  1. Hey! I'm Tracy! I am also looking for an accountability partner. I just posted to this page as well. I had my surgery June 2015 I haven't quite made it to my goal weight, and like you my husband and I would like to have a child but I want to wait until I am at a healthy weight. I want to lose about 50-60lbs as well. My current weight is 222. You can find me on FB Tracy Nicole Caruso or email me at tracynicole5181@gmail.com

  2. Looking for a support buddy to keep me motivated. I am 47lbs away from my goal weight. I have a hard time remembering to take Vitamins and drinking Water. I am falling into some bad eating habits and I need to break them. I do go to the gym 3-4 times a week. I do a lot of walking on the weekends and I do have exercise equipment at the house as well.

I need someone who is going to help me. I have some good gym friends but they don't get the whole picture.

    My stats:

    BW:369.8

    SW:346.3

    CW:222.0

    TW: 147.8

    GW: 175.0

  4. @@Arianna0228 That's cool. I started several years ago as well, but when I contacted my insurance at the time, they said they did not cover it so I did not proceed. Then I got a letter saying they would cover it this year due to a pilot program my company was offering, and I contacted them at the begging of February and had my first consult on March 30th. And with all the pre req stuff, it pushed me out all the way until now, I was hoping to have it at the end of May, but that didn't happen. Oh well. at least I am able to get it done.

  5. I know what you mean. My Dr. has me on the liquid diet for a total of 3 weeks. :-( I am stating on week 2, although, I did cheat some on week 1, only because, I was having a hard and stressful day on Friday, due to having to put my kitty to sleep. So I thought I deserved something other than liquids and the small salad that I can have each day. I did my pre-op last Wednesday, that is what really made it surreal for me. I cant believe that the time is ticking down, 14 days to go!! I can do this!!!! So can you!!! If you are interested I have a blog on wordpress, fatrolldiaries.wordpress.com, feel free to check it out. When did you start the process for the surgery?

  6. @@caligul I am hanging in there. I am on day 2 of my liquid diet. I want to eat my arm off, but I am hanging in there. I have been really good about trying to keep track of all my liquids that I take in, and make sure that I am following the phase two diet as follows. How long were you in the hospital? I am so ready for the count down to be over. I have 20 days left until it's "D" day. I hope you continue with doing what you are doing and keep giving me a positive out look on it all. Luckily I have a lot of work to do at work before surgery that it will keep me busy and my mind off food.

  7. Saying a prayer for the June 2 surgeries. I was supposed to be in that group. Ended up sick last week and today my dr cancelled surgery. I know it was for the best but I am feeling frustrated. Most likely will be moved to June 29. Wishing you all the best. Also, keeping the rest of the June group in my thoughts and prayers.

@@4shooters hope you are feeling better. I'm on June 29th.

  8. @@sonandonubes Please seek help immediately. You should not be mixing prescription drugs and alcohol to help clear you head. You are doing wonderful. I would love to lose a 100lbs. I know things are going to be rough and we are all going to have our ups and downs, but you cant let the downs get you this far down. You are amazing and an inspiration to many of us. If you need to talk to some please message me, I am a good listener. I am also 33 and I have no children.

  9. Hello Everyone!! I am new to bariatricpal.com, I joined a few months ago, but really wasn't sure what I was doing. I went to get my pre-op blood work done this morning and the phlebotomist that was drawing my blood told me great things about this site, as she had the band done several years prior. I am glad that I am getting the chance to sit back and go through all of this. I am going to start with telling everyone a little about myself. My name is Tracy, I am 33 years old, I am married to the love of my life Marc. He has a daughter (Olivia) from a previous marriage that was adopted from China, so I became an instant step-mom, she can be a handful at times but I love her. I currently work at a technical center in Florida as a secretary, I have been working at this school for almost 15 years (September). Currently I live in two locations during the week. Monday - Thursday I live with my father to help take care of him, cook his meds, take him to Dr. Appointments when needed, and anything else I can do. Friday - Sunday I live with my husband. Yeah its not fun, but it works for us.

So now a little bit about how my story has gotten started. I have always been over weight, always been the biggest out of all my friends, and usually every where I would go. Back in October of 2014, we got an email from the school board I work for that if we wanted to get the chance to have one of the surgeries, we could enter in to a pool to, in which would be selected by our insurance to participate in a pilot weight loss program. The day after my birthday November 18, 2014, is when they selected the names. However, my name was not chosen and I got a letter in the mail a few weeks later stating that and telling me I could sign up to participate in weight watchers. Which I have already tried with no luck. So I let it go, however at the end of January beginning of February, I got another letter from Blue Cross saying "Congratulations, I had been chosen to participate in the pilot program. I was so extremely happy. I immediately called who it told me to on the paper, a amazing lady from Blue Cross named Joyce, she gave me a lot of the details and soon after I got started.

I attended the seminar at Celebration Health, where I got more awesome news, and the following week I got started making my appointments and and getting my clearances done. Wednesday May 27th, I got a call from my advocate to confirm my surgery date and set up all pre-op appointments. June 29th I will get going in to receive the RNY Gastric Bypass and I can not wait. I am nervous and scared and all over the place. I am sure their are others out there like me as well.

June 8th I start my 3 week pre-op liquid/protein diet. Does anyone have any advice on the best Proteins out there, also looking for a good multi Vitamin as well.

I am hoping to meet others who are in my same boat or that have already gone through the surgery or are thinking about going through the surgery. I would really like to meet new friends to have a support group because I know the road ahead of me is going to be a hard one.
