  1. I know the feeling. My surgery is 28 th. I have worked in hospitals for 25 years. You would think I would not be scared. My other big concern is caffeine withdrawal headache. I have cut way back and I get up with a headache every day. I gave up the diet Pepsi two weeks ago. Now I have one glass of tea every day.

I wish you and your mom the best of luck. You are going to be fine.

Thanks Hun!! I've also worked in hospitals for ten year as I nurse I think I know to much and it makes me freak out!!! I should know it will all be ok but the what ifs get to me!

I also get up with a headache everyday. I find it's a lil better with a cup of green tea but I'm soooooo ready to be headache free. They suck! Soda withdrawals are tough lol but worth it I know! Good luck to you as well. Feel free to message me after the 8th I'll update you on the process! Or follow me on here I plan to post all about it!

  2. [quore name=tpakkies" post="3838226" timestamp="1432302473]Hi Dr

My name is Terence ,I would like to know how can I avoid DVT since I will be flying from South Africa to Mexico ?

The reason they worry about dvt when flying after surgery is due to prolonged sitting. Try and walk as much as possible on the flights! Get up every time you can! Try and get a isle seat and walk up and down the isle every hour 1/2 or so! Also change your seating position rotate crossed legs stretch legs out in the isle or under the seat in front of you etc.... Keep them moving! Good luck! Stay moving and you'll be fine!

  3. Dr Garcia is doing mine and my Moms sleeve June 8th at Cer in Tijuana! It's getting so close now! Im getting anxious about the procedure and my Mom being ok. I know it's nerves and everything will be fine I'm just starting to freak out a little!

I'm also starting to have mini panic attacks about the foods I will miss lol This is silly and I'll get over it but I'm mourning my food addiction I guess lol

I'm also starting to worry about gas pain after, hunger pains, and dehydration headaches!! I'm just in the worry stage I guess everything is starting to sink in!!!!!

  4. Hi! What all are you eating on your regular diet? Good job on the weight loss!!!

Thanks hunny!! Good luck to you too!!

My regular diet includes pretty much anything. I am having Breakfast right now. eggs with chorizo. But my portion is about the size of half a cup.

Yesterday I had chicken meatballs cooked in a light Tomato Soup and the day before Pasta bolognesa. Everything in small portions and I make sure I chew everything the best I can before swallowing.

The only thing I couldn't hold down was bread. I fixed myself 3 thin slices of a baguette (tapas style) with cream cheese and smoked salmon. I did throw up that time. I read before that bread is complicated to include in your diet after a sleeve.

I also had to program my phone to be reminded to eat. I feel no hunger (thank you Lord) so I have an alarm programmed to remind me every hour to either eat something or drink something the rest of the day.

Hard to stay hidrated when you can't drink more than half a glass of Water without feeling discomfort.

How about you??? How is your diet so far?? How do you feel after trying something new for the first time after surgery???

I discovered my sweet tooth must have been pulled along with my stomach during surgery because I can't stand anything too sweet anymore. It's disgusting! (Thank you Lord once again lol)

Very cool that you can eat such a variety!! I hope my sweet tooth disappears also! My sleeve is June 8th so 2 more weeks! I'm currently 2-3 shakes a day and chicken and salad for dinner preop! Thanks for the info!

  5. 15 days away from surgery I decided to do a day of liver detox.

This includes eating only raw liver loving foods and juicing!

I started out juicing beets carrots ginger and apple! That's was great! Had a salad for lunch with spinach kale walnuts with lemon and grapefruit squeezed on it for a dressing that was great!

Got a headache around 1 so I napped it off!

For a early dinner at 5 I felt super sick so I had a Protein Shake, decided against raw only and added extra Protein in the form of black Beans and chicken! Had a small side salad with feta almonds grapes and apples. Also had one half avocado a small 4oz chicken breast with fresh garlic and a 1/2 cup black Beans. I'm very satisfied but I can tell my body is detoxing from sugar junk and diet soda! Feelin a bit yuk but it's tolerable!

I also started to not drink liquids with meals wow this is tough I'm so thirsty during my meal but I'm going to wait 30 min! I want to get in the habit now!

Tomorrow I'll start the official 2 shakes a day and salad and chicken/fish for dinner plan. I'm excited about it after having a decent day today!

Then 3 days before surgery I'll do clears only and laxatives the night before!

    I can't believe it's 15 days away! I'm so excited!

  6. People are very judgey!! I'm a nurse to my bmi also is 30. I'm not telling a soul im doing it! Didn't want to hear their crap! The only person that knows is my mom and she is going with me and having it done to!!! Good luck to you Hun don't worry about the haters! You do you! There is nothing wrong with wls even if lets say it's just cosmetic (it's not though it totally a healthy lifestyle change) like you said people get Lipo implants but implants etc to look better
