  1. If you don't have Pinterest, I would get it! They have some great low carb high protein meals on there!Oh. Thanks. I do have Pinterest Will check it out.
  2. Hello all I was wondering if anyone has or knows of a good bariatric cookbook. I'm gonna research to internet but just thought I would ask. Will let you all know if I find something good. Usually when I would diet , I can find and eat the same 5 or 6 food items over and over. Thinking maybe because I am no longer "dieting" but adopting a new lifestyle, may help to have variety.
  3. Highest weight : 347Surgery weight : 331 Surgery date : May 5th 2015 (15 days post-op ????) Current weight : 311 We are doing so well.. Keep it up ???? We really are all doing well, here's to continued success.
  4. Hello Andrew Welcome to the thread. For sure, many ups and downs to this journey. I believe the ups will outweigh the downs ???? Today is my 2 weeks post op , feeling pretty good. 35 lbs in 3 weeks , hooray ! That's amazing. Keep up the good work. Keep posting.
  5. Hello Are you feeling any better? Hope things have gotten a little easier for you.
  6. Hi Jenn I'll share Highest weight 245 Surgery weight 236 Surgery 5/5/15 (14 days post op) Current as of today 223 Down 22 lbs total I'm 5 feet 7 inches tall , I started this process in February so I'm down 22 lbs in 3 months. Never would I have been able to do that in the past.
  7. So glad you liked it. It really is yummy.. I know, I keep putting to much on my plate and realizing that was the old me..For sure have to realize we can no longer eat the amounts of foods that we did in the past. I'm still working on that. Takes time. I'm eating on small plates, small bowls, etc. even bought a few really small coffee cups (espresso cups) for my morning decaf. Oh no , dumping episode...... Sounds awful. I haven't had any vomiting but I have had that uh oh I may have taken one bite too many. I may sound sick but when I get that feeling of I ate too much but really didn't eat that much , it feels great , not the pain , just the thought that I can't eat like I used to. Hooray! We're all still in our learning phase. Takes time. Hope your feeling better today.
  8. Hang in a week goes by fast, soft / puréed foods will taste wonderful. I started them yesterday , a day early and tolerated well ( I am not suggesting anyone start soft / puréed foods earlier then their doctor recommends). Belly binder , how did that work out , was it comfortable.
  9. Ouch! Take it easy! I remember my CNP telling me that it's very common to feel pulls and tugs especially if it's an incision with some underlying stitches! If it gets worse, don't be Afraid to call! I've called twice because I've had a rash and might have an infected incision AND thrush! It's a journey, for sure! Thanks Jenn. I am taking it easy now. Yes , with the inside stitches have to be careful, I just figured I was 13 days post op and should be ok. I was wrong , inside takes longer to heal. I'm feeling a bit better today. How did you make out with your incisions , do you have an infection , what did doctor say. Not even kidding, I did the same thing you did today while I was getting in my car. Sharp pain, then it became dull and started fading! Can see how it'd freak you out!And good! No infection just a weird reaction where the glue met part of the incision that was scabbed over! She pulled the glue off and has me Doing bacitracin and band aids for a while over that one! I do have thrush too. So i am NOT looking forward to the nystatin mouth rinse ???? Thank you for asking! Your welcome. Really glad to hear no big ingestion to worry about. Thrush, keep up with the mouth rinses, thrush can clear up pretty quickly. As for our incision areas have to careful. They appear pretty much healed on the outside but inside no way. I was to start soft food tomorrow , I couldn't wait. Started soft today. Had cottage cheese for breakfast , cottage cheese never tasted so good. Lol. I noticed a couple type o's in my earlier message. Phone fills things in at random.
  10. @@Salonboi I started soft foods a day early , today. Couldn't help it , just couldn't drink anymore protein. I made the mock lasagna for lunch , really enjoyed. Thanks again for sharing. So I put 2 small to medium size pieces on my plate. Was only able to eat fraction of what was on plate. The eyes want it but the stomach said oh no don't. Anyway, thanks for sharing.

  13. Hey everyone. Ok , so yesterday I decided carpet in living room needed vacuum , it's a room area rug. So I did run the vacuum and felt a little pull in one of my incision areas. Did t pay much attention. Omg by last night the area is so sore, feels like it's torn inside , painful when I move. Gonna just take it easy today and see if it gets any better. I'm 13 days post op today , I guess too soon for some things. Have follow up appt with surgeon this Friday so going to see how feels by then. Yikes!

    Ladies over 50 - bypass

Hi everyone. Ok , so I am 13 days post op , yesterday I decided to vacuum just a room area rug and felt one of my small incisions pull a bit. Thought nothing of it. By late yesterday and today that one site of my abdomen is so freaking sore. If I even move a little it feels like inside is just pulling. Painful painful painful. Just gonna rest today and see if it gets better. Have follow doctor appt this Friday so trying to wait till then. Hope it goes away. Yikes !
  15. I'm 13 days post op and I am now coping better. When I was about 7 to 10 days post op I was feeling the same way. Huge mistake. Hang in, it gets better. It may take a bit of time for your head to get on the same page as your stomach. It does get better. This is a huge change to your life and a life long commitment, and hey thinner surely won't hurt. ????Keep posted on this thread, there are some amazing people in here that will help. They helped me more then they may know. Wish you well
  16. Omg. I can't believe you said that. I swear I think the same stuff. My pouch was left too big. Or this just isn't gonna work for me. So weird how the head just doesn't seem on board with the stomach. Lol
  17. Congrats on the 9lbs ???? that's awesome.. I have fleeting moments of head/stomach hunger.. It's still rather confusing..@salonboi. Well put, rather confusing.
  18. Sorry to hear that Jenn. Hope all works out and nothing too serious.
  19. Hey Dawn. SC how nice. I'm looking forward to Tuesday also , I'm gonna weigh myself first time since surgery and can start eating soft / puréed foods. I really am sick of protein shakes. I was told tastes could change after surgery and boy did they. I think everything is just way to sweet and difficult to tolerate.
  20. Ya know , me too , no cravings. Which for me is really weird. I was someone who was always looking for something to eat. Lol. It's also weird for my husband , I'm not asking him what are we doing for dinner. Maybe finally we can eat to live and not live to eat. Happy days. Congrats on the 9 lbs down.
  21. Eggs and country gravy. Lol. Anaheim CA , nice. I've not been to CA. Maybe one day. Are you feeling hungry ? I'm not sure if I'm hungry or I just am so used to eating all the time , that my head is tricking my stomach.
  22. I've been there before, loved the king of Prussia mall.. I had training up there 15 yes ago. I'm from Charlotte NC .. Been here most of my life. I was born in Louisiana while my father was in the army, but my family are from Michigan.Very interesting that not only have you heard of King of Prussia, you've been here before. And yes , first thing people say is " great mall". Lol. It is a great mall , not being much of a shopper , I'm not there much. I live about a mile from that mall. So your in NC, how nice. I hear how southerns are so nice and hospitable. So not the case with Northerns. Well I consider myself nice. Just saying we have reputation of being rude and move / talk fast. Anyway, I feel pretty good today. And I also am no longer taking pain meds. Today is 12 days out for me. Oh , going to grocery store today, getting ready for when I can start eating soft / puréed. I did "cheat" a little this morning. Had a bit of Greek yogurt. Went down nicely without a problem. Don't wanna push it to quickly.

That's what I am thinking , just the smell or consistency of baby food will gross me out. I agree if I can Abe small amount of food , better be really good food. Have not tried the quiche yet because still on my liquid post op diet until Tuesday. Then to soft or puréed foods. When I can eat regular food , def gonna make the quiche.
  24. I'm just curious where is everyone from , where located. If you wanna share , I live in King Of Prussia, PA That's suburbs of Philadelphia, about 20 miles outside of Philadelphia. Originally from Philly, lived outside for about 10 years.
  25. It's amazing how a good poop makes you feel great. Your niece is a cutey And your prize , well that's best prize ever, who doesn't wanna be a princess ( at least it looks like a princess tiara in ur pic ).
