until September to lose the rest and I'm looking forward to doing it. Baby steps, right?!?! No more 280's. I'm down to 278.8 and hopefully that's short lived too. Stay focused everyone!

Just getting started myself. Bmi 44 Cigna TX. I'm planning for Sept also. Kids back to school and a quiet house for half a day sounds good. Keep us posted.

My sons are 11 and 13 and they both have told me that no matter how long I'm there they want to be there too LOL My 13 told me he'd stay the night if they let him. Haha. He's such a mama's boy! I don't think wild horses will keep them away. Good luck to you and keeps us posted.

I also have Cigna. I'm in TX and no one has said anything about past bmi history. I'm 1 month into my 3 month wait and nut appts (1 down 3 to go). Haven't done psych eval yet. Just procrastinating. Good luck and keeps us posted on everything.

I have Cigna in TX and I went for my initial tests at the hospital outpatient pavilion.(Just getting started) and I was told that Cigna didn't cover any tests for obesity. Not even an A1C test. What? Anyone encounter this? Could someone have possibly coded something wrong? I need 3 blood tests and 2 chest xrays and an ekg. Blood alone is gonna cost almost $1000 if I have to pay myself. They charge a $200 facility fee too. Do you think my PCP could do the tests? He has a lab tech and xray equipment in office. I had to do an ekg and chest xrays 8 months ago when he discovered I was anemic. Or do I have to go to the other place? So bummed. My first dietician appt is on Wednesday and I wanted this behind me but, I guess not.

I'm just starting. I've had my fist visit with the surgeon and my first dietician appt. My insurance, Cigna, requires 3 months with dietician(4visits), a psych eval, and doc wants me to lose 10 pounds to shrink the liver. Good luck to you.

Oh I didn't say this, but they are covering the surgery. So why not the tests? So wierd.

But I'll ask anyway. I'm just getting started and have my first appt on Friday, 5/1. I'm ok with the surgery and just about everything that goes with it. My problem?? A colonoscopy. Does everyone have one? This is something I am seriously having difficulty thinking about doing. I tear up just thinking about it. I have Cigna Open access in Texas and I know all my basic requirements. Nothing has been said about tests yet. I'm sooooo dreading this. I need positive enforcement here. Thanks in advance. Sorry I'm a 46 year old baby.

Thank you everyone!! Just had my initial consult and I am relieved to say no colonoscopy for me!! GOOD. That just creeps me out! My first dietician visit is May 13. Gotta do some labs and an EKG prior so, I'm on my way.

Hi everyone. I'm so ready to get this party started! I met with my PCP yesterday and my Letter of Recommendation was sent to my bariatric office this morning. I've already checked insurance (Cigna Open Access in TX) and I'm on my way. I just wanted to check in and say hi. I'll be popping in again for sure! Keep up the greatness everyone!
